Sir with all due respect i'm putting forth a new hypothesis on Dark matter DARK MATTER POSSIBLE EXPLANATION HI I'm Sreedath PR a normal student studying in India, in the state of Kerala,Thrissur Currently in 11th grade. I'm proposing a hypothesis on the topic dark matter.. If we consider space and time as a single dimension just like Einstein did in his general theory of relativity, we can explain the unknown gravitational source..let me explain.... Let us imagine that space time has mass. But it is so smaller relative to every other matter including subatomic particles like Quarks,etc..But the fabric of space time is so vast i.e it is in fact the same size the entire universe as a whole. This fabric of spacetime is so light, flexible that every other matter warps it.since we had assumed that spacetime has mass by Newtonian physics it should have gravity.Whatever the material is used in the "manufacturing" of this fabric is so light (I would call it "OZTHON" as a nickname),and probably doesn't have any density. therefore any matter would create a dimple or curve in space time and the gravity of that object overcomes the gravity of the spacetime in that small unit of vacuum that it is almost negligible. But if we consider the whole universe we may find that its gravity is very strong relative to any other entities.. Therefore according to my hypothesis SPACETIME=DARKMATTER Any body who is assosiated with astrophysics reading this..please dedicate this to the attention of the concerned research centres and please do inform me..

You people shouldn't fight each other.
@Henry F. Stoddard III Stop watching, then... "Neil, this is how I want you to run your youtube channel..." Lame.
Be an Earth Day hero: use pitchers/carafes, mugs/cups/glasses for water-drinking purposes on stage instead of individual plastic bottles

If you wanted to make America smart again you shouldn't have had Cory Booker on the show.
In Japanese, Saturday is literally called "soil day".
Mon (Moon day)
Tue (Fire day)
Wed (Water day)
Thur (Tree day)
Fri (Gold/Money day)
Sat (Soil day)
Sun (Sun day) *same
American exceptionalism is the illusion that you're exceptional in any way. But I'll give you this: You are a special nation - like everyone else
Believe me, some of the people around me are pretty special. Like the kids that rode the special bus when we were kids.
I love Neil deGrasse Tyson great show
Isn’t it kinda insulting to imply that Americans aren’t already smart?...
It's not insulting if it's true... This is a country of Jesus believers and Flat Earthers on the rise.
lol....actions speak louder than words and um.......anti vaxing anyone?
Yeah, I have no reason to defend flat earthers or anti-vaxxers xD. But I'm referring to... you know... the sort of intelligience that isn't measured by social media.
As a newborn baby you learn at a fast pace
with guests like cory booker this show is taking a quick nosedive. neil i thought you were better than this
@@nonenone5326 what in the world does that have to do with what he said

1:41:06 WOW best way to look at it.
"Let's Make America Smart Again" sounds suspiciously like a low key rip off of Andrew Yang's #MATH.
Because they are both plays on "make America great again" pretty obvious I would think.
This was in 2017
@@NishGrewal that's been stated. Pretty much everyone in live chat said so, they mention 3 more years of trump in the video. I believe that's discernable.

This is more than two years ago.
it's weird they advertise this as a live event now
Need to get Bernie Sanders on this!
Corey Booker stop talking
American Movie Podcast :BOOKER IS 🏳️🌈 A MEMBER .!!!!! .
The point of all this is is just to get people engaged in the conversation... not trash talking the people on stage. The ideas are more important than the people.

"I don't think we NEED to light rivers on fire. I think it's effective!"

"You do not have to attend every argument that you're invited to."
I didn't attend my office meetings ... now I'm fired.
Cory, everyone watching this knows how to research. We know your record. Rather than blabbing along, let the actual scientists give us knowledge, and let the actual comedians give us laughter. We don't need political high-fives. Man any time I get some Neil I love it. But you really know how to ruin a good day. Please just sit silently next time. Thanks.
sad part is... only 4 out of 10 Americans believe and trust science...
public opinions.. if it actually ruled and controlled government.. science would be mauled..
half of the american population.. directly and indirectly would ignore separation of church and state to pass religious influenced polices and laws...
knowing how to research means nothing... literally go on the internet.. the most popular and most main stream things are people "researching" things then distorting and forcing it to fit their pre established bias...
ive met way more people that take the same evidences i see butt they use it in a way to support their own claims/views/agendas/beliefs.. etc...
again... only 4 out 10 americans trust science.. while the other 6 out of 10 dont trust it.. or are extremely skeptical of it.. and not skeptical in a scientific mindset type of way... xb
@@InanisNihil False research and actual research are entirely separate. Neil said it perfectly once. "The infinite knowledge of the internet fell in our laps, but no one included a manual so we could avoid the bull shit." If a reasonable person wants to do research on a politician, what do you do? You look at their donors and then you look at their voting history. Simple research which then can allow you to deduce. Ok. I get that a ton of Americans are still idiots. But we shouldn't treat them like babies and hold their hand. You tell them to shut it and sit down. We don't have time for that crap.
Am watching this 2020, Monday July 6 talk about people protesting 🦾
Oh boring Cory promoting weapons as smart...

