    Hi Mikey.
    I live in Indonesia. I have made 2 pairs from different yarns.
    One pair (using thick nylon yarn) is used for driving motorcycle during hot days.
    the spaces between stitches makes my arms well ventilated, while protecting from sun ray.
    The other pair is used for warmer while sleeping. It use wool yarn.
    I made the second pair very long, close to the armpit ( like opera gloves ).
    Both use 5mm hook to stitch.
    Your design is very simple, easy to crochet, not so many fancy stitches, yet the gloves are very funtional.
    So simple, that I can add or reduce the stitches to match my arm size. Then this design can be made long or short.
    Just to say many thanks for sharing and teaching how to crochet.
    Look forward to learn from other project of yours.

    This is a great pattern. Thank you for showing it. It's so easy to resize that I was able to use a smaller hook and make my 2 year old a pair as well.

    I made these, but mine are longer (lines 14-17 repeated a third time), then I added a border since I didn't use two colors. I instead used gradient yarn (slow fade from black to grey to white and back again). I then used a thinner black yarn (with a smaller needle) and went twice around the three openings to give it a crisper finish. If I'd used the two colors I probably wouldn't have wanted the border. Mine go from the second line on my fingers to the crease at my elbow. I can't believe how well they fit!!
    This was an awesome super quick project. I'm making a "tuck scarf" (like a super short scarf or wrap around collar that fastens together) to go with them. I'ma be cute and warm! Thanks, @the crochet crowd!

    I just made these using 5 colors which was a first for me. I'm barely above beginner level and the 5 colors carrying them all the way up was a nightmare for somebody with my experience level. but it goes really fast and they are easy easy easy to make! they are fitted perfectly for the way my arms are shaped , but I added four rows because I wanted them to go all the way up to the Elbow. just fabulous pattern and tutorial! I have been searching forever 4 fitted long arm warmers. or just something Lacy to cover my forearm that's in my skill level. this is perfect for what I need!

    Made up 2 pairs of these last night. My daughter needed a petite pair so omitted one of the rows that goes around the fingers and added the thumb hole on my 3rd row. Also made total of 13 rows as she did not want them so long.
    I did notice that when I jumped up to the next row my chain 4 and double crochet always made a slightly bigger hole in the crochet, so have experimented and a chain 3 and double crochet may help if anyone else has this same problem. ***Thanks for the easy to follow tutorial!***

    I just wanted to tell my experience with making this gloves. On another channel, I found this pattern in a slouchy hat, and was thrilled when i found your glove pattern, but i did not have the thick yarn like you are using. I had Red Heart Super Saver yarn in black and pink. So I decided to add a few more stitches to the width. I thought, will I have to change the length? But, it came out absolutely beautiful. I added around 10 more stitches to the beginning chain, and that is all it took to make mine perfect using the Super Saver yarn. If anyone wants to try this using a number 4 yarn, you will have great success just adding 10 more stitches to the beginning chain, and then just continue with the pattern as usual. One thing that I did, that I thought made if more attractive and more durable, was to add a border on the top and the bottom of the glove, and the thumb opening. I felt that it made it look more expensive and more finished. So, if you do not have the thicker yarn, don't worry because you can still use this pattern with a number 4 yarn.

    Love, Love this video and pattern!!! Made a pair for my oldest granddaughter, used Red Heart Reflective yarn. Awesome!! a little expensive so I used one ball in the reflective and one in just a bright bulky weight red heart yarn. Made matching hat not only does this look soooo cute but it adds a element of safety at night. Now I am trying to make a pair for my 2 younger granddaughters they are thin and with small hands,and the pattern is a little to wide I can't seem to figure out how to make it less wide. .making the glove a little shorter is easy. . If someone has made these for thinner hands and would share how that would be great. thanks!

    • @chrochetfan7274
      @chrochetfan7274 7 лет назад

      hat, probably not, scarf, probably not. You could use it for support for the walls of the bag/purse. For the purce, wse the chains to measure out before starting the pattern :)

    • @marigeobrien
      @marigeobrien Год назад

      @@chrochetfan7274 Much belated thanks. I did make a gorgeous tote bag using this a few years ago. I made the base by making an oval then, when I started the sides, I worked the back loops to create a permanent turn in the yarn. I'm re-visiting this pattern now (2022) because it occurred to me that this could be perfect for a sweater. At least, I'm going to try. I'll make the body as one large tube and the arms as two smaller ones, gradually decreasing. Done with a finer yarn (WW4) and worked from the bottom up, it should be great. I just have to figure out how to do the neckline. This is possible. Perhaps I'll add a solid color and an alternating FPDC/BPDC and make a turtle neck...? We'll see.

    Just a note on your narraton:
    I had to keep going back and "rewinding." You do the decrease at "row eight" and then you talk about " row 10-13" and don't even mention row number nine. I thought it was just me not listening at first, but this really threw me off on a first time follow-through. I kept counting my rows and just wasn't sure where I'd messed up because you were already on row ten. Just a note for future reference! :-)

    • @SilverGemini

      The pattern calls for bulky 5 yarn. You're using a 4 yarn, it's what I call the average yarn thickness. So yes you need a thicker yarn. :D
