I love the content for the 3 loads you booked but I would also love to see what those calls that you turned down sound like just to have a more realistic idea even tho I know its more time consuming so I do appreciate the disclaimer of how many calls it took to get those 3 loads. Your channel is so informative & I'm just grateful you providing this free game.
Nice video, I wanna learn to negotiate like you, I also would like to see how much your cost per mile increase when you add the rest of the expenses (Office/terminal staff salaries, your salary, terminal expenses, IT company, etc). Thank you Ronen
Thanks for this video... very educational for an owner op like myself thats leased onto a carrier and dont have to deal with customers booking loads Ive done it in the past when i ran my own authority and trailer Ltl is the way to go. I never booked full loads on return to my home location. Always booked LtL shipments and often my rates ended up 2 or 3 × what the regular rate was for that lane....
Im a young company starting I have 2 trucks and the way you are moving LTL is litterally my goal in a few years. Do you have a video on how you calculate LTL rates? Thanks for all your videos they are amazing.
That was only 7 skid, he booked 2 more similar shipments to complete the load of a 53’ trailer, that is the advantage of having terminals, he collect the freight brings it in and when the big trailer is full departs to destination
if you add it up he is doing the trip from gerogia to CA for $5100 (1800+1900+1400) for roughly 1100 give or take p/u & del miles. Thats good money tbh but u need the infrastructure for it for sure.
Hi Ronen, thanks for the valuable video I really appreciate your efforts. My question to you if the cost per mile is 1.9 cent per mile why an owner operator working for a large/ mid-size fleet accepts 1.5 to 1.7 cents per mile, are they running at loss in this case?
Yes. These bad companies never teach cost per mile because no one would lease on if they were shown they were making negative cents per mile. It is my biggest frustration with “owner operators” you are a small business owner and you better know your numbers /accounting. Freight rates freight lanes etc…..
Great instructional video of how all this works. Thank you! Off topic I noticed one the loads you booked specifically requested a straight truck for delivery. Is this a bad time for someone to start a box truck business?Ive been keeping up with what people are experiencing on DAT.. people are not happy to say the least with brokers..
Ronan what was your companies profit? In the beginning you said your cost's were $1.90 a mile but on the 3 loads you booked it didn't seem like you were clearing any profit because you were going over 1k miles. Just wondering if you can help me with the math on that because I liked your rate and cost breakdowns
For reference if your first load you got for $1900 and the trip was 1070 miles 1070 miles x $1.90/mi = $2033 that would be the cost to run your truck correct? But you only charged them $1900 so would you guys be taking a loss or did I not understand that portion of the video?
@@PeteyPabloXP He took LTL loads so he probably took 2-3 loads for one truck. I guess for this run he had around 3-4$/mile. 1900$ + 1400$ is already 3300$ and he probably took something else as well.
I’m trying to become an owner operator and this is my biggest fear that’s holding me back how to book my own load and how difficult it will be to get the loads with a new authority will the brokers work with you being a new owner operator
Hi Ronen. Just wondering how would you deal with the following situation. A while ago I accepted a load going to Indianapolis delivering on Thursday 8pm, that's what broker and confirmation stated. Just to find out when I got to the customer that the load delivers on Friday 8pm. So now I am stuck with refrigerated load for an extra day running continues for an extra $150 layover fee. Not to mention that now is a weekend and I can not find anything till Monday. I'm sure you ran across some of those not so truthful brokers. So how would you deal with that?
A company I was running under 83/17 split closed their door, with one day of warning and they cut their fuel card. They owe me $4k along with 30 other drivers. I would really appreciate it if you could give advice about recourses we could take. (They’re based in Jacksonville Florida. Drive logistics).
I'm so sorry to hear about the challenging situation. Reach out to a lawyer familiar with labor laws and trucking to explore your options and rights. Collective action from affected drivers might be a route to consider. Wishing you the best in resolving this issue. Stay strong!
I been interested on joining the field. I love that you are willing to school and share your knowledge and experience with others. Question do I need a business license & bank account to use the platform. And can I haul with out a mc #
In one of your vids you mention it's worth it to pay extra for a dispatch service & how much you should pay. Which vid was that? Do you recommend any in particular? ATF is the only one I see on RUclips. T4TV'S

First broker is full of bs,a professional lier,if he has many people interested, why he's load is still on load board? Crap stories ,fcfs and you have to call the shipping, waisting your time. I'll let him to know that my time is more valuable.
Pss BULLSHIT! That brooker got at least $3,000 for that load! Whatta rip off! Instead of asking what they are paying, we should be asking what they got paid for the load.
Theres a way easier way to get your Cost Per Mile. Theres a company named INTELLITRUX I just logged in and answered a few questions and they did all the math for me and it was free.
Hey ET! Following up on this! Ever heard of the Truckstop load board? We have a partnership proposal for you! Mind sending us a good contact email for us to connect with? 😀
