Loved this! Like I said over on IG, started going there as a kid (around 5?…) and still our absolute must stop restaurant if we’re in the area - or we just make an extra trip. lol We ate there so much when we lived in Burbank lol Why not?? lol That hamburger has never changed. It’s the best burger ever, because the second I see it, I go right back to being a kid. Bob’s spoiled me with their *cold* salad. It’s the only way I’ll eat it. And I always have their Blue Cheese in the fridge. lol. Thanks or this superb retro video! Miss you guys! xoxo
Another awesome review of this classic restaurant. It is said that The Beatles dined at that Burbank Big Boy location in 1965. They sat in the last booth on the right as you enter the restaurant. People fight to sit there. Thanks for sharing, Bill and Lisa.
I was born in Burbank and we lived there until I was four. However, my grandparents always lived there, and when we visited, it was a must that we eat at that Big Boy restaurant. Thanks for the memories
I worked for Bob's big in 1981. I waitressed my way through beauty school working the night shift. I loved it and was super fun. Bob's big boy had Standards.
Yeah I ate there when I was a kid in the 70's always loved it, been a minute since I have seen a Bobs restaurant since I live in Northern Cali, thanks for sharing.
When I worked in Yorba Linda 30 years ago we used to go to the Bob's Big Boy for lunch and get the hamburger fries and a coke and small salad along with a hot fudge cake
I have fond memories going to the Bob’s Big Boy breakfast buffet too. My Dad and I would go together to bond when I was little. I remember their biscuits and gravy along with their potato medallions.
Been waiting for this. Bobs was always our favorite growing up in the 60s and 70s. No doubt our favorites were always the Big Boy Combo and the Chili Spaghetti. So many good memories. Thanks for this special video.
This was a treat. I grew up in Glendale, and I would go to Bob's all the time in the 70s and 80s. I always would get the chili spaghetti or the Big Boy with fries. Great memories go way back. I still go to this one in Burbank on occasion. My dental office that I go to is only a block away. You have to try the french fries with Bob's famous Blue Cheese. It's great. Thank you Bill and Lisa! Love you guys. I'm addicted to your channel!
I grew up on East Coast. Have great memories of Bob's Big Boy. They had a breakfast buffet, which was always such a treat when my parents would take me. Thanks for the nostalgia!
I grew up in Burbank and always went to bob’s big boy with my dad, it was his favorite spot. You must get the milk shake which use to come in a metal cup and you always got the extra shake. I miss BBB and I miss going with my dad, the best childhood memories for sure!
Aloha Ohana 🌺! The memories! I love Bob's Big Boy! My go to is the big boy combo and frosty milk shake! The chili spaghetti looked delicious! Thanks so much for the review ❤
I was actually a waitress at bobs big boy in Monrovia ca. the waitresses hand made the onion rings in the morning before opening. On the weekends the high school kids would come in late at night and order French fries with a side of blue cheese dressing to dip and lots of hot fudge cakes. Fun memories btw my pay was 2.12 an hour lol
When I was a kid, our family would occasionally go to Bob's Big Boy in Buena Park across the street from Van de Kamps Coffee Shop which was a restaurant shaped like a windmill. My grandmother would always get the Big Boy Combo. It was exactly like a Big Mac. Salad was always with 1000 island for my grandmother, really for any of our family members. But it was only $1.99. It went up to $2.99 with the big inflation during that time. Gas even went up to 79.9 cents/per gallon for Super at the 76 station. When we went for breakfast, Bob's had a thick-cut French toast which had a crispiness to it with a lot of powdered sugar. It came with either maple syrup (probably fake maple syrup) or boysenberry syrup, since it was close to Knott's Berry Farm who invented it. Dessert was a hot fudge sundae. The three places we would go to breakfast would be Bob's Big Boy, Van de Kamp's Coffee Shop, or Sambo's Restaurant.
Went to this location for the first time a couple months ago and I asked if they still deep fried the French toast (that's how they made it crispy back when I was kid in the 70's) and they said yes, but you have to ask for it. It made me so happy to eat such a nostalgic treat.
