Splendid vehicles. My Dad also has a custom-built 1983 300D Turbo Diesel that he ordered and purchased from Germany in a flawless Biscayne Blue exterior with MB Tex navy blue interior. It was shipped all the way from Stuttgart to our home town of Fairbanks, Alaska. It has been very well-maintained up to this very day in July 22, 2024. Thanks for your uploaded video of these two majestic 300D models! ~ Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sr.
Both look absolutely great. COLOURS make such a difference on these cars. Here in SA we find so often Light Ivory - it IS a very "practical" colour and can have a deep Lustre, but is just not exciting - to me!! :-)
Interesting video. I lived in West Germany in the late 1970s/early 1980s, and these cars were everywhere, and often used as taxis. I can recall them being extremely well built, but noisy, smelly, and slooooow. Beyond that, I don't recall anybody paying much attention to them, they were basically like German Chevys. Mercedes Benz certainly made much more exciting cars.
I dunno how he finds them either haha. I'm glad he does though and brings them to a well heeled collector audience. These cars deserve to have a market, and not just all be sub $5k beaters destined for the junkyard.

They're fantastic. The W123 is the best car made by any manufacuter ever.
You need a W126 diesel of this era as well
Extremely nice

Best .
The Lexus LS is the best built car. The 3UZ FE engine in the 460 is aviation certified.
Back when they made quality. Not recently
Does the door close sound more solid on the '78 or is it just me? Maybe there was a change to the door hardware design during the facelift?
Sounds the same to me. I've never noticed a difference on any of them that I've owned or driven.
How can I contact you to buy this car
How come you sell a w123 per day.... crazy
