No country in the world embraces the aesthetic and the quality of a hand crafted object to the same level as Japan. Throughout the country, there are still back-street workshops for everything from paper making, sashimono woodwork, ceramics through to master knife makers. You'll probably find that some of the finest knives are probably a similar price to some of those beautiful Grand seiko's. This attention to detail is ingrained in Japanese culture and you can see it every Grand Seiko.
You guys have officially put HODINKEE in your rear view. Your story telling is fresh and relevant, production value is just fantastic. I’ve been following T&H from the beginning and it’s so cool to watch you guys grow. Bravo 🙌
This is setting a new standard for watch channels. Whoever did the music crushed it - except for that generic, ho(din?)key number for the spring drive - the rest actually felt like it was telling a story. Rare for these things
I love the ending of this... let's call it short movie. Everything starts with calmness, precision and a zen atmosphere and the ending gives you this boom with the loud music: "Now you understand Grand Seiko! Now you truly see the philosophy behind this brand" and this gives you like a little eureka. I hope filming and editing this movie was as joyful as Christian eating the masters sushiart and as joyful as us watching it. Much love to the whole team from the northern part of Germany.
This is nothing short of beautiful. The juxtaposition between sushi chefs such as Mr Nakazawa and those behind Grand Seiko was not only very fitting, but excecuted very well. Well done 👏🏼
Wow just a beautiful piece of film! Great job! This is a great coincidence to have since I just got my first GS yesterday, the SBGJ241 and it does live up to my expectations after scouring YT for every video on GS.
The reflection of the pursuit of perfection using the same philosophy displayed in other disciplines that the Japanese culture has nurtured is a beautiful way to showcase Grand Seiko. Thank You!☯️
What a wonderful video and content. Thanks. The selfless dedication to improve on all aspects and the attention to detail is beyond extraordinary. Grand Seiko is unique.
Some people listen to the rain, or the sound of the waves in the ocean to calm down. I listen to this video. SERIOUSLY THANK YOU Joe Kirk, Chef Nakazawa, Christian and Michael for to me, is the best video you’ve ever made, and further more maybe the best video about grand Seiko ever made. GS and T&H for life! 💥 watch fam.
Y’all have come SO FAR from that video where Christian needed to be convinced by Anna that Grand Seiko was worth the attention. BEAUTIFUL video. EDIT: Watched it again and felt spine tingles. So. Good.
Amazing video on what makes Grand Seiko unique in luxury watch market. The case, dial and hand finishing are on par with Patek Philippe at a fraction of the cost. This video shows amazing craftsmanship of GS!!!
@@marcocastagnetti7086 I think your missing my point initial impressions on viewing GS in person is it provides an amazing value for what you actually get. PP, VC and AP are on another level no debate there but for under 10K you can't beat GS craftsmanship
@@sylinmino But bracelets are part of the watch, too. You can't buy a Snowflake without paying the price of the bracelet. And when you pay for a great watch, you should expect a great bracelet coming with it. GS should listen and engineer better bracelets. Starting with clasps that have 4 or more micro-adjust positions. And I say this even though SEIKO/GS are my second all-time favorite watchmakers.
@@inkhaurt5812 I mean I agree that GS should make better bracelets. But I don't think it should be a dealbreaker. GS makes actually pretty good ones right now, but that's as far as they go. Good. Not amazing like everything else.
shots like 3:494:54 and 9:21 are incredible. This is probably the best visuals I've seen GS outside of looking at a loupe. Thanks for the much needed tranquility this morning.
This is what we want to see on yt! Not just pictures of great watches and tons of macro shots ... it's about the people who wear the watches, their story and why these watches fit them and their lifestyle. I love it. Please do more stuff like this! Well done! Ps: Wasn't even a big Seiko fan, but after this video I'm interested in taking a deep look into their watch catalogue 😊.
To watch the evolution of Theo and Harris has been truly remarkable. T&H have always provided solid and creative content, but this is a pivotal moment for watch content creators. Thank you for showcasing Grand Seiko's rich history and creating an experience that's unforgettable.
I was wondering how this amazing video can only have 54k views, then I realized it's only one day old. stunning videography. the music, the macro shots, the overall calm vibe. I'm going to watch it again. and ofc, stunning watches from Grand Seiko!
I just acquired my first Grand Seiko. It has changed the direction of my watch collecting forever. For me, now, the only manufacturers I want to collect are Grand Seiko, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Sinn and Glashutte Original. I have never been so impressed with a watch before as I am with my rand Seiko.
One of the best watch films ever! Nice intercutting. Aside from the quality of the film and it making me want to leave for Japan right away, it highlighted GS so well. I think most people in Europe and the US still don't get just how good GS are. They're compared to Rolex and Omega, but in reality they're a higher level product made in far smaller numbers, but at a similar price. In many ways they are the equal of Holy Trinity brands, just not using precious metal and decorating their movements so lavishly. Actually, a GS is a far better watch than a Nautilus or Royal Oak.
I have a 211 Snowflake and I am so impressed with it. It opened my eyes to Grand Seiko and made me far more critical of Rolex and the “holy trinity” who seem to be trading on their name and whose movements are now decidedly out dated.
Take a bow. THIS is the message that was missing from GS marketing. THIS is the type of visual storytelling the brand needed. Watch out Hodinkie. T&H is legit af.
Beautiful and so well done. I truly enjoyed tis video and the story telling. Thank you for this and I plan to buy a Grand Seiko one day soon due to the history and the love put into it.
Having tried on Rolex OP and DJ, I can say for sure that the polishing quality on the case, hands and markers of a GS is far superior. I find myself staring at the dial sometimes for nothing more than to admire how it plays with the light.
I am just in love with Grand Seiko. I can see perfection in those amazing pieces. I have 3 of them, each with a different movement. I thought that would be my goal. I was wrong as I want to keep getting more and more. Great video, it basically shows a culture, the Japanese, looking for perfection.
Just a note there’s a small translation error at 1:10 he says August 22nd, not August 2nd. Beautifully shot and beautifully told story. Makes me look forward to the day I’ll be able to step up from my Seiko 5 to a Grand Seiko.
I have an unpolished gold cap grand seiko from the early 70s, and the shiny parts still reflect perfectly, and undistorted. Its not exaggerated the watched are simple, but they strive to perfect simplicity
Kudos to Grand Seiko and Theo and Harris, truly a work of art
I was 70% sure my next watch would be a GS, now I'm 100%.

