Tomlin...FANTASTIC lesson for those of us who occasionally jam with other folks but are playing the same old predictable licks (yes, massive overuse of simple hole 3 and 4 wailing bends...mia culpa!). Your lessons are the best...thanks, man!
Hi Tomlin ,Just to say your tutorials / teaching are outstandingly brilliant very informative love your tabs and notation . Keep them coming . Rock on man. William.
I got to practice hitting those 1-2and3 notes good and clean like you did in the video, also bending #2 is a big challenge right now...maybe a video on the low end of the harp and any techniqe associated. Thanks for all the great lessons!
Tomlin... you continue to offer up some of the best advice and videos I have seen. These are invaluable for beginners and intermediate players but also exception for those band members that once in awhile need to refocus their attention to details and take it back to the basics. Some folks just "Let Her Rip" on their solos and sometimes that just does not work. The slow build up is most enjoyable for the audience at times. Many thanks and Happy Holidays.
Hi, I’m brand new to this I’ve been learning on a cheap as chips harp, and I was wondering if you could point me to a real starting harp as there is so much choice. Keep up the great work. I find myself watching daily!
Great lick at the very end of your video when you're showing your dot com address. Would it be possible to explain that lick with tabs? Thanks very much...
wonderful , you have such a bluesy tone. love it. i watched your videos, + read your www page on bent notes. dear mr.tomlin, i am a beginner ... one question please: when drawing the third of the chord down to the blue note, down to the flat three (for the blues scale), i can do it from the third to the minor third. but please, how do you start on the already bent note? to play b3 to the 3 in the chord and then the five. - like st louis blues melody. is there a trick ... or just lotsa lotsa practising ?? thanx a bunch chris
Howdy! I am new to this. I have a Hohner golden melody! The problem I am having is, my one hole sounds real bad. I can not seem to get the proper sound out of it. Please, any ideas? Thank you!
Hiya, I’m sorry to hear you are having trouble with the 1 hole. Most people tend to suck it too hard at the beginning which makes it sound like a duck quacking. The key is to okay softer and drop your jaw a little bit. Hope that helps :-)
Hello, I just discovered your channel. New subscriber. I have a question about the cross key calculations. In blues guitar, a blues in the key of A is actually in reference to an A minor pentatonic scale. Which is a relative minor to the C major scale. So... my question is, if you want to play a blues harmonica in a major scale key, how do you calculate that? I'm guessing a D harmonica would work for C major. Because a D harmonica is for A blues (A minor) which is relative minor to C major. Have I succeeding in giving you a headache yet?

Hi Luke, I would recommend starting with a Hohner Special 20 :-)
Tomlin Leckie Thanks for the reply, greatly appreciated... I’ll get Amazon on the job now.

Hiya - I'm afraid this a strategy lesson rather than an actual song
Hey Tomlin...is the backing track for this lesson somewhere on your website?
Can I get the tabs for this solo?

Sorry! My harp is in the key of c.

Thank you Tomlin! I think it sounds a little better. I will keep working on it!

My harmonica is a key of C but sounds nothing like yours why?
How many holes does your harmonica have? it might not be a diatonic harmonica like mine?
