Bought this car 3 weeks ago in dark grey definitely head turning. There’s a few things they can improve in regards of interior tech. But the overall satisfaction is 9/10. The best part of this car is the Hybrid engine the advertise MPG says 44 but I’ve been getting 48-55 driving the speed limits and releasing the pedal to allow the battery to charge.
@@chango6393 How many miles do you have on the ODO since new? And when did you get your first oil change (also what engine oil do you use?) I ask because those numbers seem low to other prius owners I have been asking.
I just bought the 22 Accord hybrid sport and I cannot get better then 36-37 mpg while driving like granny..I wonder what's going on. It has 100 miles so engine is new.
The transmission isn't what you think of as a CVT. In fact, it isn't even what you think of as a transmission. The engine is not connected to the wheels at all. It drives a generator, and only an electric motor drives the car. Honda engineers call this an "electrically-coupled CVT", since there is no relationship between the engine's rpms and the car's speed. Instead, the engine operates at its absolute best rpms and power, regardless of car speed. (That is, until you floor it, and it revs to max power at 6200 rpm.) The paddle shifters don't shift gears, they affect regenerative braking. Specifically, they change how strong a slowing effect you get when you don't press either the accelerator or the brake pedal. So they function like downshifting in with a conventional transmission.
Great explanation! Thank you! Honda's hybrid system is difderent from other manufacturers. Some even say it's transmission free. I never got too deep into it so thanks for explaining and for watching!
@@MattTheCarguy It's all a matter of language. "Transmission" means the act of transmitting power from one place to another. Every car has a _transmission_ _system_ that gets power to the wheels. Some people will call the entire system a "transmission." A gas car has to include a _gearbox_ in the system, that lets you shift gears. Some will call just that part the "transmission." Electric cars - and this Accord really is one, just powered by a generator instead of a battery - don't need it. So it has none.
@@RobBro19 Since they stopped making the manual transmission, each engine is paired with one transmission. There is no crossover, but not all trims cone with all engines. The 1.5L turbo has the conventional CVT, the 2.0L turbo has the 10 speed automatic you are thinking of, and the hybrid has the eCVT (which really isn't a transmission).
It has no transmission. You're correct, the combustion engine serves as a generator, and the car is driven solely by the electric motor below 45mph. At higher speeds the combustion engine is engaged via a clutch. No transmission needed, direct drive whether by electric motor, or combustion engine, or both.
Thank you!. Its a different feel tgan camry, more stiff but i a good way, i think its planted on the road better. But test drive both as people like different things. Not sure as far as the heated steering wheel. Its been a while since i filmed it.
I like the car except for the screen, that display screen is pitifully small. My new Subaru for the same price came with an 11.6 inch screen and a really nice sound package. Overall though, if I needed a daily commuter, I would get this one out of all the other brand hybrids.
Thanks for watching! I really like the new Subaru screens! Honda needs to update their infotainment size and software. It is not bad, but needs a good refresh. Same with Toyota.
Its been a while since i looked at it, but from what i remember my friend who is a golfer has one and has no problems fitting his golf bag in there. Maybe other golfers will chime in 😀
I'll wait for the 23-24, they need to: 1- Make a bigger screen, 8-9' like the new Civic. 2- Upgrade audio system to BOSE like the new Civic. 3- Make the apple carplay & android auto wireless without affecting the quality of the sound. (idk if 3 is possible)
@@MattTheCarguy sadly bad time to buy this car, at a local dealership the touring is at $43k, not including any accessory. I think retail is $36k for the touring.

The accord used to be my favorite car. But they just have lost their ways because this car looks 6 years old already. For the same price, you can get a lot better tech in Toyota.
Thanks for watching! Really, you think Toyota has better tech? I would agree with Kia and Hyundai but Camry still has the same tech as they did in 2018 and looks very much outdated. Accord just revealed their redesigned 2023 model. I hope to get my hands on it when it comes out.
Matter of personal preference. I think sonic gray pearl looks good, just so many manufacturers overdoing the gray in the last few years. Thanks for watching!
An advise for you, this is an hybrid vehicle so do not test it like a sports sedan. Please review cars based on what segment they are targeting. Bad review.

Q1. How is the quality of intwrior materials?
Q2. At what test speed did you get 48 to 55 mpg?
@@k2229 interior materials are good not premium but most of the parts are solid and No squeaking. 65 on fwy and 35-40 on roads.
