It always give me goosebumps how the creator of these frames implied they are the most powerful and perfect frame every created, and it’s only limited by the skill of the pilot
Man this game is almost 20 years old. I can't think of another ps2 game thats aged so well in terms of graphics and gameplay .

Nowdays? In general we get 50-100GB + of souless, repetitive emptiness.
Most of that is textures and sound files (and cinematics if the cinematics are not in-game)
Yeah. Thats really sad. Modern videogames are all shitty facescan, boring artstyle and 50gb full of realism textures and uncompressed soundfiles
Yea because this was so original. This game, all the armored core games, all the gundam games, and every single other giant mech fighting game where you fought as part of a faction saving the universe or something.
@ratchoon Still disagree. There are literally thousands of games being made every year by studios that aren't run by AAA corporations that are more unique than anything that's ever come out during the ps2 or any other era. People are just too lazy and jaded by childhood nostalgia to spend 10 minutes doing the research to find something that appeals to them these days and just expect these big companies like EA, 2K, and Ubisoft to deviate from tried and true money-making formulas that appeal to the largest audience possible and make some obscure ass game that will only appeal to a fraction of the community. Just spend the time you would complaining about mass produced games and use it instead to look up some cheap games on steam that are less than 5gb and can run on a garbage ass computer and you'll have thousands of options. Same goes for consoles to a lesser degree. Just look a little harder than the "top sellers" page on your console's store dashboard and you'll find plenty of unique games.

Armored Core was good but not as appealing as ZOE
I dare say that we never will; AC, Mech Warrior and the sparse console Gundam games have their merits but simply can't match this game's production value, characters or atmosphere. ZOE 2 is a criminally underappreciated and underrated game.

Sure ! I like it a lot but for me the smash on the head is Titanfall 1 ! Heavy mechas (thats feel heavy!), when they drop em from space and it lands on the ground in such power! Love it. They are thread, the game changers.
@@christiangagnere Jehutys not supposed to come off as a heavy mech. Thats literally an apples and oranges type comparison. And tho I love Titanfall, there have been many games to duplicate a slower, heavier experience. Theres even a debate to be had about which Titanfall depicts heavy mechs better.. the first or second, even jf the game is more nuanced and imo much better in tbe second. The physics and mechanics are vastly different in the first game, and has a charm unto itself. For fast mech action.. ZOE 2nd runner has no equal. And Titanfall, while not trying to, cant even compare when jt comes ro that.

Probably the most awesome opening trailer to a video game in history. After playing ZOE1 then firing up 2nd runner to THIS caused me to lose my shit. Stunned aint the word. And the music is everything

Omg. I remember sneak-seeing my dad play this game for me bc I cried upset not knowing how to beat Tempest. He secretly never told me he finished it. He never plays video games btw.
Come now, I just cleaned up our storage room and found the 1st game’s dvd. And I remembered how upset I was that I never played it again. So I decided to RUclips someone finishing it.

A time when games had it all: Story/Plot, Originality, Gameplay, Fun, and Epic Soundtracks. It was not uncommon for players to get emotionally attached to the characters/story. They used to create truly remarkable experiences wich you would carry for you Life, as happened with me on this game.
Nowdays? In general we get expendable games that are souless, unoriginal and repetitive.

I remember buying this the week it came out, I was a senior in high school. Played through the first one in one night because I rented it for the MGS2 content. The first one blew me away.
This one? I wasn't expecting much and it absolutely surpassed every expectation I had. There were elements in the gameplay, designs, concepts, and characters that were eventually copied in various Mecha themed anime.
It wasn't just ahead of it's time, it was immensely groundbreaking and a masterpiece. I wish I could play it again for the first time.
How few people know about this unbelievable gem of a game, NAY, dare I say piece of media perfection? After 20 years this hasn't changed one bit! This is, without a doubt, whether or not you like the game, the PERFECT trailer to any game, showcasing not only the storyline, but in such a perfect way, and combining it with all the gameplay that makes this game stand out not only back then, but even up to this day! Un-believable!
Zero shift is what really made this above any mech game ever made.
With high speed + zero shift it still had smooth gameplay. How was the ps2 able to keep up with everything going on on screen

I can really feel Kojima's editing prowess. Maybe I'm wrong and its another unknown mastermind's work, but as a viewer its d.n.a really fits in line.
Great game, I played both demo's and was really happy with the 4k version.
This intro makes me shed a tear or possibly two😅. There's only two things that do that to me in this world, and it's the end of the Fast N Furious when Paul Walker parts ways in his white Supra, and damnit, this intro for ZOE 2nd Runner!😭😂
This amazing game should be remade with the same soundtrack, voiceovers, plot, and gameplay. I would love to play it with todays graphics too.

i'll never forget listening to this song while fighting a rathalos as solid snake in peace walker. one of the peak moments in my gaming history as 3 of my favorite franchises clashed together in beautiful symphony. ZOE is forever one of my top favorite games of all time.
1:15 in the original trailer, that said that Hideo Kojima directed the game. They cut out all mention of him this time around :(

This is probably one of the best openings to any game ever
There are so many things I could praise about this game as it's probably my favorite game of all time. One neat thing that I didnt think about though was how good the english voice acting is, which isn't really that common for a Japanese game. ADA's voice in English is literally flawless - the perfect english rendition of a conscientious assist pilot AI.
That's got to be a joke. This game is known for having some of the worst voice acting of its time. Dingo barely has any emotion, Ken's delivery is nearly as stiff and awkward. Only ADA and Leo do an alright job.

The quality of a sequel... that depends on the skill of the developer... only developer worthy of producing zoe3 is Kojima.

I really hope this game gets a PS5 remaster (yet again lol). I'll have massive incentive to buy one then, might even get it from a scalper. It's just THAT good.
it would be great for them to either do a full rebuild from the ground up in ps5 graphics on both games, or just make a zone of the enders 3 on ps5. :)

The original PS2 version was already stunning, and this remake simply makes it beyond ageless. It is truly a spectacularly beautiful game.
Oh boy i forgot how amazing this games are, also the dubbing work is quite amazing.
This is definitely and all ways will be one of the best games I ever played! And I'm STILL a gamer. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I play all my games on hardest level and when I say intense, this game had me captivated til the very end. I was excited & sad simultaneously when I beat it.

so happy to be able to play this one on PS4, and got the chance to saw the Hd collection who got the 1st one too poping on my ready to install games on xbox one, and they both loo and feels awesome . the 360 version as already much closer to 60 fps than the ps3 vers. but now it all smooth on both . i wish i could have the first on PS4 and Mars on xbox .. sometimes i don't understand these things... but maybe it will come later .. like most thirs parties PS4 titles we thought were exclusives....

Kojima had very little to do with the development of Zoe, his role was over exaggerated for marketing purposes. Shuyo Murata was the director of Zoe2 and deserves all the props.

I'm old enough to remember when this game was once considered 'Mature.' How our moral standards have laxed in only a decade and a half.
Blood and violence is not the only thing that makes media "mature". I know the esrb classifies it according to those standards but this game can sometimes become fairly political.

Sorry to break you, but Hideo Kojima doesnt have any intention to go back at Konami, and Konami now only care about mobile phone gaming and yugioh. They dont even wanna rerelease back any collection of anything that have Hideo Kojima name on it, still lets hope

I finally found it! The demo I played over and over and over in my child hood. What an incredible game, how many games use a mini anime series todo its story? If anyone doesn't know, you can buy it on steam I just found out. Mind you people say its a bad port so it may not be worth its price so you can always emulate it.
This ones needs a real remake it is going to be fantastic .
