I used to watch pewds religiously when I was a kid but over the last 4-5 years I've only checked in on his channel every once in a while. It always feels like catching up with an old friend so I'm happy he's decided not to quit.

He technically completed his youtube game. He can do fun & relax contents for himself & people will come eventually. He love it not because of the money

Who doesn't know only a few succeed in life? Success is never guaranteed, that's life. Working hard at something you like is still working hard. Working "joyfully" as you say, is a dumb thing to say too, how many people that likes to play games and make content are doing that and we probably never even saw their videos? So are you saying that a broke-ass RUclipsr with 10 subs should continue to do that instead of going out and getting a job that pays bills because he should work "joyfully"?

I remeber Asmongold talking to HealthyGamer about fearing being past his peak. Here I see he's coming to terms with it and understanding how good life can be still. It's wonderful.

Pewds used to be my biggest inspiration 2011-2014ish, I haven't really watched him in years, but I never lost my respect for the man
I've always respected PewDiePie's hustle and I'm happy for him that he's at a place in his life where he can just enjoy. I think it's important to just enjoy doing things, like just going surfing, no matter how much money or success you have.

@@BMdegen Probably a mix of the two- but he’s rich enough that just investing in different things is enough for him to earn a steady income at this rate. If he didn’t want to do RUclips, he wouldn’t be doing it anymore

@@crystola99 Yeah he most likely doesn't need RUclipss money anymore. His parents are both insanely successful.. run several companies, VP at one of the biggest clothing brands in Scandinavia. They have definitely taught him how to be smart with his money, and invest in the right things.

I think we can say right now that PewDiePie is one of those RUclipsrs that had a happy ending.
You know what it is. You guys have become comfort food. While the world burns outside, turning you guys on brings us back to a time when all was relatively right with the world.
people can rag on pewds all they want, and while i don't watch him anymore, I remember the years I did watch him almost non-stop.
Exactly. I only started watching Asmon this last year, but with pewdiepie… my life is so different and has changed so much in the last few years. And going back to his vids… it’s like you said, “comfort food.” I stopped watching RUclips, playing games for a year, just stopped doing a lot of things and just existed in depression. When I went back to his channel, I felt a rush of familiarity, comfort that I hadn’t had in a long time. Ik I’ll prob never meet him, but the place pewds has in my heart will always be there
regardless of his past dramas, he's the reason I got into RUclips and streamers when I was young. I remember watching his amnesia vids and finding him so entertaining. It's been so heartwarming watching him grow and live his life. Glad he's finally doing what he wants!
Probably the biggest sign of Pewds evolving is going from a Razer headset to Audeze headphones.
I subbed pewdiepie when he had around 800 subs. What can I say, it has been a journey. I basically grew up with him (being 14 then and 26 now)

That's awesome, I can only imagine you must feel so proud. I joined when I was around 12 and I am now closing in on 22, and I feel proud and happy to have been with Pewds for the past 9 years or so. Throughout all the ups and downs for Pewds and his channel, his fandom, and in my own life.
It’s so nice to see Pewds grow up over the years and enjoy life more, he picked up reading and gyming, gotten rid of the alcohol addiction, learning to surf, and is just enjoying life. He feels like a bigger brother to me and really inspires me to get better myself.
I remember someone on his Reddit opening up about how Pewds felt like a father, and Pewds got teary-eyed. Good times.
Pewdiepie has become older hence more humble. He realized how easy his life is and the weight of his freedom and started appreciating life.
I remember being 10 and watching Pewdiepie on my Xperia 8. I watched him in my backyard after school, because there was a hornet’s nest in my doorbell and I was too scared to go inside.
Its kind of insane, having seen him from the start, then I dipped out once I outgrew him, and now to be back and just seeing how far he’s come.
He had about 250k subs when I started watching him.
He really helped a young swede pass time until his dad would come home and open the front door.
The weirdest thing is coming to the comments and see people who watched PewDiePie as kids. I feel so old

The only thing this probably doesn't apply to is religion. Every person I know that quit their religion specifically and substantially knows why they quit and why everyone around them wasn't capable of seeing the problem.
honestly his content has been even more interesting more as he got older and while things change throughout his life awesome move random vlogs, he isnt my daily main consumer content but ive definitely seen so much, he definitely deserves a place at the top forever even when hes gone. he's genuinely a smart/nice man and sometimes he sticks his nose in a trend he finds fun instead of every single one.
and things have really changed since he started. you can really do anything with RUclips nowadays. youtube has just became so big and variety content is better than ever. if you think about it he's still showing its possible that youtube has a longer life for more ppl
Pewdiepie is just doing the side quests now
So many people in life young and old are never taught to know when to stop. And stopping doesn't always mean quitting. The thing I like about what pewdiepie is basically saying is "Im not focusing on growth any more. Im content, more than content with where I am right and what is right in front. Im going to just go forward doing what I like to do and for the people who stick with it and come along, awesome. And if not, thanks for the memories but Im ready to make myself my priority vs the channel." That's huge honestly. Good for him. I hope more people in life can learn to be satisfied with what they've accomplished and learn that its okay to stop "pushing".
I think nowadays he just enjoy creating videos whenever he have time. right now his content is really good and very calm since his wife edit his VLOG in japan video. He can disappear for awhile and ppl will still look at his video.
Also fun observation for those not aware, Pewds seems a very invested audiophile, he's wearing some very sought after headphones lately. Awesome hobby for sure
felix is almost 33y old :) he's had a really good life tbh and deserves it. genuinely nice guy, been many times i wish i had what he has but i've always just been happy for him instead of going "damn him" you know, just purely happiness for his success because i can kinda relate to his persona in a way, probably many can.