God I miss Bob’s Big Boy so much you guys are eating all my favorites down to the salads but always got the Blue Cheese dressing they make the best there!😊😊😊😊yum!
Wow, such great memories! I still try to go to this Bobs whenever I am back in the area. We always get the Big Boy combo, a chili spaghetti for the table, and hot fudge cake. Yuuuummmm!
Oh my!! We used to have one near my first home and we’d go to the Sunday breakfast buffet which was HUGE and so delicious!! Thanks for the memories guys!! Your fan in Florida, Cindy 👱♀️🌈☀️🧡🌸
Amazing back in the day the number of movie stars who you used to see at this Bob’s Big Boy. Probably not as many today. Another great video! Other Bill
YEEEEESSSSS THAT'S SOME DELICIOUS LOOKING FOOD WOW😋😋😋😋. THANKS FOR SHARING ANOTHER MAGNIFICENT VIDEO, KEEP UP THE INCREDIBLE WORK 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😁👍🏼😋😋😋😋 YOU TOO ARE SO FUNNY 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you for this! New Subscriber!🥰My Grandpa used to take me there when I was a kid in the 60’s. He worked for Lockheed & we lived in N.Hollywood. Such great memories🥰
I was hoping they still had the hot fudge cake and they do! I miss Bob's in Hawaii. Definitely have to hit that place up next time we're in LA! Thanks for sharing Bill and Lisa!
Hey Lisa!!!!! Hey Bill !!!!! I remember when we had Bobs Big Boy here in Las Vegas, there chili speghetti was good. Thanks for this video. I might make some one of these days? Great to see and hear you guys ❤ 😊
Oh the memories of Bob's Big Boy! Was my dad's favorite! Now, as an adult, I realized it was the waitresses he favored ...haha we liked the wedge salad hamburger combo that came with hot fudge cake!
AT BOB’S BIG BOY, WE LOVE GOOD FOOD JUST LIKE YOU DO…… ON THE DRIVE TO LAS VEGAS FROM SAN DIEGO, WE ALWAYS STOP AT ONE OF THE LAST BIG BOYS TO RELIVE MY CHILDHOOD AND HAVE SOME GREAT FOOD.
We had a Bob's Big boy in Riverside CA. ! Awesome ! 75 Years ! Bill & Lisa how about checking out Big Bear Restaurant ! They have homemade pies ! I know they are nation wide ! Thank you for sharing ! I love never frozen items ! Yummy tummy Goodies !
WOW! Bob's is still around?! I grew up going to Huntington Beach Bob's Bigboy with my grandfather when I was 8 years old. Now I'm almost 60 years old! Good food! My grandfather lived through the depression and would leave a dime as a tip! Later, it became a quarter! That location was torn down decades ago.😢
I remember Bob's in Torrance, North. My parents would take us for dinner or breakfast. My brother and I would always get a Big Boy cheeseburger and a sundae for dessert. And don't forget the little magazine for kids with all of Big Boy's adventures. That restaurant was there forever. Then it closed down and became a Coco's or something similar. I'm not sure what is in that area now. A couple of years ago a Bob's opened by our house in South Torrance, But it didn't make it. Now it's a Black Bear diner.
This was another great review!!! We don’t have Big Boy in Canada but I do remember stopping at one years ago when visiting the US… You are doing great only 30,000 to 100,000 you are on your way woot woot
OMG! My very first summer job was at Kip's Big Boy in Richardson Texas in '73! This vlog brought back such great memories! Always believed that McDonald's stole the Big Boy burger & renamed it a Big Mac! Never will forget the police department getting burgers for the prisoners. Those were the days! Cheers! Gloria
Yes Bill everybody loves big… chicken breasts 😂😂 that restaurant is so cool, I’ve seen this on a document and have always been so interested in find out some more about it. Thanks for sharing Lisa and Bill xx
Bob’s Big Boy brings back great memories for me and the location: Erie, Pennsylvania! It has been closed many years now but it was a happening place to eat and I enjoyed many outings to Bob’s with Family. Thanks for the memories Folks ❤😊
I grew up in Burbank. We used to go there when I was a little girl and they had carhop service. My sister and I still go and have brought our kids. Every once in a while for the nostalgia of it we still go. You’re right on the border of Toluca Lake I used to think Bobs was in Toluca Lake. Reminds me a lot of my mom and dad the best childhood memories. I’m 63. All the plates used to come with a little plastic triangle dish of salad. It’s funny how places like this try to keep it the same and keep up with the times. I think they should’ve just left it the way it was. Pappy, Parker‘s fried chicken, the burger and we used to call that chili Mac. I think where some of the most popular things to have there. We used to go eat the burger all the time. I don’t know if it’s still very good but back in the 60s and 70s it was delicious. Lol.
