Just made this for dinner. It is AMAZING!! The only thing I changed was adding some diced bread and butter pickles to the sauce, as Claire suggested (which is sooooo good). Thank you, Aaron and Claire!

Thank you for learning English and making videos in a second language, I appreciate your efforts in these videos. I have so many recipes to try thanks to you! Also, I'm sure this recipe, along with any fried chicken recipe, is possible to be done in the air fryer to use less oil. Thank you Aaron & Claire!
Love your recipes. I tried a few and they were delicious.I am definitely going to try this one, it looks amazing. And do you have any recipe for sweet and sour kitchen ?
This is one of the most delicious looking things you’ve ever made. Deep frying is a little intimidating for me, but I just might give it a try for this.
I sort of agree, though while I like add ins in my egg salad, that much onion would at the least make it an atypical egg salad. But it is definitely not what Americans would expect from a traditional tartar sauce either. And now I'm wanting to try a tartar adaptation made with chopped kimchi for some reason.
It's giving a french sauce gribiche, which uses boiled eggs as an emulsifier, but the flavors are a bit different. This egg sauce is pretty common with chicken nanban and super delish!
With your amazing cooking, I wonder how you and Claire stay so slim, surely the Gym you attend must be ready to sponsor you. I'm getting your book for my son for Christmas.
Hey Aaron and Claire ✨💖 what’s the difference between this dish and a Korean chicken dish … if there was a Korean version, how would it be different? Thank you guys💖
I totally get that! I usually strain and reuse the oil a few times for similar dishes to make the most of it. But if deep-frying still feels like too much, you can try shallow-frying instead. It’ll still give you that golden, crispy result, and you won’t feel like there’s so much waste. 😍
Did you know that the term Nanban actually represents Portuguese and Dutch trading with Japan in the 16th and 17th century? Actually this is probably a Japanese take on a originally European dish 😁

This is one of the most delicious looking things you’ve ever made. Deep frying is a little intimidating for me, but I just might give it a try for this.
Most tartar sauces contain chopped pickled cucumbers. It can be sweet pickles or just dill pickles. Both taste great in tartar sauces contain chopped.
Absolutely going to try this. Thanks
I'll do this this week!. I may add some capers to the tarter sauce
That sounds like a fantastic idea! Hope you enjoy it! :)
Claire, have you gone off cold beers? Great video as always.
FYI; Your tartar sauce if you leave out the lemon juice and ketchup is actually egg salad in the USA. Your dish looks Great as always 👌 👍
Thank you so much for saying that!! 😍

Thanks for making! We lived in Nobeoka in Miyazaki-ken, the home of chicken nanban. Great place, great people, and great food!

What do you do with leftober oil? I hate deepfry as so much oil i wasted. Can you do it in airfryer?

I am so hungry now after watching that. I can make it for breakfast, right?
Sure! Absolutely! 😁
FINALLY!!!! CHICKEN NANBAN!!!! MY PRAYERS ARE ANSWERED!!!!
Did you know that the term Nanban actually represents Portuguese and Dutch trading with Japan in the 16th and 17th century? Actually this is probably a Japanese take on a originally European dish 😁
Actually in the 1500s. 🤙🏽
I still find it weird that Japan’s “tartar sauce” is more of a loose egg salad. In the West, it’s usually a mayo w/ diced pickles and/or dill.
Tomorrow is my birthday. Any special dish form from my brother side because you are my brother
Can you confirm is that lemon juice actually Yuzu?
I like Yuzu better than lemon or lime. It'd be nice if it was easier to find in the US.
❤❤❤
*saved*
OMG!!!
Egg salad
❤
✨👌
🎊 ♥️🍗
Looks great, but that is not what we would call tartar sauce in Europe. Tartar is mayo, capers, pickles and dill. That is more like an egg salad.
Bro, Japanese fried chicken
As a black man, I love fried chicken and i approve this message. 😊
The fact that you add sugar to all your dishes makes it bad.No ty
If you know he adds sugar to all his meals why do you watch them?
Not to mention, you know you can either not add it or substitute it for something else 🙄
