    When she talked about modern slavery existing in Africa and they didnt care, they exhibited the exact mindset a lot of other African tribes had. Those Africans didn't see themselves as black. They were tribalistic. But here these men are turning a blind eye because it isnt them being enslaved or them handing slaves off. It's that lack of empathy that allowed the slave trade to thrive and the complicit role black men played. Slavery is just an excuse for their hardships today even though they never experienced it themselves, but they couldn't care less about other black people experiencing it firsthand today. Why would Africans care back then about us then? It wasn't happening to their tribe.

      @@kittykatz4001 yeah but also child slavery in The DRC. And that bothers me. It irritates me to have this fixation on the cruelty of slavery on one hand because it specifically held your bloodline back yet to hear crickets about the slavery happening today. It comes off as disingenuous to behave as if nothing worse has happened to humans than slavery but then basically act like it ended when our own families were free, not including slavery up until the present. It shows it only exists for them as an excuse and they have no genuine passion or care for the institution of slavery unless they get attention from how it impacts them. It shows that black men don't learn from their mistakes. Slavery is happening now because of that selfishness and lack of foresight and will likely continue as long as men like this exist. They see women and children as property just like colonizers did, but with darker skin. That misogyny will always produce excuses to sell out their own because nothing is sacred. Until women are seen as equals, almost every issue in the world will continue to plunder our reality

    👀There was a Arab slave in East Africa before the Transatlantic slave trade and mostly African men willingly gave these men mostly Black women and children for the purposes of sex and physical labor. These slaves ended up all over Asia and the Middle East.

    1. Men who don't want smart partners don't feel that smart themselves. A smart partner would intimidate them. Yet, moving up educationally, is the road to being able to build better infrastructures and entrepreneurs within the Black community. Presently, we have no community. So any man who resents smart women aren't really thinking about the Black community. 2. I think Black women don't like talking about single mothers because it is not juxtaposed with the absentee fathers. BOTH are responsible!! Talk about how both sides are accountable and you will get the Black mother's ear. 3. When Black men don't like what CK is saying, I noticed that they always default to her hating Black men. When Black men, in general, don't like criticism from Black women, they default to those women are against Black men. When Black women IR date, there's always some Black man accusing them of not loving Black men. In other words, Black women couldn't possibly disagree with them unless they hate them.

    I went to Africa last August with my family! We had a personal tour guide who took all across Ghana for 10 days! He dropped us off at the airport, and on the way there he APOLOGIZED to me for black men there selling us! African men also know that this was the reality!

      Well for one this is common knowledge for anyone you cared to know but in school they don't teach you that African kingdoms at that time sold off their own in exchange for goods Africa has also had slavery but they were still treated as low class citizens with houses and homes don't get that confused when Europeans took said slaves African empires did not know what their people were subjected too how tf could they were the French and Spaniards going to tell them? American history is already distorted as it is a lot being left out slave masters had cook books on how to eat black male babies and men treating them as a tonic that could invigorate their body and promote longevity.     The Department of Justice is responsible for the enforcement of federal laws and administration of justice in the United States. The US Census is conducted every 10 years to gather data on the demographics of the country and ensure fair representation in government.     On the topic of slavery, most people recognize it has been a part of the human experience everywhere, including in Africa, for centuries. But, unfortunately, the narrative that 'blacks' were the universal victims of this practice has prevailed despite how untrue it is and harmful it can be, especially to those emotionally debilitated by it. I have always felt it was important to teach slavery within the context of human expansion, greed, and power. Conquest and the subjugation of the conquered is what was done, including in the development of empires like Mali, which we often glorify, and Great Britain, often condemned. Understanding this perspective, that we are all descended from the conquerors as well as the conquered, the colonizers and the colonized, the masters and the enslaved, the Kings and the peasants, should eliminate some of the victimization as well as the romanticization of our own history.

      However I believe the dissidence lies in the paradox of American slavery . At the same time that a man wrote:
      “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”…
      He had a slave holding up a light and another serving him food. No one in history ever made the claim that all men were created equal by God much less built a nation upon the concept. It is quite the moral conundrum that an Enlightened nation had to circumvent.

      It's the intentional misunderstanding of the problem. I don't know a single person who thinks slavery was limited to the TAST. But chattel slavery was limited to AA slaves. It was specifically designed with a particular brand of cruelty and abuse. Custom made for the people who were sold by their own. And it wasn't for the betterment of their people or status. It was for greed, drugs, and alcohol. They started by selling the "criminals" and prisoners of war. Then moved on to the women children and brethren they had bs beef with. Those of us who actually did the research and dug deeper, know this. They also fought AGAINST making slavery illegal, even when the Europeans (Brittain) outlawed it. They fought to keep selling g out their own. So let's not forget that part. Do your research, and don't be intentionally obtuse.

    The pyramids weren't built by slaves. It was an honor for Egyptians to work on the ppyramids. That was a story propagated by the movies. Slaves did other tasks in ancient Egypt.

    I would like to see this Department of Justice study of the number of interracial marriages. That is not their purview. If the Department of Justice made any mention of interracial marriage statistics, they were likely citing an external source.     Nigerian is NOT a race. We are made of over 300 tribes. So, ancestry should be identifying what tribe people are from in Nigeria. All this I am so many % "Nigerian" doesn't make sense...What tribe in Nigeria?

    I'm sorry. Complicity also infers responsibility. The only difference is that complicit parties weren't the main aggravators/perpetrators or masterminds. However, ALL parties share partial though not necessarily equal responsibility.
    Man's who's saying we need to be careful about saying this is creating a false dilemma, because who is harmed by acknowledging this, when the impact of their complicity has already been dealt?? Acknowledging this doesn't hurt black people. It actually puts us in a place of empowerment to acknowledge and remediate our wrongs, so that we don't keep repeating the same mistakes.
    The only thing that can be "harmed" by this acknowledgment is feelings and ego. Ppl who say this sound like abusive parents who feel hurt when their kids bring up their traumas. 😅

    Frankly, this was not good to listen to. It was all over the place and noisy. When Jelly Bean said "TAKE CONTROL" I ALSO was screaming that. I could only listen to 30 minutes of this fiasco, then I skipped through to "calmer" parts of this stream. I'm sensitive to various sounds, and people yelling, talking over each other increases my anxiety. I'm glad you're not this nice anymore.