Hi Lisa and Bill. My dad took me to Bobs Big Boy in Lakewood Washington. Fond Memories. I remember that my hamburger had thousand island dressing. Milkshakes were excellent. Great review as usual❤
Hi Bill! Hi Lisa! How fun! I would definitely make the drive over for some nostalgic eats. I love chicken and waffles! There’s something about sweet and savory for me. I do have to say, that the garlic bread, definitely brought back memories! I could almost taste the char from the griddle! Thank you both for sharing your yummy dishes!! Take care!
I remember in the late 60s early 70s bobs had a combo with the burger salad and fries served on a plate with three sections. And the thousand island dressing was the best!!,
I grew up knowing Bob's Big Boy as Shoney's here in north Georgia. I'm 56, and we ate there a LOT. It was a popular night out with friends and after church, too. Their salad bar and breakfast bar were bangin'! Sadly, all area locations here have closed down.
I remember going to Bob's Big Boy Restaurant in Burbank, CA when I was a kid with my family. It was a great Restaurant and experience. The food and staff were excellent. The burgers, Pappy Parkers Fried Chicken was to die for, the shakes were thick and rich, their salads were wonderful, the Onion Rings were piled high and cripsy, the Chili was wonderful and I fell in love with their Blue Cheese and Rougfort Salad Dressings. OMG! ❤😊 I miss living in Southern California so much. 😢💔
We had a bobs big boy here in Lake Havasu AZ that was such a childhood nostalgia spot, they’ve been closed for something like 20 years now unfortunately like all the others that aren’t in LA
Awesome to hear that some of the nostalgic eateries are still in business , since a lot of places have closed up due to the economy ❤ all the places you go to , you keep us informed from your travels , stay safe ……👍
Another great video!!!😊😊 used to go there in the early 80s in torrance. I remember those burgers!!! Thanks for doing this review of Bob’s Big Boy. I lived in La Mirada in the 60’s when I was very young and we went to the one on Whittier Blvd in Whittier. One month we were family of the week (or month) don’t remember for sure. Hot fudge cake is still our families’ fav dessert. So nostalgic! I always love watching your travels and eats. Now even my husband suggests turning on You Tube to see what you guys are up to.
This was my favorite lunch spot when I worked in North Hollywood. I would see a number of celebrities there because the NBC, Warner Bros, and Universal Studios' are very close by.
I've never been there since I'm up in NorCal, but it's definitely worth a visit the next time I'm in SoCal. Looks much tastier than Mel's Drive In. It's always nice to read about people's nostalgic memories. Thanks again for another delicious food video.
Where's the Classic ham and cheese salad??? Ive gone there since i was 9 years old im now in my 60's wow do glad you did this video brings back memories still looks the ssme
Howzit Lisa and Bill! Sadly after there was a fire at our Bob's in Mapunapuna, it never reopened. 😢 Zippys does chili spaghetti! Another great video! Take care andAloha, Linda 🤙🌺🤙
Happy Sunday Bill and Lisa! 🙋♀️ Love that interior! One of the last buildings still sporting the classic "Googies architecture". I sometimes visit the Downey location but haven't been to the Burbank location in over 30 years. That Bob's location reminds me of the old Ship's Coffee Shops. Same style of dining room. I don't know if you guys recall Ship's. The founder thought everyone deserved hot toast with their meal. So there was a toaster on every table. Once seated, they immediately brought you iced water and a plate of fresh bread.
Happy Sunday! We haven't heard of Ship's. Toaster at the table sounds cool, but in these times, we can see things going bad with an appliance on the table.
Hey Bill and Lisa you are bringing me back to my childhood. I remember going with my dad and getting the hamburgers there and it was excellent one other note you got to meet my wife and kids in Las Vegas on my 50th birthday and I was not there with them I was somewhere else in the hotel. You guys do a great job thanks so much for the content
Thanks for the review guys. Support those old school restaurants before they disappear.

