Meanwhile a Soviet built IL-62 took off with full fuel and stating with nothing more then a lil hope and was still in good flying condition when it retired in the 80s

In 2019, an airbus a320 URAL airlines plane made an emergency landing in a field, on takeoff the somalet collided with a flock of birds, the crew decided to land the plane on the field, it was even filmed
Reminds me of the time in the 80’s where they landed a plane on a levee during a dual engine failure. They replaced the engines and took off on a nearby road.
i’m in AMT school rn working to get my A&P license so I really enjoy these vids. my instructor asks us about things that has happened in the Aviation world every day, so needless to say I have a lot to talk about😂
It's not the first . Look up the boing in Louisiana I believe landed on a Levi and took off from the grass after changing an engine if I remember right
You should make a video about the East German interflug il-62 making a grass landing, there is enough video material from it and the plane is still on the same spot and serves as a museum now. They landed it at Stölln/Rhinow airfield in Gollenberg, so it could become a memorial
The plane landed on a runway somewhere in Russia as far as i know but they wre trying to fix the aircraft and immediately let it take off from there idk why
This is a lot like TACA airlines flight 110 (don’t fact check me on the flight number) where the pilot had to land a 737-400 on a field in 1989 and then after they fixed it up they flew it away into a NASA base. Edit 1: It could’ve been a 600 I can’t remember
With the embargo and risk of damage to the engines during a take off attempt it was determined the plane is worth more as parts due to sanctions. It’s ironic that its the second ural airlines a320 to land in a field in the past few years
There was a plane that made an emergency landing on/by a levee near New Orleans in the late 80’s/early 90’s that I also thought it took off from as well. Regardless the sheer lunacy of “yeah we’ll take off from this field” I’m sure to applaud or be appalled.
If they'd had Seabees, they could have just built a runway in front of the plane. Might take them a little longer than the few days it would take them back in WWII.
Imagine if the gear doesnt retract while they try to land back at the airport and it just happens again💀

it is true that the plane broke because they stole the planes for themselves, even though it was just a rented plane
Update:
The airline has given up on trying to rescue the aircraft from the field and they're going to dismatle the plane for parts
Sad
Better than losing an aircraft (and pilots) entirely...
@@kabochaVA It benefits them since they can't even get any parts for their aircraft so they have to take out in service planes to salvage parts.

It's a grass field not a helipad
Lol, it has been like that since ever, just not for modern airliners.

ok.
TACA 110 had to take off from a grass levee after landing there too

My suggestion came to life! Thanks aaron!
Every private pilot who just learned short field takeoffs, “I’m on my way, don’t worry”
They could use some roller compactor machines and smooth & pack a temporary runway before the cold weather .

The initial incident with hydraulic failure and low fuel field landing would make an excellent green dot or mentour video
“…they will however be accepting passengers”

A Mexican pilot, with only one eye, did this on a Levi.

This airliner could benefit from 2 4 wheel drives pushing on the landing gears with special padded push rods to the rear landing gear struts.
wow Mr. Engineer here💀
I'm sorry

Props to the pilots for quick thinking
Your literally my aviation news 😅
A Plane landing and takeoff again in grass, just like the old times
If an airliner can take off from a field, it can take off from KENL in Centralia, IL.
Check out the flight that landed on a levee outside New Orleans and then took off from it. 😊
Bro got that Turkish airlines music
Low fuels what got em there in the first place
Once it's off the ground it should be fine. They'll land it properly next time and after so long that landing gear will be fixed

Do a video about the best aviation movies

I hope the plane gets repo'd first, glad everyone's safe tho.
I hope they fix the hydraulics fault too first 😂

Hydraulic issues because they can't get parts. Besides they probably had this on lease from a company in Ireland so it's basically stolen anyways
The ground is hard in the summer not the winter
this some we do in simulation games
Wow, that is crazy!
and they decided to scrap the plane instead
