- As I continue my racing career in four wheels, it’s time to step up my game for the longest rally yet, the Lorca Baja in the EU Baja championship with Defender. This has to be one of the best European rally events. I raced the Bowler Defender rally car and the dream team! - navigator Chris Hammond, dedicated Bowler tech support from and of course the wider Bowler team. It's a big race... 2x 175km special stage of the dusty hot barren Spanish terrain on Saturday.
My first ever long endurance event with four wheels seeing us tackling over 400km and I managed 33rd of 75!! Like what!! 💪💪
Even more impressive was being just 18 minutes behind the first place Defender that was driven by a professional team and only 6 minutes off 3rd place driven by a multi time Dakar rally Finisher... that's just minutes across the 6hr+ time racing.
Considering a little over a year ago I put my bottom in a rally car for the first time, it's incredible the progress the Bowler driver programme has given me.

Well done Vanessa! Another blast on 4 wheels once again shows that experience on 2 wheels helps with 4 as well giving a better appreciation of traction, braking and steering in other vehicles. An interesting racing number that, '46' was the number that Valentino Rossi used on his bikes who is arguably the GOAT of 2 wheels. I guess this could now possibly be 'Girl On another Trek'. Thanks for sharing.
You are 100% right on this! Having done some serious navigation and terrain reading on 2 wheels and transferring that knowledge over to 4 wheels has been super beneficial! Ohhh interesting, maybe a sign hehe

He's one of the navigators the Bowler align with drivers but when I find a new car for post baby (as sadly the Bowler relationship has ended with the pregnancy news) I hope to have Chris continue with me
