    The airline has given up on trying to rescue the aircraft from the field and they're going to dismatle the plane for parts

    if anyone’s been wondering whether they managed to take off of the field yet: nope. they decided that it would be too expensive for the company to take out all the seats & etc to make it possible. so they’re gonna take the plane apart & recycle its parts

    Sometime ago, don’t know the exact date, a Colombian airline plane landed on a levee in Louisiana due to storm damage and after repairs took off from the levee. Was an episode on the series Mayday.

    Meanwhile a Soviet built IL-62 took off with full fuel and stating with nothing more then a lil hope and was still in good flying condition when it retired in the 80s

    In 2019, an airbus a320 URAL airlines plane made an emergency landing in a field, on takeoff the somalet collided with a flock of birds, the crew decided to land the plane on the field, it was even filmed

    Reminds me of the time in the 80’s where they landed a plane on a levee during a dual engine failure. They replaced the engines and took off on a nearby road.

    You should make a video about the East German interflug il-62 making a grass landing, there is enough video material from it and the plane is still on the same spot and serves as a museum now. They landed it at Stölln/Rhinow airfield in Gollenberg, so it could become a memorial

    This is a lot like TACA airlines flight 110 (don’t fact check me on the flight number) where the pilot had to land a 737-400 on a field in 1989 and then after they fixed it up they flew it away into a NASA base.

    With the embargo and risk of damage to the engines during a take off attempt it was determined the plane is worth more as parts due to sanctions. It’s ironic that its the second ural airlines a320 to land in a field in the past few years

    There was a plane that made an emergency landing on/by a levee near New Orleans in the late 80’s/early 90’s that I also thought it took off from as well. Regardless the sheer lunacy of “yeah we’ll take off from this field” I’m sure to applaud or be appalled.
