Hope you guys enjoyed this video! Quick 2 week update for you all, that cake fat is on its way out boyyy!!!!! 4-week update is coming! Make sure you hit the bell to get notified when its up! xxxxxx
I love intermittent fasting because it keeps me away from binge eating, which i usually do lol, so i fast from 4:00 pm to around 6:00 am, that way i can sleep through it.
I'm just going start at 10:30 to 6:30 & work my way to 11-7. My day starts at 6-7am also. But 10:30 is exactly 2 hours into work. Water and herbal teas for the two hours not to bad.
IF changed my life- it upped my energy levels and completely got rid of my bloating. It's insane how much just waiting a little longer in the morning to eat and finishing earlier at night can create such a positive impact (for me, personally)!
I just discovered your channel about 3 days ago, and I'm already obsessed! I just recently started incorporating vegan dishes into my diet so that I can slowly get into it, and your videos help out alot! You're my favorite vegan youtuber lol
Hi! just a few thoughts, - i have been intermittent fasting for nearly a year now and i don't think i could ever go back to how i used to eat which would be eat as soon as i wake up etc, but i should say you should be more flexible with it and maybe have coffee in the morning to curb your appetite and the first few hunger pangs as they will pass with coffee and the coffee obviously gives you that energy you may want/need. also, i do the 16 hour fast too, but if lets say some of my plans like your classes etc interfere then if i was you i would start breaking your fast later on like 1pm and then finishing at 9pm and just be flexible with it! it should never hinder how much you eat or make you rush your food or eat less.
I just wanted to start out saying I really enjoy watching your videos and I even bought your cookbook and I love it. I've been doing intermittent fasting since November of 2019 due to my diabetes and it definitely is worth it. In November by A1C level was at 12.9 and I had a reading of 511 which scared me. So since I've been doing intermittent fasting, eating a plant based vegan diet and exercising 3 to 4 times a week I have lost almost 30lbs. I have a lot more energy and my levels have dropped as well. I don't want to make this long I just want to keep encouraging you to do continue this. I love your channel!
Great Job! Tip: slice up limes, oranges, lemons, and grapefruit for your water. Store in an airtight container. This helps me with my sweet tooth and an increase in water intake. Next tip, your one meal should never take up starchy foods. You should limit one starchy food per meal. You should measure only 1/2 cup. Lastly, eat your fruit early in the day. It helps you become full and lessen your sweet tooth. I love all desserts. It is a struggle for me.
I just found your channel and I love it! I eat a mostly vegan diet and I also intermittent fasting (for weight loss purposes). I've been doing it for a few weeks now and I'm seeing awesome results and it really works!
Hello Rachel Ama, intermittent fasting is a great challenge. I practiced both water fasting and intermittent fasting after a lot of research. Maybe not a lot. About 40 hours on RUclips. Of course, just like being vegan, it depends on your motivation. Most of the intermittent fasting, that I've seen, are doing it for the six pack and another part are doing it for health reasons, like repairing their gut or losing weight. In the past we were told our stomachs were growling because we were hungry. That's not true. Our digestive system could be creating digestive fluids or simply digesting foods still in the stomach. Many times the psychological aspect, again because of indoctrination, kicks in by us having thoughts, or as you mentioned, of a need for food. I would say those thoughts or dreams are the same as wanting to ask someone out on a date and thinking of all of the reasons they will say, "No." F.E.A.R or False Expectations Appearing Real. Another group, all be it smaller, are finding we really do not have to eat everyday. Many of our habits have been programmed into our lifestyles by society upheavals or just like vegans have found, by agricultural indoctrination. To give an example, in the U.S.A. people from The Great Depression era shared with their children, "Eat everything on your plate." Why, because people from that era sometimes went days with out (water fasting) food. Water Fasting Detox Symptoms - ruclips.net/video/YOcqWz1Bkjs/видео.html Intermittent Fasting for Weight Loss w/ Jason Fung, MD - ruclips.net/video/v9Aw0P7GjHE/видео.html Love you channel and how you are a forward thinker.
I literally was just thinking about how this might work as a vegan so thank you so much for being the guinea pig 😂 I definitely need to try this, love you Rachel!
i started 16-8 IF a year and half ago thinking i'd try it for a month and hate it. ended up LOVING it. it has been so beneficial for me in so many ways!!! def be flexible with it--like with you sometimes i fast for 18 hours and sometimes it's only 12 or 14 depending on my schedule. i usually train fasted in the morning (long-distance running and muay thai like you!) and once your body adjusts to it, it's amazing!!!! i feel so much more light and energetic than i used to when i'd try to cram in a breakfast and not have time to properly digest before a workout.
i heard that you can actually adjust the 8 hour time! if you have gym from 6-8 then you can start IF at 1pm and end at 9pm so it's still an 8 hour span!
