I think its because they work together that even if they interrupt each other they let the other speak. That even though they know what they will say, and can do it themselves, its mutual respect. Also they bounce off of each other's comments which shows how well they work together. I think they all did very well together on that stage. It was great to watch.
@@swr1240 Exactly. I also wish they didn't speak so fast. Nothing wrong with objectifying so as long as you're real with yourself. I.e. Humans are machines that turn planets into plastic waste
The issue is only psycological

I love Mayim. I could listen to her all day. Heather is cool, too.
She has an awesome RUclips channel and I can watch it all day, I concur.
Wow, the way Mayim talks and gets her point accross with such clarity and efficiency shows how intelligent she actually is.
Woman of my dreams 😍
Well she has practiced how to do so while using 3 languages!
This was something I really needed during my quarantine time..made me laugh, smart ppl with intelligence, light but a bit serious. Thank You for making it available for us. Definitely made my day! :)
Adel M. Kedves I didn’t really need it but it was nice......
Yeah! Smart people with intelligence are the best. I’m tired of hearing smart people WITHOUT intelligence talk.
Both of the neuroscientists really had to answer the full gambit of crazy questions. Praise them for their willingness to persevere and accommodate. The information was amazing and I applaud them both.
That was both hilariously funny and truly educational! Thank you!

This is an absolute laugh riot from beginning to end for 127 minutes non-stop. The intersection of comedy & neuroscience is undeniably engaging and captivating. I don't think I've ever laughed and learnt simultaneously any subject for this long.

I'm SO grateful they chose Neil DeGrasse Tyson to be the moderator of this fascinating and enlightening discussion - he is always the educator par excellence. The best part is at the very end, when he makes sure a child gets to ask a question, and she blows everyone away. And his answer is every bit as nuanced and honest as it would be if he were talking to an adult. Thank you, Neil, you are my hero!!!!
Gosh, what an incredible episode. I am smiling ear to ear.
This entire event was one of the best two hours of my life. Such a pleasure and joy for so many reasons.
Which one of the two hours?
One of the best Star-talks yet!!
Plenty of love for science from Kenya 🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
This was one of the best 2 hours of my life.....why can't we have more of this...rather than all the cringe stuff now a days.
watching this was the funniest educational 2 hours of my whole life.
Love how Mayim plays with the string that was under her shoe. She cant let go of it. I love her!
1:17 Neil’s tough-guy/nerd stride is one of my favorite things about him. He’s somehow cool and geeky at the same time. Perfection.
He does a lot of *reductio ad absurdum* type arguments as challenges, I think... appeals to extremes. Usually things he says require some deconstruction.
yes..
i saw that 🙂
.My first star talk. I absolutely loved it and I am amazed and admire Mayim and her many facets. I also found many points of enlightenment in the area of Neuroscience as a Physical Therapist who cares for persons with various difficulties. Thank you all for the conversation.
This was a great experience, beautiful minds together having smart conversations with funny interactions so much good information and very fun indeed. Thank you ✓
First, and foremost, I love how Bill geeked out about Khan. Second, I love how diverse this panel is. We have "Bob's Burger", "The State", Paul Rudd, Bill Nye, "Blossom", and Neil. This was awesome.
hey that rhymes! awesome ! 💛
These two women ruled the show
Yeah Heather gets asked the most questions and she knew how to answer them.
Absolutely, it always bothered me that people portray Mayim as nothing more than an actress that plays a smart person on T.V, but anyone who's ever used the internet know's she's ACTUALLY a doctor and know's her stuff! Dr. Heather is awesome as well and I love listening to her explain things!
Yeah, who would've thought that the only two people with degrees in neurolobiology would have the most to say in a discussion where the brain was the main topic.
What an amazing idea to bring Science and Comedy together in order for the message to reach more minds without being boring. Impressive beyond imagination!! ❤️❤️❤️
If you loved this- me too- check out the podcast 'The infinite monkey cage'. Many seasons going back a decade following this format. Different amazing scientists and comedians every episode.
have you checked out star talk...?
interesting channel here on RUclips, loads of videos, with Neil and others (both comics and specialists) doing just this..
(and infinite monkey cage is good too..) 🙂
Mayim is the best actor panalist i have ever seen. She really did a great job.
Best 2 hours of my life spent on RUclips.
STEM: science, technology, engineering and magic. 😆
Or just say Howard Wolowitz
Well done compiling an amazingly talented and well balanced panel.
I’m currently researching brain chemistry and cognitive therapy and after watching this panel I have a lot of hope for the future when it comes to changing the mind for the better.👍👍👍
Heather and Mayim, I felt slightly ashamed even though I was no part of it.
MAD respect for you.
I suppose comedians on the panel were intended to make it more palatable to people that may not understand the joke, however, I watched the full 2+ hours because I wanted to hear your Beautiful brains. Sadly, I feel we were wronged of that.
Love you both! Awesome, brilliant minds.
It is so interesting to see how fluid these conversations are. Its like their first language and most people wouldn't even have the slightest clue as to what any of this is
The best 2 continuous hours I have ever spent on youtube

