    I really enjoy watching you shoot Eric. So many things to learn, just watching your skills. Very impressive indeed.
    I have used your advice to craft my ammunition and it now shoots dead rest tied down, no meat stick inducing errors, better than I am capable of doing behind the gun.
    Now to master myself and push to 1000y.
    Thank you for a great channel with outstanding advice

      I bought an X-bolt 7RM from a gunsmith that retired from the marines that had built rifles, the rifle had been his Elk rifle, he was moving on to a 300WSM. I'm a decent shot, and based my time in BRM, better than most though I never achieved 40/40, & not by any means a competition level shooter. I've shot paired twice using 175 Federal with that rifle. The first time it happened I thought I'd missed the target completely with one round; the range master pointed out one of the holes was slightly oval, and then commented "that's impressive shooting", the second time it was a little more obvious. This ONLY happened with 175 gr Federal & after I started bringing a .22LR along and shooting 50 rounds through it prior to picking up the 7. Obviously I don't know what was done to the rifle, I know the barrel is OEM, after picking up a new x-bolt from a shop, would say the trigger has had work done. It came with a Zeiss Conquest scope.

    They tied on the aggregate, but Omar won, since his last shot was an X, and Eric's last shot was a 10. That's called a "Creedmoor". Either way, that's a tough position to win from, with them fellers chootin' on it. Omar can build you an F-class rifle for sure. Curious what bullet Omar is sending - I've used the 215 Hybrid Berger, and it is pretty nice.

    Interesting curious Erik your finger on the trigger and when you pull the trigger your finger jumps off the trigger I would figure you would keep the pressure back on the trigger after the rifle fires would love your feedback is it just your mechanics or do you do this on purpose

    • @11mchristo
      @11mchristo 7 месяцев назад

      Keep in mind, Erik's trigger pull weight is 1OZ...which is why you see him slapping it instead of squeezing. You can't squeeze a 1oz trigger. No "follow through" required.

    • @Leonarco333
      @Leonarco333 7 месяцев назад

      Exactly right. That trigger is so light that any pressure whatsoever will break the shot. You can’t squeeze it. He’s not slapping it, he’s tapping it. It looks like trigger slap because of recoil, but it’s a very controlled tap. It’s the only way to fire a rifle with a trigger that light.

    Thanks fot the video Erik, just one question: everyone always told me to hit the trigger with the last part of my finger and than keep it tight, you are doing exactly the opposite: hitting it with the tip of your finger and than excaping the guard...I guess you can do whatever....but...what's the right thing to do for a semi/beginner? Thanks a lot

    • @11mchristo
      @11mchristo 7 месяцев назад +1

      If you have a 1oz pull like Erik has, you can do exactly what he does. There is no squeeze...therefore no follow through. The bullet is long gone.

    • @Leonarco333
      @Leonarco333 7 месяцев назад

      I always pull the trigger with the pad of my finger tip unless I have a trigger that is a few ounces then just use the tip of my finger. The goal is for the force to be only straight back. If you use the joint of the finger, you can add force left or right and that is enough to throw off your shot left or right.

    How do you read the scoring? 40-2x. What does that mean

    • @11mchristo
      @11mchristo 7 месяцев назад

      The bull, worth 10 points, consists of the 10 ring and the center X area. So in your example, so far, the shooter has a score of 40 with 2 Xs. 40-2X means that the first 4 shots were all in the bull, with 2 of them landing in the center X. The X, while counting the same as the 10 ring for score, is used at the end of the match as a tiebreaker for shooters that finish with the same point total or "aggregate" score.