Man, I used to watch pewds regularly back when it was just call of duty. Now maybe once a month, maybe once in 2 or 3 months. But I'm still proud and happy that he's still here. It's like seeing you're old friend doing what he loves

I would always watch Asmon occasionally on youtube. When he was watching the trial, I was watching a bunch of other stuff and the trial brought me back. Then I started watching him live so I don't have to wait. I haven't taken a break since... You never know ;D
I think what attracts people is when the streamer be it pewdiepie or Asmo or whomever, is doing something they love and can be authentic about it. Nobody wants to watch someone having a miserable time doing something they clearly are not enjoying because it gets views/whatever. When you're authentic, that glow/appeal attracts people like crazy and they have fun because the streamer is having fun.
I think watching your favorite streamer/youtuber play a brand new game and figure it out is super fascinating and fun. Most people watch it for the commentary and the personality.
Watching people explore unfamiliar grounds is exciting.

Pewds and Anthony Padilla (Smosh) is like the OG of OG And if Jenna Marbles didn't quit they'd be the trifecta of the continuous evolution to stay relevant on the platform. Anthony where his content is like a fresh new him and the opposite is Felix where he is older and wiser. So many YTbers have fall from how fast the RUclips trend is but this two is just next level.
You can't talk about OGs without including RyanHiga.
OG YTubers and many others realizing chasing the algorithm is soulless.
They are not quitting making content. They are quitting following trends and appealing to the algorithm. Making content they want to make when they want to make it. You know, like YT used to be.

pewdipie's video has been really chill and relaxing lately. Bunch of Japan tour and sight scenes are all very good to watch.
I mostly watch streamers/youtubers (you included) because of their personality. Your opinions, your humor, your voice - everything is relaxing and enjoyable. This is true for other content creators i watch, too. Most of my go-to-creators can make any videos they like, i would watch all of em.
Tbh i do miss the old content from pewds but its his channel he can upload whatever he wants its his life

12:00 I am not sure why did asmon straight up lie right here, I was there when he played fortnite, he had over 50k viewers and as soon as he started playing fortnite he went down to 30 and eventually even less. maybe hes not lying, but he certainly has a wrong memory of that event.
I'm glad Pewds didn't stop because of the drama. He would have regretted it. He showed that all you need a is a loyal fanbase and it won't matter how many people try to cancel you.

When a contentcreator decides to only make content they enjoy making, that will reflect and the video or whatever will be better because of it. Its much more entertaining to watch someone do something they enjoy rather something they think is dull.
I get it. I've been a "content creator" for 10 years, I only have 18K subs, but I don't get discouraged because at the end of the day, it's about creating content and sharing with others.
As a 24 year old who's watched the guys videos for like 8 years this is kinda perfect, tbh. The guy who played games and made videos everyday about memes or internet drama was hilarious when he was in his early 20s, now he's a married 32 yo man. Instead of quitting, this now means he pops in to youtube every now and then to make a video here and there, and can't watch his videos everyday anymore so legit feels like I'm opening a portal to when I was 16 whenever the guy uploads.

Pewds must have really strong mental fortitude as well as work ethic. The majority of the top 50 RUclipsrs around the time Pewds became #1 all dissapered within a few years after Pewds became #1, having that pressure to always deliver some content every day really isn't something most people can handle for many years. But Pewds also had traditional media smearing his good name long before he ever said anything naughty on that bridge, depicting him as a nazi or that his followers were a bunch of nazis - that's dangerous stuff since it just takes one crazy to go end his life. I would have worried if i was him at that time. Anyway, Pewds is badass for doing that daily grind forever and never really complaining like some sissy and never apologizing just because he felt forced to.. but did do so when he felt it was the right thing to do. A good guy! Truly the king of YT

Who would wanna quit from a job where you can stack monetized videos and even if you stop money would still go to the bank because people still watch your old video... it's almost endless cash cow at least for a few years until people "forget" and barely watch your channel. BUT and it's a big one - theres the sponsors and theres the ad revenue, i imagine how hard it is to just leave that golden eggs laying goose alone...
With PewDiePie I don't think it's about money anymore. If he wants money, he would upload games. Plus he doesn't need RUclips anymore for that. He donates all his YT membership money. He makes a lot of money with his companies, investments, games etc. He probably just can't stop doing RUclips since he has done it for a decade
@@ardel-4964 I think you're right because i watched him from the very beginning and he started even before affiliates were popular and got huge sums and also stayed after the ad apocalypse , but for alot of youtubers thats the case.. but also i don't think that making youtube for more than 10 years is sustainable or fun so if it was me i would use the youtube money as means to invest in real estates or build a company.
I never even got into gaming, I was never interested, but I've been watching Pewds for about 10 years for the entertainment value. Even as a non-gamer, I find his contents very entertaining and I really think he deserves his success on RUclips.
I have a gamer son now and I've probably matured as much as Pewds did. RUclips in the early 2010's really was the most memorable RUclips era where everyone was about making entertaining contents as a hobby with minimum equipments and maximum creativity and engagement with audience.

I had free money to go to an instate school in the early 90s which would be about 10% of the money required to attend university these days. School is a place to fuck off a little bit longer in life until you are put in the place to sustain yourself. You're not meant to be anything.
