- How is everyone this week? great I’m hoping, Now Slag melting today as a lot of people have asked for it. The bar came out perfect and is an awesome addition to the shelves there was a combination of metals in this alloy lots of zinc copper aluminium and a little bit of Tin. Obviously brass and bronze is in here as well but that’s just an alloy of what I just mentioned, sit back relax and enjoy today’s video and see you all again sometime next week😁👋🏻.

HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it??????.

I watch a lot of your videos, been watching for quite a while now and what i would like to see is you getting a 3D print of your dogs so you can do a bronze or nordic gold cast of Ingot and Bullion.

@@shibasarekewl7704 Wait is that how it works? It never occurred to me that people would dislike just to try and game the system in their favor. This explains so much! But dislikes are a clunky and downright insulting way to do this. Some creators take dislikes quite personally. This is so strange from a lefty website with woke owners always trying to preserve people's feelings. Why not just have a button that says "I am not interested in this type of content or this specific channel exactly, don't show it to me again, ever." and leave the like/dislike bar alone?
Also while we're at it, why not give the end user more direct control over recommended. Rather than try to guess what the user wants based on their behavioral patterns, just let them tell you! Let them rank video tags based on the interests they already know they have, or preferred channels. "I want all new BigstackD videos as #1 priority on top of my recommended feed, always." Boom, you'll never miss a BSD upload ever again.
Just imagine a website of the scale of RUclips, that empowers the user by allowing them to curate the content they want to see themselves in clear and obvious ways rather than this like/dislike hidden engagement metric BS. Or a combination of both methods. Isn't that what Steam's been doing with their platform for years now? It's awesome over there. I've built a user profile using hundreds of games + the regular "under the hood" data points and now the algorithm almost always feeds me games that are right in my alley.
But wait if RUclips would allow us to fine tune the algorithmic god ourselves, that would run contrary to their attempt at establishing their Orwellian Hegemony of Thought. Ah shoot, turns out one cannot have the best website ever AND destroy their ideological enemies at the same time. You've got to pick one! You're move Suzan!

@@bigstackD I hope you can answer this one because I'm struggling. I bought a devil forge because of your channel. I have came a long way but have one issue I can't figure out. I have no problem melting large amounts of copper and pouring it into several small molds. The issue i have is pouring one big ingot. I always get gas bubbles making holes in my bars. How can I fix this? Thanks.
I just did some calculations. Before I begin, I apologize for using Imperial Units. American so it's what I was taught to use. 1 year ago today, April 10, @BigstackD Casting had a collection that weighed 801 pounds. Now his collection has increased in 1 year's time to 1271 pounds. 801 pounds is roughly 36 percent of his goal of 2204 pounds, or 1 metric tonne. 1271 pounds represents roughly 57 percent of his goal, an increase of 21 percent toward his goal. Assuming that stays true for coming years, Big Stack D will reach his goal in late April or Early May of 2023!

On a personal experience note, I made my first noob mistake in two years and hundreds of hours with smelting, last night. Poured brass into a poorly heated mold. I’m good, but my face shield and Apple Watch are ruined. A few small burns.
Preheat your molds, people! That explosion is terrifying.

Should've added carbon lubrication (cardboard, wood, etc.) like you did last time to prevent the fire brick from sticking to the crucible (this could be a sign that the fire brick is deteriorating from the heat)
what do u do with a mixed bar like that? you can't sell it. is there a way without chemicals to seperate the metals??
