Wow...where this one come from and what is its story?. These are rock solid dependable cars that are fairly easy to repair and parts are cheap. They also bring a pretty penny on the used car with 150-200K miles on them as long as they are in good condition I can only imagine what the market price of this one will bring. $$$
Omg! I guess that car was never driven! It’s a brand new car! Wow! It really takes me back. My mother had a 84 TD. It was truly a great car especially traveling. What a masterpiece!
As interesting as it is to see such an example, I think it will always be only for a show, if you want one that's good for actually driving, buying a nice example with 50, 60 thousand miles that's well maintained will definitely be better. This car sitting for so long can't be healthy, the components are barely run in
I really would like to know the car's story. I mean, a diesel is - normally - a car what you buy for driving tons of miles per year. How can it be, that a "diesel" has that extremely low mileage run??? What's its story?
The 123 has been better than the 115 and better than the 124s. It was even better as the 126. The only Problem: Rust. I used to work on those Cars for many years in the 80is an beginning 90is. The 123s are rocks 😊
Wow Man! Congrats👋👋👋 for the beautiful and well preserved car!👌 I'm jealous of the future owners... 😅😂😂😍🤩👌This can sound like an old guy talking, which I am😅, but they don't make them like this anymore! Today they are program to live anthill the end of warranty more couple of years and they start to dry your wallet... 😜😂😂😂 Cheers from Portugal 👌😎
I am from Morocco and we also have a very old one. I think it is a 1984 model, especially its amazing color. Haha. I wish I had any way to show it to you. I really love it very much. When you drive it down the street, everyone looks at me, especially a woman.
Love to see the detail in this video , thank you. I pickup at least 2 a year a flip them or save for my own use for the last 17 years . Clean them up , fix what’s obviously out of service then list it . I have 7 drivers and 2 parts cars currently . It’s a hobbie , this one belongs in a museum , really is at its best .
Such a beautiful Mercedes, thank you for not ruining the car by driving it to much. Hopefully the next caretaker will enjoy and respect it as much as you have.
Awesome classic MB 300D, but unfortunately it’s an automatic transmission model made for USA where almost nobody knows how to drive a real car with manual transmission. These cars were the most common cars used as taxicabs allover Europe and Middle East and about 99% of them had 5 speed manual transmission. They were the last “million mile” MBs produced. The models produced after the 123 were junk. Today everybody produces nothing but plastic computers on wheels which are nothing but grossly overpriced absolute junk. Heck, the 21st century world looks like it’s quickly turning into a fk’n nightmarish dystopian hell hole created by the insane and filthy rich WEF elitists !
Woods a NM d Barkley went to st Pierre bay or something but how did it lose miles . Cause the owner told him no more driving he didn't want to break 1600. His 0-60 testing added a few all documented in w and B video 1583 miles maybe im wrong going back to check it out.
Back when Mercedes cars were well engineered and built to last. None of their recent computer modules and plastic parts filled cars will even be running in 35 years from now. Now they're engineered to fail in 10 to 15 years.
I nearly owned to restore a similar car but sadly didn’t go far , so instead bought a new E220D estate , best car I ever owned or driven , the quality is simply faultless and the investment is priceless 👍🏼
40 years old car looking like that? And 1,521 miles? Is that a full restore, or did it live in someone's bedroom? It'll do 1,000,000 more miles easily.
As a W123 fanatic, I can say with certitude that this is the best original example of a 300D extant. (Would love to see Pierre Hedary chime in on that, or Kent Bergsma, or the Woods & Barclay guy.) This cosmoline and cadmium queen is nearly surreal! The details are stunning -- even for an ultra-low mileage example. The tag on the cooling tank; the decal on the valve cover; the pristine wood; the gas cap area; the rear window trim and glass; the gleaming anodized aluminum trim. And notice how fast the engine shuts down: showing off the outstanding compression.
I’m a Mercedes mechanic for 27 years trained in Germany, worked on thousands of these cars and as well as other Mercedes and Dean has overlooked one critical part of the car that doubts its legitimacy
I'm both happy and sad to see this. Someone bought this car and missed the point of having it.
Hopefully they boughg two and drove one
Oui
So glad they preserved it but too bad they did not enjoy it.