He's not a science guy at all.... he's a fraud. I have a degree in engineering,, doesn't make me a scientist,, more like a student of science. He's managed to study-up on a-bunch-a random crap to keep a 'kids' show funded, but he has ZERO degrees to back his moniker.
I think I've watched this 4 times already and its always a blast
reel them in with the comedy, capture them with the science

Those 2 were so annoying and NOT funny
It's interesting to see that Heather and Mayim don't interrupt each other, but everyone else does.
I was actually thinking the opposite, that they interrupted each other all through, though it seemed constructive
I think its because they work together that even if they interrupt each other they let the other speak. That even though they know what they will say, and can do it themselves, its mutual respect. Also they bounce off of each other's comments which shows how well they work together. I think they all did very well together on that stage. It was great to watch.
Tyson is notorious for interrupting. Watch him on Joe Rogan.
Mayim was interrupting Heather constantly! I wish she would let her talk. Heather didn't need the help and explained things better than anyone there.
@@swr1240 Exactly. I also wish they didn't speak so fast. These are deep topics and they could've explored each other's points a little deeper, articulate their thinking and reasoning, express the wonder of exploring the brain etc instead of just quoting the research and their conclusions quickly like they did in some instances.
I could listen to Dr. Berlin, Mayim, or Neil for hours upon hours. It’s my favorite topic, and this panel is so very wonderful!
This was such a beautiful episode of StarTalk. Thank you so much for bringing this pannel together!

Yeah the whole boring was on fire
This was fantastic I thought at first Heather would be drown out but it turned out she was phenomenal at being herself and was helped out by her other female friend that the balance between comedy and science worked out perfectly... perfect panel for entertainment and fun but also thought provoking futuristic thoughts...
Love how Mayim plays with the string that was under her shoe. She cant let go of it. I love her!
Probably a self soothing thing.
I thought it was her hair clip, it looked like a mini clip/spring.
you love people for the most incredible reasons...
Bill Nye mentions the 1918 pandemic, and bam here we are a year later in a massive global pandemic. Another reason why, we need to follow the science!
If only covid deniers could understand it..
oh no no no no, what that proves is that Bill CAUSED the pandemic! Don't you understand logic?
I've got news for you. This was planned and they knew it then. You know how they knew and planned it? Read the dodd report or just look at the pandemic bonds issued to major corporations and governments six months prior to the announcement of the virus. The first time ever for a world Bank backed pandemic bond. Want more proof, look to the largest crimes against humanities trial ever in the history of the world being tried as we speak against Fauci, Gates, the WHO, the NIH, the CDC, governments and their career politicians, corporations who got the bonds while they weren't made available to private owned business, etc. You know who isn't being tried at this trial? Trump and the others who tried to tell the truth.
We're very late, this was in 2014, not 2020.

It is mind blowing to watch the best neuroscientists.
Our brains aren’t broken when we have a “mental breakdown” The breakdown is the mind deciding to fix itself bc you haven’t figured out how to live in alignment with the universe. My mental breakdown while hard and emotional has helped me have a much happier experience in every moment of life. Some of us have to hit reset. Then we begin realizing we have all we need inside each of us and there isn’t anything to worry about. That our life is completely based on our perspective.