My vegan interminant fasting detox started at 12 to 16 every other day. Let all my loved ones know beforehand so we could be on same page. That way they didn't make a plate that meal. Water has been keeping me filled up through out my day. After a month went to a longer period of fasting. My workouts every day got better. Much better than expected. Loads of love to you all.
Yesssssssss!!! First U.K. based vegan RUclipsr I've come across. Hooray. I'm new on the vegan bus. One month old. Loving your meal ideas. New subbie. 😘😘
Here with you I eat vegan and vegetarian and I started Intermittent fasting today. It's been ok so far just had what I think is a hunger headache today I eat between 8am and 6pm since I prefer to eat breakfast in the morning. This is only day 1 so I'll see how it goes
I started my vegan diet and intermittent fasting at the same time. Iv been doing it for 3 weeks. The scale has not changed bit people say I look slimmer. I'm going to wait 2 more mouths to see a difference
RheRheSmily ...have you been lifting weights or anything? Muscle is more dense than fat, so a weight scale doesn't always accurately represent your progress.
Intermittent Fasting is something I did without knowing it through Highschool and College while playing Football. Rarely had breakfast and skipped lunch to only eat later after practice. I found I always hit harder when a bit hungry. I do it now whenever I workout. It works for me and it's easier to focus on eating healthily.
I’ve been on/off intermittent fasting and incorporating more vegan meals into my life so this channel/vid is right up my alley! a new subscriber!! good luck with the rest of the month :)
How do you keep your stomach from growling so loud? I’m trying to do this but I have classes in the morning and my stomach growls really loud if I don’t eat
Love this! Just started fasting today. Doing 16/8 schedule with my eating window being 12-8pm, I might switch to 10-6pm though for my eating window. I’ll just play it by ear. I always wanted to do this and thought why not start today. I’m not very hungry in the mornings so I feel this is right for me.
Great channel Rachel! I IF too and have been for over a year. I used to eat 12-8 but I now eat 8-4 most days. I work out in the evenings around 6pm by the time I'm done, tend to my kiddos and other evening tasks it's bed time so that schedule works better for me. Besides I Love breakfast!
I did IF for a while, I did 16:8 too and that worked best for me. I found it really helpful and it stopped bloating for me. The longer I did IF, the more I got used to not eating in the morning and it got easier. I also found it lowered my overall appetite. The only times I found myself extra hungry in the mornings were when I had done weight training or interval training the night before! X
I mix it up with normal eating and intermittent fasting because some days are more busy and I know I won't have the time to make food at the right time or have energy with heavy lifting gym days (powerlifting sessions)
Hi Rachel, thank you for creating this video. My Bf has done intermittent fasting before and he swears by it. But I think I'll try it and see how it goes! Your channel has inspired me and helped me continue with my plant based journey! Be blessed!
Loved this. Everything you mentioned and how you felt in your first week is exactly how I felt when I started. As the weeks go on, it gets easier and you don't really think about it anymore. I'd love to know your findings training in a fasted state as I normally gym in the morning but had to switch to evenings because I would have to continue fasting for 5 hours before I can eat
Oh Rachel I why do I LOVE the intermittent DANCING SO MUCH! LOL!!!! I love your videos. I have been fasting this way also and took off about 20 pounds so far in three weeks. Could have been more but I really cheated with some bad foods, but this really does work. Keep up the AMAZING VIDEOS!
Very interested in how it will work out for you in the long term. I've been doing it a few times and was always fine, but the last time I found myself obsessing over finally getting to eat and then almost having a proper binge... Struggling a lot with my eating habits lately, I feel like all my thoughts revolve around it. Anybody experiencing something similar? Looking forward to more videos on that and I also wanted to say, I absolutely love your energy, watching your videos just makes me feel good. I've only today realised I wasn't subscribed yet as your videos popped up on my feed anyway!
Great vid!!! I've been doing 16:8 IF for a month now. So, I consume food within a 8 hr window. It's a lot easier than I expected, and I love the results. The weight is dropping quickly, and I don't seem to think about food as much.
