She passed on the 1st and 3rd balls i would somewhat consider those outside pitches that she honestly should be swinging at shes forming her discipline to only hit balls down middle those outside bounces step that way toward the ball and rip
Best to get them hitting what they swing at fist..this drill is 1 level above tball. 😂 they can pitch ball in air and hit by themselves on their own time 😅
Maybe softball is different somehow, as I don't really know but I would think hitting is hitting. You should never fall off balance like that, especially when hitting "meatballs." More core strengthening would really help. Nice 'inside out' swing though. I played Triple A ball, (Gwinnett).
Yeah, the first thing i noticed was how unbalanced she was but she doesnt lose balance until after shed already be headed towards first base. Still though, better to try and remain balanced after the swing when practicing.
@@EricFloyd-lt5dx Not sure you can make that correlation...🤔 Falling off balance doesn't mean you can't hit the ball...but in this case she is a very young player, practicing. This needs to be corrected in her workouts and not ignored because Barry Bonds can do it. ✌

I don’t see it as crazy at all. It may not be all that necessary, but any type of hitting is better than none. And doing it in a variety of ways challenges the body and brain.
PVC tube with a giant funnel on top. Make a stand for it or a rig out of some aluminum tubing or some wood. Hover the pvc pipe over the bucket. Make a spring loaded sliding door attachement with another door on the other end and some extra tubing to connect to the main one like having two water hose diverters next to each other so that when you pull the first door to release the ball, the rest of the balls don’t fall out. You then close first door, open the second door and once the ball is in the chamber you close the second door. Now release the first door and repeat. Throw a bunch into the funnel and adjust the height for different bounces and you are good to go. If you made an electronic mechanism to operate every 15 seconds or manually, you could have the batter fly solo for warmups or operate it for them. You could include a random launch setting with a drop time between the max legal limit pitch timer and the fastest time between two pitches just to focus on reflex. Even a setting with random where you can totally customize the window as desired would be neat. Manually, this would only cost 200 at most.
Soft pop to Shoet stop.. try a two hoper n the gap! Yea this testing is ball placement .. both bounces outside she laid off were smart choices..very good mechanics…❤ it.. if u can take it live drive oppo and get that follow thru she has that balls traveling guys n gals
Your bat is a extention of your arms power hitting placement hitting bunting & sometimes our strength is different choak up bat for placement, shorter heavy bat for power power ect.great work.
I play travel ball and on Thursdays we do batting practice and this is what we do for practice and sometimes we do a scrimmage with our team. One on field other batting then we swap❤
Not plastic, I meant nylon, like what tents are made out of. If pulled tight, they offer enough resistance for bounce. I think Rubber would cause a higher bounce than wanted
This is a great idea! I use this with my girls all the time. The hand letting go of the ball allows them to get ready and the ball hitting the bucket is the pitching “releasing” the ball.
She has to swing at all of those cuz nobody ever swings at outside pitches. Defense is probably set up for a pull and the outside pitch can send the ball oppo
The problem with this drill is that the instructor doesn't point out to the hitter to not Lean back into the rear leg as she is hitting the ball, but to keep the weight more balanced/central or a little more forward into the hit so that her body power stays into the hit not backing or pulling away from the contact. She hit the ball solid but with less power. He says at the end "nice, that's the way to be adaptive." He should have also pointed out her weight shift issue. The drill itself is good. Those of you watching it just remind your players & coaches to address the weight/balance shift as it is equally important.
Not a good drill when the batter has to fall backwards in order for hips and hands to clear the zone after contact. Find another way to develop rhythm. Another gimmick
I’m not sure why she passed on those other ones because she could’ve hit them to right field. That’s called adaptability. Waiting for the right pitch is not adaptability.
She should be swinging st the ball that is on the outside. She is only swinging at the ball that is bounced in the middle. Coach should be telling her to swing at all balls middle and away.
Not trying to be too harsh, but her swing was off-balance. Notice how she stepped backwards after making contact and following through. Either step just a little ways away from the plate or put the ball out farther in front of the plate so she can swing properly just my opinion keep up the good work.!!🥎💪
Hold the ball in your hand on the tips of your fingers and let her slap the crap out of the ball. If she hits your fingers instead of the ball, you'll know it wasn't a solid hit.
Why is she elbow down, then up when its time to perform. That's Iike not having your leg bent in a standing sprint position then downing down to the correct angle to push off after you're supposed to be gone.
Love how the bat goes A/B and solid mechanics.. she has a good swing
That is not how she swings🤨
Her bat goes B A B. She literally pulls back to swing.
Na
Hope he don't get his teeth knocked out

Some of those outside corner pitches would be a nice opportunity to advance baserunners.
that was a liner to center not no homerun😂
Can u explain, I’m new to baseball
@@nofurtherwest3474 the center field woulda caught that most likely
@@bb.3lia good hitter wouldn’t hit an outside pitch up the middle, a good hitter would follow the pitch and hit it on the right side of the field

My coach had us practice batting with golf balls. We won the championship two years in a row...
If you actually did this, you’ll wreck your bat.
what did you guys hit the golf balls with because if you hit this with an actual bag your gonna damage your bat
In cricket it is usual shorts..😂
The golf balls were wiffle balls he had some batting practice using weighted bags....
Should be taking cuts at pitches on the edges of the zone, not just wheelhouse zones.
Adjusting to what is delivered is real situation hitting.
Good point. I had a drill, during batting practice, where the batter had to swing at every pitch.
Best to get them hitting what they swing at fist..this drill is 1 level above tball. 😂 they can pitch ball in air and hit by themselves on their own time 😅

