At least everybody was more honest during the 2016 hypebeast era. We all knew we just liked cool clothes which were trendy for the most part. There's this really synthetic feeling layer to this new stuff and it makes me uneasy. The price difference too is just wild.

Trying to be ”different" has actually become the new normal and half the time people claim they enjoy clothes in general but the truth is they worship name brands and follow celebrities like sheep. I think one of the biggest things missing in the discourse is the authenticity of the past in another video you spoke on the 19th century and the ubermensch jokingly but I think it actually a very good point during this time journals like De Stijl was a forum where the leading avant-garde artists could debate the direction of art in an authentic and open manner. People weren't afraid of being perceived in the wrong way this allowed for the furtherment of art to happen in an almost empirical way. Fashion must do the same and it's up to our generations to create these outlets of discussion for the furtherment of art/fashion.
You said something about "the hypebeast has evolved into flexing traditional luxury brands." I was in an Unknown Vlogger Outfit Worth video back in 2017 when I was 15. I am 21 now. I stepped away from streetwear when I started college because the flexxing and brands were just making me feel insecure, because I was more than a walking billboard. Just wore stuff like Patagonia and Ultraboosts for a number of years. Like a year ago I got back into the scene and am rocking stuff from Demna like Vetements and Balenciaga. I think Demna design still has a heavy Iykyk vibe if you aren't getting the gaudy pieces with branding plastered. I think I only wanted a sense of community through fashion without showing the world that I'm a walking billboard, which I think the brand does well in a lot of cases. I think some of the outfits are doing too much but I think we're still in a better time loop than hypebeast era. At least I am, I feel a lot more comfortable with what I wear now than I did all those years ago.
What I think is the most crazy thing is that these streetwear brands are marked up by probably 4000-5000% of their original cost to manufacture. People put way too much value on branding with no regard for quality.

Honestly most of time i think to hear the brand, then to try to dress of how they would dress, with the patterns and styles and colors, is like a funny challange i do. My favourite so far is the Balenciaga vibe, and often Gucci, when i go for Balenciaga inspiration i go fully black shirt matte shirt, black leather tie, long leather coat, balenciaga like weird glasses for the touch, with my western black cowboy hat, and semi matte black suit trousers, with a plain black belt, and it has that Balneciaga vibe to it, when i go for Gucci ,i love to go for Brown suit jacket, and often if i want to go full into it, i go for brown suit shirt, with a white tie, eventualy a tie that has some green+red on it, and a black belt, with the brown suit trousers that have same pattern as jacket, my white cowboy hat, and eventualy if i feel like i spice it with some neon like green glasses with rhynestones (i worn them in my pfp), not the best green i could find 💀💀💀but does the job, anyway that's just an idea, or if i just don't want to inspire my self from anything, i just go for full white, white tie, white shirt, white suit pant, gold bucklet belt with white belt, and golden jewlery ,and my white cowboy hat!!

Keeping us fed
they're buying the brand not the actual clothes/designs I see myself doing it
this is top shelf aged single estate cringe, exquisite.

another fashion house TV banger...! wowza.
another banger by the underground goat of fashion discourse and consoomerism. is this what end stage capitalism looks like? O_O
adidas sweatpants.... $1000
even the most ridiculous outfits here still look better than box logo supreme and skinny jeans, much prefer this era to 2017 shit probably because this fits my personal taste more
balenciaga really the new supreme
Idk bout that 😭
Honestly most of time i think to hear the brand, then to try to dress of how they would dress, with the patterns and styles and colors, is like a funny challange i do.
@@ProdGothicyou're right it's even more cringe somehow