Well stated!
I have just one word for Grand Seiko:
RESPECT
I'm Irish and work with the Japanese everyday. GS craftmanship, perfectly define their culture. I wear the SBGA413
Maith an fear!
That’s a beautiful model I own the snowflake
I too wear the SBGA413. It is an amazing timepiece.

I know this is about GS, but all of a sudden I have an overwhelming desire to wear a shrimp on my wrist.
XD
I don't know what to say.... a stunning piece of film; beautiful & evocative - something you've every right to be very proud of. Congrats 🎉👍🏻

Combining by favourite food with one of my favourite brands this is an outstanding short film!
My biology teacher said 5 minute break but it looks like it will be 11 minutes
Um, this video is AMAZING. Thank you! I will be sending it to several of my watch nerd friends immediately.
The best video this channel has produced in my humble opinion
Two things happened while i watched this 1) it made me hungry and 2) made me want a GS abit more than before .
At this point you have outperformed Hodinkee in terms of your videography
Wrong! Hodinkee is still on top
@@87channels nahh my man, Hodinkee’s cinematography looks like my friends recording compare to this
Amazing job by both Grand Seiko and Theo & Harris. Watching this while wearing my King Seiko 4502-7001 Hi Beat! GS puts most Swiss to shame!
A great story. Please bring back more Anna in your vids. The variety is welcomed and she adds to your content. Thank you.
Wow, what a great film!! Thank you for that.
Just think the grand seiko cost just a fraction of a ton of luxury watch brands. And to me one of the most beautiful watches in the world 👍
Fantastic storytelling of the beautiful Japanese culture!
A really, really compelling story about what makes Grand Seiko not just amazing, but truly special... Stunning film. Excellent work T&H team!
I see (& hear) you Joe Kirk! Keep up the great work!
Joe Kirk is killing it in the US. GS was so smart to find the talent and let him do good work.

Great story telling and metaphor for GS. Your team is really stepping up the video production. Thanks!
Nothing so beautiful as a skill learned, then shown as a simple surface which has depth in view and thought.
Really excellent video! Glad you finally came around to Grand Seiko.
I have not seen a better video on RUclips. EVER.
The quality and production value of this video is simply outstanding. Attention to detail and story-telling were fitting for the subjects discussed.
Watched this while wearing my SBGA407! I am so privileged to own a Grand Seiko! Great video!