It is a wonderful vehicle, perfectly preserved. The interior smell of the Mercedes is very nice.
I had this as a combi, and two times as a Limousine, but only the combi was the turbo. It was very strong for towing trailers.
It's a dream to have a car like this example.
Made in Germany, not in China or Korea or Japan.Quality High End XXL😊🤗😊🤗
Aslo did you restored it from Mercedes Benz
did you not sell this car?
(Reserve Not Met)
This car was build during the time when Mercedes meant Mercedes.
Cudo , silnik dopiero zaczyna się docierać. Dźwięk bajka. Stara dobra szkoła 👍👍👍🏆🏆🏆😍😍😍👂👂👂😎❤️
This is mind blowing...so fresh ,neat and well maintained.
What an awesome vehicle! I can still hear that engine from back into the 80´s. The build quality is amazing
It's really a sweet sound. Reminds me of my teen years, my dad's mercedes.
love the sound of those old diesels
Who owned that were they only put a 1,521 miles on it??? Unbelieveable! You sold it or still own it?
A 300D with 50 kilometers went for 50k euros 5 years ago on a German used car website, I expect this one will hit that mark on BAT , unbelievable
Really not that much considering these sold for almost $40K when new in 1985.
Needless to say, a true classic! Loved these turbo diesels and really love the color combo on this gem. Wish I had it
Me too! ❤ I never got the chance to have this kind of luck....
This car could stay alive for another 200years!! Maybe it will survive the Last Days and be driven into heaven on earth!!
Where was this car kept in the last 30 years? Please tell us more about it!
I wonder about that too
Museum :)

Where in the world did you find this gem?
No visuals are needed to recognize MB´s from this time period. Just need to hear the doors shut..... :-))

My thoughts exactly. Perfect show car not a daily driver or even weekend car.
Is it still available for sale? If so, how much?
This car is probably worth more than my house
Mine too!
It didn't sell for $53k I'm guessing the seller was looking for over 100k?
I really would like to know the car's story. I mean, a diesel is - normally - a car what you buy for driving tons of miles per year. How can it be, that a "diesel" has that extremely low mileage run??? What's its story?
Best of all : In 2 years this will be fully road tax free in my country and will be allowed in all European City Green Zones because it is a classic 🤣
The 123 has been better than the 115 and better than the 124s.
It was even better as the 126.

....I drive an Gold 85'...and after 40 yrs. of cars...it's by far the best car I've ever had....
I only like the 126 model better than this 123. Top condition, definitely worth $40,000
Is that how much it was sold for ?
My wife owned one of same year. Amazing and Indestructible car. Never got a single one issue and ride was so smooth.
I would like to buy it?
Museum Quality
This is when mercedes built great cars! Today unreliable high tech that is frightening when the warranty runs out!
Cult classic to the core, engineered like no other car in the world.
this must be fake, you recorded this in 1987 and just showing now.
or its a new trailer off back to the future IV
wow, wow WOW
You kill me man... 😜😅😂😂🤣🤣🤣
This is the car, not elektrike shit today.
Wow

In the beginning of the video with the engine hood up you pointed to a tag that said 1988 the car is a 1985
Where in the world did you find this beauty?

Hi David… can you share your contact? If so, I’ll provide you with my info!
Such a beautiful Mercedes, thank you for not ruining the car by driving it to much. Hopefully the next caretaker will enjoy and respect it as much as you have.

Question: how does the injection pump live with the ULSD (ultra low sulfur diesel)?
I didn't understand almost anything, but it's a Mercedes-Benz! 😃👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
A nice one please is it still available to sale please 🙏 ?.
How much you sold this car for ?
This is an absolute Time Capsule! Such a mint W123. …and the last production model year too. I own a 1983 model 300D in dark forest green.

Im currently getting new valve seals in the ‘ol OM617. She really purrs…
Probably not. How can I send you a current pic of it?
The question is

Dean, how do you do it man? Pristine W123, reminded me of that other gem that you've sold recently, the S123. 👍👍👍👍
Absolutely unreal! I'd love to know how much it sold for!

If I can buy this exact car I would put good money on it with a smile on my face
you can sit in these old car .and go around world any condition.just chamge oil and filters..new cars are shit ..compare of quality
Sounds like Houston. I can feel the air just listening
Very good condition.
I love 1980's Mercs, BMW's and Porsches.
Vozio sam ga 12 godina 123 MB. Govno trune brzinom svjetlosti.
Can hardly hear you. The clattering sound of the Merc Turbo Diesel engine drown you out.
ARE YOU SELLING THIS???
I appreciate it, but also feel sad how a machine designed to go 1,000,000 miles has done a minute fraction of it in 40 years. :(
I hear you saying the tag reads "1988". Am I not hearing well?
Mercedes Benz - best car !!!
