It’s a cabboose. They stopped using them so collectors and train enthusiasts would buy them and have to move them wherever they took them to. It’s not that odd. Saddest day was when they discontinued having cabooses back in the day. As a kid we used to look forward to seeing them at the end of the train.

Personally as a carpenter I could see myself fitting out a caboose like that to live in. Solid, could be made VERY secure and basically plopped anywhere you could find an appropriate lot/plot/piece of property. Obviously getting that old heavy behemoth to location might require some creativity but dang if it’s not a cool idea !!!
Enjoyed your video. First time watching.
Would be interesting to see a little more of things like the graffiti and items in places as they often tell a story regarding who’s been in there and what they’ve been up to.
Be careful if you run into anything that looks “satanic” or ritualistic. These places are often used by “certain groups of people” to perform rituals and participate in behavior one requires privacy and no prying eyes. You definitely don’t want to encounter anything “evil” lingering around. Homes can ABSOLUTELY be host to malevolent entities if they’re summoned and not “dismissed”.
Stay safe lads and thank you 🙏

That door in the ground you couldn't open is locked by that hole in the center. There's a hex shaped key that goes in it, but you can use a flat head screwdriver also. Probably was a lift station and the part you couldn't open was the well and the other parts were for the pumps.

Square key, not hex. Yes a flat head would work. Thankfully they didn't get into the well. The side they entered was the check valve pit. The round hole in the electric room is where the motor used to sit and a shaft went down to the pump.

5:10 found a Train Caboose. Those are still in use these days, they are basically a living quarters for Train Operators (Bulls) on long trips across country if they have to stop anywhere. Someone clearly retired that one and converted it into a makeshift cabin in the woods (now that is weird but kinda cool).

We used to wave at the guy in the caboose, in MT & around there. Train crossings in the middle of nowhere, that one guy at the end was so cool. Like a little mystery house. I think they had a horn they could toot? Maybe that's my imagination.

The Canadian Pacific caboose at 5:32 is quite popular, lotta people been here, I don't know the story behind it but as a Railfan, I can give you a educated guess that the land owner *probably* bought it from Canadian Pacific when they started phasing out their "Cabeese" and dumped them into storage, very few remain in service. All I know is there's probably a few in St. Paul and Bensenville

The second house you found is awesome. Was for sell at one point as a development opportunity. But dont know what the outcome was.

It would behoove yall to read up about natural features, road/rail beds and topography. It’ll help you in foot travel and ability to recognize surroundings. Judging by the diameter of those pines and saplings, “deep in the woods/middle of nowhere” can happen very shortly with new growth timber. Also, that last building was part of a pumping system. Steep terrain needs extra infrastructure to move water/sewage.

Those aren't tunnels. That's an old lift station. You went into an old poop well. The metal door you first tried opening has a square key that goes into the hole by the handle. A large flat head screwdriver would also work as the key. I suggest not opening it though. Since the side you went in looks like it was the check valve pit, that means the other side with the metal door is probably where the poop all is.

From what I've seen and heard from other videos.
The owner of the property brought the Train Caboose there as a retreat in the woods..
I believe he worked for C.N. Rail.
The Exploring Community here in try and protect locations, but as soon as a place becomes abandoned, the kids know.
Yes, I hate seeing stuff destroyed, but there's a big problem here in Canada with developers leaving Historical or Interesting Homes Open Deliberately, so they will get destroyed, to give them cause to demolish them, instead of making them part of the community.
The Historical and Preservation Board know what's going on, but it's hard to stop them, money talks.
15:30, I don't think anyone has video this utility substation before.
I think your suspicions are correct, regarding what it is, it's probably no older than the houses.
