Thanks for the review. Just a warning for those looking to purchase the Joovv Go. My battery failed after 12 months use and is now pretty useless as a portable device. It was just out of warranty and the Joovv team were not accommodating even though the device was my second Joovv purchase. Their after sales service could certainly be improved.
An excellent scientific explanation of wavelengths, dosage and comparison. Curious why you warn about eye exposure (makes sense) when the interviews I’ve heard from the 2 creators of Joovv and another expert on red light therapy said the light actually benefits eyes. Hoping to get some clarification soon.
It’s worth noting that Joovv’s customer service is terrible. If your product or shipping has any issue whatsoever, you’ll have to deal with them and they are unprofessional and condescending.
I've read on other sites about the same problem with them. Seems once you made a purchase, you're on your own..and no warranty whatsoever. Almost like a scam outfit where they just want to make as much money as possible and then disappear when the complaints get too great.
There’s another company called Mito that also makes high quality light therapy devices. I was close to purchasing a JOOV but am glad I found Mito first - they’re also a little more affordable
thank you for not only the review but the indepth knowledge on how it all functions, makes me feel much more comfortable and confident to get into this myself. Great video, also your voice is very nice :)
This is a fantastic review! Straight to the point, all the science broken down easily and it covers everything I wanted to know. Keep up the great work!
@@barefootstrength you are so welcome! :) would love it if you did a video on c60 Vs molecular hydrogen. I don't get what the difference is they sound like they do the same thing!
What wattage of the device is necessary then? I’ve seen many devices all saying they are 660nm RED & 850nm NIR, however wattage ranges from 45w to 1500 w (since they are LED I imagine that’s the output equivalent not actual wattage used Bc that would be an enormous power bill). Do you have advice ?
Thank you for your video. I have pigmantation on my face. Some say, that "near-infrared LED" should not be used in that case. But some say the opposite. What would you advise? Can I use red+ near_infrared LED together?
This is something I will definitely look into. From the research I have gathered thus far, it seems that the eyes could benefit through indirect exposure via the 'bystander effect.' So, by shining the RLT device on the face, but protecting direct light into the pupils, one could still receive a benefit in the eye.
hello do you have a device that has red and nir infrared for skin rejuvenation and for the other health benefit which one will you recommend from the joovv mini thanks
Thank you for notifying us about this issue. We have just contacted Joovv to rectify the problem and are now awaiting their response. We’ll let you know as soon as we hear back from them. Sorry for the inconvenience.... and thank you for your support 🙏
Both the mini and go devices would be able to target the neck area. The mini uses both red and NIR light frequencies which can target the deep and superficial layers of the neck effectively. However, if you opt for the ‘Go’ models, then make sure to select the NIR version, as only this light frequency will be able penetrate deep into the tissues of the neck.
These are newer models I recently found which allow you to see through them, but still protect the eyes from the light frequencies emitted by these red light therapy devices. USA & International: amzn.to/32P5ns9 UK & Europe: amzn.to/2Gl1J1Q
NIR stands for ‘Near Infrared.’ This is the band of light with a wavelength of 850nm used by Joovv. NIR is invisible to the eyes.... unlike the RED one which can be seen. Learn more here: ruclips.net/video/2HyigKLHteQ/видео.html
ii am considering to get the joovv mini,, but can you please answer ......is it better to use both the red and the NIR infrared in one unit for best results to support all the layer of the skin ?? thanks
It is definitely better to use both red and NIR light. Reason being is because with multiple light frequencies, you are able to capture multiple layers of skin and other tissue at the same time.
Just to confirm this. The Joovv Go comes in two models; The one emits only red light, while the other emits only NIR light. You would select the NIR option to target the deep tissues in the neck
If you are looking to get the benefits that both light spectrums have to offer, then the Joovv mini is the better choice. Personally, I use the Joovv mini and I’m very happy with it 👌
i've been scouring the internet to see how the Joove machines compare to the Dr.Dennis Gross LED mask. i want to use redlight/IL for skincare but idk which to choose
I have the mask. I like it, but as he noted results are not immediate. You more so will notice how effective your skincare routine is when used with it. I almost returned my device, because I was rounding the 30 day return window and I hadnt noticed anything. I wasnt doing my regular routine with it, because I wanted to see how it worked on its own. After I gave up, I went back to my Korean skincare routine. I noticed when I did it after the mask, the products absorbed better and worked much better (mind you they were good already). I also used it a couple times with my ZIIP (which I'm too lazy to use consistently lol) but it appeared to enhance those results as well.
Yes, the lights can penetrate through the skin anywhere on the body. Only hair seems to block penetration. So, as long as hair is not in the way of the neck area, it will be fine,.
What I know is the benefit is from the infrared ray not the red light! so people should buy the infrared illuminator that sold for security camera not the red lighting!
Red light therapy has been shown in numerous clinical trials to support eye health and vision. So no googles needed. However, the LED lights can be quite bright, so we don’t recommend looking at them directly but it won't damage your eyes...
But isn't the Medical Grade laser diodes better ? They penetrate deeper , 284 laser diodes at 550-600 NM , I have a RedRestore Max LLLT CAP for hair Restoration, I just out this over my face for 7 mins and then use my CurrentBody LED mask that has NIR also for 10 mins , why does no one talk about laser diodes much more effective and expensive
Interesting video, but why dont you want to make it clear that this is a sponsored video? Without doing so, people can think this is an unbiased review (not everyone watching the video will read to the bottom of the description where it says "Affiliate Disclosure").
We were not paid any money to make this video. Otherwise, we would have had to have made it known to the viewers during the video as per RUclips’s terms of service policies. Since we believe in the science behind Red Light Therapy, and are satisfied with the products that Joovv are producing in this space, it makes sense to produce a review of the technology. And because we feel this way about red light therapy and Joovv, why wouldn’t we join their affiliate program? After all, how else would we be able to have the budget for the production of these videos? Also, our reputation on RUclips is more important than making a quick buck. So, it is in our best interest to only produce reviews of product we have thoroughly researched and believe in. We are not on RUclips to play games. We provide honest, professionally produced science based reviews for everyone to learn from and enjoy. In exchange for this service, we earn a living. That’s all there is to it.
Yes, these devices are extremely expensive. My hope is that once the technology become more popular and widely available, we’ll start to see more competitive pricing as a result.
It’s actually pretty complex. Many mistake these lights as regular red coloured bulbs. However, it’s actually more sophisticated than that. The bulbs need to emit an exact frequency for them to be effective. The lenses In front of the bulbs must focus the light so that they can converge and magnify the rays at a certain treatment distance. The bulbs must be powerful enough to ensure a successful treatment. The device shouldn’t emit a lot of EMF... and the list goes on. There is tonnes of research and development that goes into these devices.

Trust pilot says it all on JOOV. They always break and charge $300 each time. Also, search the flickering rate.