Falling off balance is fine after the swing. Look at bonds swing.
Bonds is a one-off...it's still not very sound as far as hitting mechanics go.@@EricFloyd-lt5dx

Keep working you’re already amazing❤
She’s really good at that. and me and my dad practice in are front yard but it’s a small front yard so I hit the ball to are neighbors yard .
Great drill ❤
I just randomly came across your channel, my daughter went to your indoor clinic this winter. This is bridgewater, NJ, correct?
NICE!! ❤❤
Oh that first 'pitch' was so perfect....right over right field's head!

There's no substitute for a live pitcher. Repetition is great but nothing better to improve timing like live pitching
Brave dude. I'd be wearing a batting helmet and catcher's mask ...better safe than sorry..
What a great drill!
my coach makes us do these all of the time. it's great for things like timing and also is great when working on forms
Love it
I love that drill sm
Good hit!
Slay queen she ate that up
Looks like a fun game… but how is this working on timing? Maybe accuracy?
No it's a softball game
Is the point to only hit perfect bounces or swing at everything?
thanks! great drill!
Nice such a great swing good mechanics, straight fundamentals, killing it🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
What a great drill.
Super shots
If she swing at outside pitches it would go farther !!💗
Take that outside pitch and drive it to right field 😉
Yes!!
She should take that outside pitch oppo... Cool drill!
Yeah bad choices to swing she made..
Soft pop to shortstop...
But we coddle them as he says "great"...

Good pitch just try to adjust your drag because you can injure it
what did they use over the bucket?
Good job
Helps hand eye coordination.
Will do❤
I do that drill all the time it is one of the best drills out there!
Now I am trying that at my softball practice
What's on top of the bucket that gives it the bounce? Great drill! I'd love to try to use it?
Plastic bag
It looks like some kind of rubber, I don’t think a plastic bag would cause a ball to bounce
Yeah rubber makes alot more sense

What is on the bucket that makes the balls off?
That’s very smart of the coach! Great swing too!

Its a good practice also to learn to hit “ bad” pitches.. because in real time as a batter you will… nice job with the bucket.!
Nice but dropping her back hand a bit! Straight swing from shoulder to ball! Drive the butt into the middle of the ball
I will try this it looks fun and smart
What is on the top of that bucket that makes it able to have the ball bounce?

LA28 OLYMPICS READY GET HER IN
Very talented
How is this different than side toss??? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Cool but I can tell the drills are getting a lil bit outtve place. If ur already a good hitter swing at those pitches on the corner
Wondering why shy falling back? Plus not taking ball that is falling right and drive it to right side?
We actually did this at practice a few weeks ago. It was kinda fun😂
Why? How is this better than regular soft toss?
Bc it helps with timing
@@Dominic_baseballso does soft toss

just anotherr way to do it🤷
What is she doing. Why did she not hit all 3 i dont get it
Is the bucket empty or full,of balls?
Her taking the outside ones is driving me nuts!!
Jammed herself, no weight control. Great learning experience
I’d like to see you hit
I did a ball drop drill against a fence to develop bat speed.
Man swing at those pitches on the edge
I’m not sure why she passed on those other ones because she could’ve hit them to right field. That’s called adaptability. Waiting for the right pitch is not adaptability.
Bomb 💣 🔥
What's the purpose?
Why not stand behind the screen and bounce directly at your hitter🤷🏽♂️
Also known as “the bucket breaker drill” 😂
Those pants would look hotter if they were wearing mascot costumes with them🥰🥴
What, you can only hit one type of pitch?
I have that bat it’s really good
Not sure why you let those pitches go. They would be outside corner strikes. Weird drill🤷🏻♂️ giving bad habits

She’s standing too close to the plate with her arms tucked in. Back up and extend the arms to increase bat speed and power.
Just like investing. Wait for something in your sweet spot and knock it out of the park! 💰 😊

Maybe the drill is a timing thing but I see your point
You'll get a few good bounces to hit..

Hold the ball in your hand on the tips of your fingers and let her slap the crap out of the ball. If she hits your fingers instead of the ball, you'll know it wasn't a solid hit.
Not worried about a foul coming his way
Why fall away? Stay solid.
She's letting very hittable pitches go by. If they pitch you on the outside corner those are strikes.
Great drill
That great until you get struck out on pitch. That's a ball and not a strike from bad umpire, then the game changes
Why is she elbow down, then up when its time to perform. That's Iike not having your leg bent in a standing sprint position then downing down to the correct angle to push off after you're supposed to be gone.
Was doing this 25 years ago in Howard's garage.
I did this with my coach and I broke his wrist 😅😅😅😅😅😅 so yea
So she can’t go to right field is what your showing me? Then I will always pitch out and away from her.
She has the same bat as me and I’m obsessed
random but anyone know why softball diffrent from baseball
She just gotta learn to hit the low and outside pitches also. Then she'll be deadly.
Unattempted ball will travel long if it is hit
That is what we do
She only swings at pitches that are high.she would pop most of them up at full speed
