that's intentional enemy behavior! the real reason for that is... the Toad and Luigi game sprites were just waiting inside the pipe they had entered. that's how it's programmed. they wait inside the pipe until the game force loads the next area. but putting programming aside. yes... that fish was ACTIN UP
Butternub beat his first playthrough faster than everyone else with a bad control setup. Truly a masterful gamer. There's none quite like him honestly.

This might actually be one of my favorite Mario challenge videos. Everyone in the video was hilarious, and the dynamic was somehow perfect. And the gameplay itself was brilliant, and it never got boring because it would always change. And seeing their reactions and how they dealt with it was just so entertaining. You guys could have beat the game at 25:30, because you instantly die if you re-enter the pipe, so they disabled the randomizer for that pipe. Edit: I got some details wrong.
Because of the full black screen (for loading) between each transition, you could string together all of the cases of "exit a pipe and then immediately enter another one" in a random order to make a wonderful sort of chase sequence If the commentary is sufficiently also separated by the transitions too, you could keep the silly audio too
The biggest time save i found was going right at 6:03 which would've skipped to 33:55, but then there would be less content and we would have missed so many funny moments.