Your so beautiful darling!! I enjoyed watching this video and loved hearing your opinion on this topic through out the week. Lol! I think I’ve been doing this a couple days with out even realizing it, I eat at odd times and sometimes go long periods without food haha. Hope you had a lovely Sunday girl! Looking forward to your monthly update 😘😘😘
Doing it, and the biggest thing I noticed was no bloat! I feel like my gut just doesn’t have that full feeling that I did prior to fasting. Also I’m a bit of a food addict so it alleviates some of that obsession with food. I feel like it gives me a little bit of a freedom if I don’t have to worry about at least one meal. And I’m down like 4 pounds in a week… Which ain’t too bad!
Great vlog. I do this as well. I also love not having to worry about breakfast. More time in the morning and less rushing to get ready for work. I think hard about what to eat each day because only really two meals a day but it is not a difficult lifestyle change. I don't do enough exercise and want to so your observations were helpful. Than you
Hey Rachel! I really want to try intermittent fasting but I read about how it was supposed to only be two meals a day, one in the morning (10am) and one in the night (8pm). I didn’t know it was possible to eat all you wanted, but just in that time frame! Have you tried the other way, where you only eat two meals?
I've just finished a week of intermittent fasting. I made the fatal mistake of not taking enough food with me to work today. I won't make that mistake again. Needless to say, I did NOT workout after work. Other than today, it has been awesome. It's nice to see other's journeys. Your food always look so hearty. The strangest thing is making sauces in the morning, and realizing...👀 I CAN'T TASTE IT!😂
I would have planned the meals you eat around your schedule, instead of the other way around. Like 1-9 or 2-10 since you have lots of evening activities! It would be much easier that way. Or extend your hours as you are just starting! Thanks for this video! Hugs! ❤️
I actually started a video about this hahaha but I failed! I fasted for about 2 weeks but then went on holiday and it kinda didn't work. But I really want to try again, loved this video and was lovely to see a little more of you girl! M8 your bedroom is so aesthetically pleasing! Just like that glow ;)
I hope this works for you! I can't wait to hear about your results! I don't know everything about your daily schedule, but if you continue having issues with the 10a hangry moment, you may want to change your eating hours from 10a - 6p. It works really well for me! (Note, I don't struggle much with night-time munchies, so it won't work as well for others. I am also up at 4a and start work at 6a, and go to bed at 930p - for context!)
Thank you Heidi! Yeah, I am hoping the morning hunger will go but if not i'll have to try switching the hours around a little, thank you for the tip!! xxxx
I do that two days a week rn and used to do it every day.. I noticed the bloating does go down, my stomach fat seems to decrease, and I do in fact lose weight in fat. The muscle I hang on to because I still feed myself post-workouts. Overall I like the style, I did notice it affected my energy levels for my long workouts, and so that is why I only do it about twice a week now (as a sort of body reset in my mind) So many contradictory opinions and studies :/
I keep trying to do it completely, but with a mother’s worry I still fall back on it. Anyways last year was the first successful continued weight loss to 163 from between 178-180 with this method for about five months and little bit of exercise. But then after I really fell off the wagon and am full force attempting it again to a much lower weight. Currently am at 170. I just want to get out of this back and forth.
Really want to try IF, but we've got a newborn in the house now so being up every hour or so makes it totally insane. Trying to go 12 straight hours absolutely exhausted sounds like quite possibly the worst punishment I could bestow upon myself. At least if you can SLEEP 8 hours, those extra 4 hours sandwiched on both sides of sleep are manageable. But 12 straight hours of getting screamed at, and constant trips to the kitchen for bottles (easily 8-12 times per day), with plenty of idle time standing around thinking about food, waiting for them to warm up? Yeahh I think I'll wait till she starts sleeping somewhat normally lol
Great video again Rachel. Ive being doing the same for quite a few years now. I tend to have 2 large meals with a snack at 4pm. I find morning training works for me. The gym is quiet then too and I get to work on those Vegan gains without a loads of meatheads hogging all the equipment 😜
aigita kalnina Hi, I go to the gym around 7pm before work I train fasted although I do drink water. I’ll have a tea or coffee when I get to work around 10am and then break my fast at 12/12:30. My meal is big and high in protein to keep me satiated. I will have a snack at about 4pm and then have my dinner at 8ish when hubby gets home from work too. I’ve been doing it like this for so many years. At first it was inadvertent because I never ate breakfast when I was in my 20s. I’m 43yrs now.
