Death is one of those few bands that doesn't have a single bad album. Chuck was a musical genius.

You didn't even finish playing the video. If you didn't like what he did in his band you should say so and not pretend you liked him just to get subscribers or not get criticism. It is completely genuine that you do not like it, these are things that happen.

He started playing gorey death metal but along the way he paved the way for technical and progressive death metal to become a thing too. His lyrics became more philosophical and his songwriting more complex

Where would you have heard it? No where except from the albums, certainly not radio unless you listened to latenight Tampa radio from the late eighties early nineties. My guess is the fact Chuck was quite melodic, and had solid theory, so despite being a "sub genre of metal" its very musical. Point, counter point, tasteful phrasin, the leads and solos are in key and despite being shreddelic and dynamic to the point of madness, resolve fluidly and make sense in context.

Death Metal is great, some of the chunkiest, grooviest of metal genres which sounds odd but the groove is vital to Death Metal, Chuck is another guitarist who figured out his own tone and style, honed in on it and went all in and yeah, dude had some crazy long finger reach and his picking techniques are superb; he also preferred solid state Marshall amps to tube amps, said he always had clarity issues with tube amps and tubes burning out on tour was a drag considering they could be difficult to locate in a pinch

His newer band(before he died) was CONTROL DENIED . It was the same members as DEATH but he got a vocalists that could "technically' sing--Tim Aymar. BTW sorry for blowing up your comments... Chuck is my biggest Hero next to Yeshua! lol! Check out Jeff Loomis(NEVERMORE) and Per Nillson(Scar Symmetry) for some Majickal Solo work!

Death's first three albums are pretty good and have a distinctive sound that laid a good base for what the band would become. Human to Sound of Perseverance though are absolutely amazing.

Chuck IS the greatest metal guitarist to ever live. Yeah, everyone goes apeshit for Kiko Loreiro. He is a killer player, for sure, no shade intended. But Chuck was such a killer guitar player, so technically proficient, and unafraid to explore the depths of how far he could take metal. It’s such a profound loss, as I would have loved to hear his music today…This is the GOAT, period!

I'm of the personal opinion you don't have to be the most technically proficient guitarist to be a great guitarist. People like Chuck, EVH, Jimi Hendrix, and others are considered among the greatest guitarists because of the music they wrote with the instrument, not because their music was the most complex, technically challenging thing to play.

Yeah... No ... This is same kind of shit that you see young girls do for Justin Bieber, fangirling at it's finest... What Chuck did with music was something but he wasn't exactly some kind of god given talent on guitar... 😂 Why is it that Pantera and Death both have dudes behaving like 14 year old girls at a Taylor Swift concert? You don't get it as much with other bands but these 2 collect them like flies.