Booker wants to make Wall Street great again...... FTG
Fantastic panel and really great discussions.
But.
As a non American, it strikes me as strange and quite alarming that this discussion about science and its consequences is so littered with mentions of "our country", "this nation" and patriotism. How are such concepts of any relevance in discussions about science?
love all the water bottles behind them as they talk about saving the planet.
Mog Street that’s what you have to say after watching this ?
Irony is always appreciated.
We didn't give up our power. The government told us over and over that we have none and the people started to believe it.

I came to the comments and was not disappointed... #ByeBooker 👌🏻😅

Stanford, Oxford (Rhodes Scholar) and Yale Law
I'm only 22 min in but wow. I really wish the two ladies on stage would speak up.
I kept waiting for one of these folks to mention education at the end comments. At the very end Neil nails it.
The only thing we need to be educated more about is Political Reform. For example everyone knows about Global Climate Change. Unfortunately half the People will tell you they don't accept the Data because the Political Party they belong to told them not to. I don't blame Ignorant people for belonging to a Political Party that lines up with their ideology, I blame educated people for doing the same thing.
I had just discovered this channel and i wish that more talks could be done in this fashion in which many members are present for a lengthy conversation. I, of course, understand that the current global pandemic is not a situation that can facilitate this but here's hope to the future.
From 2017 people. calm down.
Anytime period w Booker is aweful. He always smells like desperation.
i don't like the dude. That doesn't mean he can't have moments of smarts. I don't dismiss what people have to say just because i don't agree with it. I objectively look at what they're talking about on said topic. Do i agree with how he caters to pharma no. But am I not going to listen just because of that.. No. I listen to Trump allot. I hate the guy but this hatred was pre-presidency. I haven't liked the dude since the 90s. Does this mean i'm not going to listen to him? No.
WOW, please keep politics out of the fabric of Startalk's agenda! Thanks for all you are doing for science Neil and take care!
One of the things that made science content like this channel appealing is the absence of politics. Everything is politicized these days, and I'm quite honestly sick of it.
Yeah, good idea, let's bring a sleazy politician into the science stuff.
If you notice, the current politics are so upsetting and dangerous that even people who normally have nothing to do with politics are taking notice. Doesn't that move you to have further consideration?
@@Koharduvon Just more people who doesn't know what they're talking about opening their mouths and adding to confusion (or worse, they deliberately mislead people to further their agenda). That's what frustrates me.
@@Psycorde they aren't going on the 10 o'clock news and saying they have the answers. You realize all of this is more complicated than a two hour panel of experts can solve right? @@Ketraar If they so much as sniff money form ppl of power or a corporation, hold their balls to the fire till they learn to respect the public trust that their position once had.
@@arsenalgear3009 Sure, but then explain to me how that has not worked in the past then? Would not holding their balls to the fire now work without making them poor?
@@Ketraar You need both.
1st reason
It's so they can relearn some of their humanity which was dumped in the trash a long time ago.
2nd reason
To understand the pain of living from paycheck to paycheck one must experience it. Listening about it isn't enough.
Having said all that, if there aren't ppl who will hold them to account and punish them according to the law, nothing will change.
Have a good one
@@arsenalgear3009 Indeed, the crux of it is holding them to account and THAT is the key, but that would require people (voters) to actually do their part and that is not just voting, but also get informed and active, starting local communities, being and enacting the change and stances one would like to see. Its easy to just blame elected officials and then sit at home and do nothing a society is built from the ground up and elected officials will be based on that society, since they are "grown" in it and not fabriacted to be politicians.
How old is this episode? Booker keeps saying the "first one hundred days." This episode is uploaded 2 years and 3 months post "100 days."
This is a mystery that is going to have to be solved. One of us is going to have to read the description. You go and I'll keep watch.
That was so amazing. Even the politician came through and all of them just said such powerful things.
Do you think that maybe someday Neil DeGrasse Tyson will be part of the lexicon of human legends.
Wait, he isn’t already a legend? In my mind, it goes Wild Bill Hickok, Wyatt Earp, then Neil Degrasse Tyson.
Sir with all due respect i'm putting forth a new hypothesis on Dark matter
DARK MATTER POSSIBLE EXPLANATION
HI I'm Sreedath PR a normal student studying in India, in the state of Kerala,Thrissur Currently in 11th grade.
Therefore according to my hypothesis SPACETIME=DARKMATTER
Any body who is assosiated with astrophysics reading this..please dedicate this to the attention of the concerned research centres and please do inform me..
Booker and the title is 100% ruining the reputation of Neil deGrasse Tyson.. rip