I've seen a lot of people trying IF on RUclips, but I've never really seen any videos. Today, I was actually wondering about IF and what the benefits are, then I saw this video. Perfect timing! I'm going to do more research then see if it's something I would like to do :)
This is awesome! I’ve just been trying IF last week too, but just eating within a 10hr period for now. I’m gonna try 8 hours this week and see how it goes, excited to see the results! 😊💗 and I love that you included some of your workouts in this vlog!!
Maybe an earlier eat time would work better for your schedule since that seems to be more of a struggle time? I have tried intermittent fasting a few times, unsuccessfully. I found myself MORE obsessed about food and what I was gonna eat and how much. I continue to desire to find success with it, but for now...it's a no-go for me.
I’ve been intermittent fasting. I didn’t get hunger pains but my bf was trying to give me food late last night. I said no but the food and drink looked good.
most important i shall mark about intermittent fasting . i am doing intermittent fasting for 3 years now, and in order to keep hormonal leves just right, women should know to cut out all refined sugars out of diet, its easy substitute refined sugars with maple syrup or honey or agave and etc, options are many. also read labels what you buy so it wouldnt contain it aswell. best is to make everything from scratch ofc :) . for men its easier with intermittent fasting, so do research and if you feel sudden ups and downs just cut out the refined sugar (living refined sugar free for 3y and am happiest person ever) and You shall be fine :)
Im thinking of doing this for a couple of months and i was wondering what the best time is to workout while fasting? I usually eat one banana or apple before going for a run in the morning, i feel like it gives me the energy i need before working out after waking up. I dont work out in the evening. Does someone have some Tipps on this?
As always great video, Rachel. Like I said on IG, I've really enjoyed IF. It's only the holidays that the me of it, and it's really hard for me to start again, but I'll get there. Perhaps your monthly updates will spur me on. Btw, any more videos coming from pineapple and kale? Just wondering...
And make sure that your vegetables are cooked! Also, the body may naturally bloat since it is not used to the amount of fiber intake at once and I should go away naturally as your stomach gets used to it
Outside of liking my mine I did well on the fast had more energy and by day four I found I was able to go longer without eating o some days it was like 2/3 o’clock this fast is the best in my opinion 😅
Rachel. Great video and interesting experiment. I have a degree in Sport Science and a Masters in Nutrition. I'm only telling you that so you understand why I'm suggesting the following: Do a body composition analysis ASAP. (Use the Navy method - it is really easy) Do one now and one at the end of the month and check your muscle mass. It is ok to do cardio in a fasted state, but I would not do strength training, particularly heavy lifting, in a fasted state unless you were replenishing lost calories (all macros) within 1 hr of training and preferably immediately. As your body fat is not high, your body may decide to use protein for fuel which can result in muscle loss. I look forward to seeing what happens over the next few weeks.
I love intermittent fasting. Started doing it for health reasons, i have diabetes, and my eating window was 12-4. It makes your life so much easier when you aren't worried about food or blood sugar spiking. I only "stopped" bc I went on vacation and for some reason I told myself it was too restricting. Low and behold, I found myself only wanting to eat during my eating window of 12-4. I am going to start back up February 1st and add in a gallon of water to see how far this gets me. BTW, I did fasting for 2 months before I stopped and I lost 12 lbs.
Yeah its wonderful I vegan 2 but a small eater so I eat a small bowl of food then wait 30minutes to a hour than eat a few other things again wait a half hour to hour than if I hunger eat a small snack 4 me I can't eat a lot of different foods at once but I keep them eating window no more than 5 hrs sometime less
I lovvve your channel Rachel! I was vegan for 9 months and absolutely loved it. I switched back to meat unfortunately bc it was a bit expensive but I will definitely be reverting back soon. I absolutely loved the way I felt. My mind and body was actually healthier...some don’t believe it when I say that but if they tried it they’d notice significant differences. Love ya, keep these great vids coming love! My bf is doing this exact fast but I’m not with it lol I’m supportive but I don’t want to lose my slim thickness lol so I’m good! You look wonderful tho 💕
Seaux Southern all you need to do is organize it ahead. And it won’t be as expensive. That’s what I did. Plus the disease related to meat/milk are not something I want to be spending money on the future
ooo thats so interesting i was thinking about getting the g7x mark 2 or the cannon 700d, but this video looks amazing and the g7x is more portable :) xx
*When u realise you have been intermittent fasting for years. I don't eat breakfast and I don't eat after 8...🙈🙈 Yet I'm still chubby 😭 maybe I haven't been drinking enough water.*
If you dont eat enough calories in that period of time, your body will think you are starving it and will store any and everything you eat as fat in fear of you not giving it enough calories. You dont need to diet during intermittent fasting. You can actually eat more calories in that 8hr period...so make sure you are eating enough calories to heal your metabolism.