A 'Real' Big Boy Dinner.
I thought; it was a, fantasy.
I've read; the comics. 15:45
been 40 years since eating at Bob's... seemed like the vibe hasn't changed.
So cool its still around since 1949. I remember in the '80s Bobs Big Boy was everywhere.
I was born in Burbank and we lived there until I was four. However, my grandparents always lived there, and when we visited, it was a must that we eat at that Big Boy restaurant. Thanks for the memories

Yeah I ate there when I was a kid in the 70's always loved it, been a minute since I have seen a Bobs restaurant since I live in Northern Cali, thanks for sharing.
We had one here on Oahu at one time. I liked the food and the atmosphere. Good to see they still have a restaurant. That dessert looked really ono!
I really miss Bob’s Big Boy. So many fond memories
I have great memories of shoney's in MS. I worked there as a hostess/cashier in 1977. Loved those big boys and slim Jim's ❤
The cake isn't the same but it made me think of the cake that I used to get at Shoney's back in the day.
When I worked in Yorba Linda 30 years ago we used to go to the Bob's Big Boy for lunch and get the hamburger fries and a coke and small salad along with a hot fudge cake

Our Bob’s Bigboy used to be in L.A. on Wilshire and Detroit, ate there often til they closed it. Simple but filling and fit out wallet.

You took us back in time. Pappy Parker fried chicken!! another greet video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thomas and I love Bob’s Big boy!! ❤ that’s the exact big boy that we go to whenever we go down south to Burbank or LA area.
Nice! A little out of the way for us, but so glad we visited here.
We have a Frisch's Big Boy where we live. Don't have the Pappy's chicken I don't believe. Love their hot fudge ice cream cake though. Have fun.
Maybe Pappy's was a LA menu item?
@@billandlisa That's what I'm thinking.
Great looking food...I would skip on the chili spaghetti 😋...enjoy and have a great weekend and week til Weds 😘🤗❤
Thanks Jade.

Think Jay Leno still frequents this Bob's.
@@billandlisa Yes he does and he is very approachable to his fans a nice guy!

Howzit! Yes, check it out if you can, one of LA's best nostalgic eateries.
Just got my new Bill & Lisa hoody in classic pink! “It’s Art, Look it Up!” Love it and I can’t wait to wear it in Italy!
Very nice! You'll be lookin' sharp! Thanks so much for supporting our channel.
Everything looks delicious 😍
I've never been there since I'm up in NorCal, but it's definitely worth a visit the next time I'm in SoCal. Looks much tastier than Mel's Drive In. It's always nice to read about people's nostalgic memories. Thanks again for another delicious food video.
You're very welcome. Thanks for watching, Betty.
Where's the Classic ham and cheese salad??? Ive gone there since i was 9 years old im now in my 60's wow do glad you did this video brings back memories still looks the ssme

Howzit! Sorry your Bob's never reopened. Zippy's to the rescue! lol
This looks fun. I didn’t know it was like a diner. Every time I’d hear about it I thought it was like McDonald’s or In and Out. Great video
Fried Chicken with Gravy on top. NEXT LEVEL!!!🍗🍗🍗
Oh yes!
I remember going there as a kid when I went to visit my Grandparents. Definitely going to hit up next time I’m visiting LA
I have not been there for quite some time…the food was good. Brings back great memories. Thanks for the video.
Our pleasure!
When I was younger my parents always took us to Bobs Big boy in Riverside. We always got the same thing. Great memories
In Ohio they were famous for big boy sauce (made with mayo and pickle relish) and fresh strawberry pie nice memories Thank you.
In Ohio they put tartar sauce instead of mayo!!
@@Lawomenshoopsironically enough the only way I can eat tartar sauce
That was our favorite restaurant when we we're young! I didn't know there was still one around! The food looks like I remember it!
A classic eatery for sure. Glad they didn't change their classic menu items.
Wow. I haven't thought of this in a while. Last time I ate at one we shopped at K-mart and ate there for a nice lunch. Long time ago.
Happy Sunday Bill and Lisa! 🙋♀️
Love that interior!
The original "big mac". One of the best burger joints anywhere. 75 years can't be wrong!!!!
Have you seen the Bob's Big Boy restaurant on Firestone, in Downey?
No, we haven't.
@@billandlisa I haven't eaten there myself, but it's probably the same menu. However, it's lovely to look at.
Your food and travel really does all kinds of food and you do travel all over. Thank goodness you drink more just tap water.
Congratulations!!
Thank you so much 😀
Hey Bill and Lisa you are bringing me back to my childhood. I remember going with my dad and getting the hamburgers there and it was excellent one other note you got to meet my wife and kids in Las Vegas on my 50th birthday and I was not there with them I was somewhere else in the hotel. You guys do a great job thanks so much for the content
You're very welcome, Brian! Sorry we missed seeing you in Vegas.. next time!
Bob's is always a great choice. I'm semi addicted to the Chili size. The quality of the food is set at a high standard, and it consistent.
