all of these people who commented years before me. they were a part of a FANDOM, once bustling and full of life. Having just joined this fandom earlier this year, i did not realise just how popular this was in its time. the feeling can only be described as walking through an abandoned city. i can see everything that made people fall in love with this amazing webcomic. its music bringing people together, its characters cosplayed by fans for nearly a decade.
Andrew Hussie has truly made something amazing.
I just wish i had been there to see it happen.
I joined far too late for anything before the epilogues. I will never understand the patient waiting of dedicated fans during the gigapause. i will never understand how homestuck fans crashed several websites to see [S] Cascade., some of the best flash animation in web comic history. I will never know how it feels to be surrounded by people at cons, crowds of people, painted grey and wearing shaped clay on their heads, who all share one common interest, this incredible webcomic.
it saddens me to know that such an amazing creation could just be ignored so easily. there were years of my life where 4/13 went by and it never crossed my mind that this day may be important to hundreds of thousands of people, each sitting at a computer or tablet excitedly reading a new update, and celebrating the beginning of something truly incredible.
i, regretably, was not even aware.
of course i knew the name homestuck, but i never knew the true extent of this name. i never knew about the webcomic behind the name. I knew vriskas face, but i couldnt put a name to it. i just figured it was some dumb video game or anime. i was so quick to dismiss it that i never even thought to look further. i can now see the mistake i made. I followed through, and read the comic. i understand now why so many people adored this comic and its characters and its plot-twists-from-hell.
I understand.
if i had only been curious sooner, i could have gone on this journey alongside others. i could have had friends that read it with me. i could have cosplayed any character i wanted.
but its too late.its all over, and i missed my chance.

I actually found out about Homestuck as it was ending and I at least got to see the credits come out, then the game and then the epilogues. I, too, truly wish I had known about this wonderful webcomic earlier... :(

Oh my I only notice now that the violin (?) is actually Rose's house (with the waterfall and all) even the pines make think of Rose's house, and actually everything is linked to Rose... and I never noticed.
And the album begins by referencing Endless Climb, the song that was first featured when Rose first entered her planet

Symphony Impossible to Play is a quote taken from Rose's monologue on her natural [S]ound page, her equivalent of John's "The Note Desolation Plays" monologue
I fell in love with this album years ago. It evoked emotions that cried out for understanding, the feeling of an immense challenge spreading out before you, a land to conquer, a world to create. I thought, at the time, that it was the most fitting song for a game about escaping the end of one world and partaking in the creation of another. I came back to it again and again as Homestuck continued, vaguely disappointed that it hadn't made its appearance yet. Why hadn't we had an amazing flash showing Rose conquering her land, and learning to play the rain?
It was worth the wait.

I can't help but laugh at the anthem. It's just an epic version of Elevatorstuck, which is a song I just can't take seriously.
The original is just called Homestuck or Homestuck anthem.

Act 7 is so much better now that the Epilogues played off of the somewhat unsatisfying parts of Homestuck's ending.
At around 1:30 a sitar-like sound comes in and it's kind of the most amazing thing ever?? And all these hand drums = joy
I do love a good hand-drum.

Saphire Kit This may be a bit late, but you can always buy the songs and then transfer them onto your iPhone from your computer! That's what I did and now I have around 60 songs and a Homestuck Ringtone :P