I’ve been doing it for a year now and I eat 3 meals a day. I keep doing it cause it makes me overeat less, cause there’s only 3 times a day at which I can possibly overeat now instead of 5-6 😅 but besides that I unfortunately didn’t notice any benefits
Hope you guys enjoyed this video! Quick 2 week update for you all, that cake fat is on its way out boyyy!!!!! 4-week update is coming! Make sure you hit the bell to get notified when its up! xxxxxx

How do you keep your stomach from growling so loud? I’m trying to do this but I have classes in the morning and my stomach growls really loud if I don’t eat
Fill your stomach up with water
That'll all pass. The ppl n your stomach will be just fine
Hold your breath used to happen to me in highschool lol
Stop training your stomach to expect food at that time. The growling will stop in about 3 days.
Love this! Just started fasting today. Doing 16/8 schedule with my eating window being 12-8pm, I might switch to 10-6pm though for my eating window. I’ll just play it by ear.
Today is day 2 of intermittent fasting for me and it's going well. Thank you for sharing!
Great vid!!! I've been doing 16:8 IF for a month now. So, I consume food within a 8 hr window. It's a lot easier than I expected, and I love the results. The weight is dropping quickly, and I don't seem to think about food as much.
I just started this. I eat between 12pm-8pm I’ve been at it for about 2 weeks. I’m excited to see results within my overall body and health
Amazing! Me too!! Let me know how it goes for you on my update video! x
How’d you go??
Love your energy!! I’m interested in IF, but being Vegan, I wasn’t sure on meals. Can you show more of what u eat while doing this?! Thanks!!
I actually have been doing this accidentally for a week, because I was sick and didn't have an apetite.
WHY AM I ONLY FINDING YOU NOW???
EPIC! Thank you for sharing. I love your energy. You are doing something on the daily! Inspired
Than you
I am fasting 16/8 and work out every afternoon I have heard that you need to have your 8 hour window when you do work out hope this helps
I really want to try this but I am a bit scared I would not get all the nutrients needed as a vegan. Its good to see that worked for you actually.
Great video! For some reason....the link for your vegan recipes aren't available.
Hey Rachel! I really want to try intermittent fasting but I read about how it was supposed to only be two meals a day, one in the morning (10am) and one in the night (8pm). I didn’t know it was possible to eat all you wanted, but just in that time frame! Have you tried the other way, where you only eat two meals?
Rachel, loved this. Can't wait to see what happens after a month.
I love this and your enthusiasm is amazing!
Hey girl! You’ve got a new subbie. I love your videos and you’re so sweet!
Thank you I’ve been looking for something like this all week, perfect timing!
Am I tripping or did you get a better camera
Yass! so good to hear another vegan getting gains while intermittent fasting! Thank you for sharing! xxx
Angelina Ahai so what time do you train in the morning?! And what do eat/drink before gym?!?! Xx
aigita kalnina Hi, I go to the gym around 7pm before work I train fasted although I do drink water.
I want to try the intermittent fasting. Hope you keep us updated 😊
This is awesome! I’ve just been trying IF last week too, but just eating within a 10hr period for now. I’m gonna try 8 hours this week and see how it goes, excited to see the results! 😊💗 and I love that you included some of your workouts in this vlog!!
Thank you!! And good luck with yours too, hopefully we both get some great positives out of it! xxx
That is a great time! Sleep the majority and let your body heal.
I think I’m going to try this! Is that cocoa power you put on the oatmeal for Monday??
If you wanted to eat two hours before your evening session then why not move the eating window from 10am-6pm?
After my fourth day,I can't poo.i have so much water but still.Anyway,I feel lighter and bloat gone away.
Im thinking of doing this for a couple of months and i was wondering what the best time is to workout while fasting? I usually eat one banana or apple before going for a run in the morning, i feel like it gives me the energy i need before working out after waking up. I dont work out in the evening. Does someone have some Tipps on this?
This is off topic, but what lipstick are you wearing?
As always great video, Rachel. Like I said on IG, I've really enjoyed IF. It's only the holidays that the me of it, and it's really hard for me to start again, but I'll get there. Perhaps your monthly updates will spur me on. Btw, any more videos coming from pineapple and kale? Just wondering...
I'm new! You have incredible vibe! I'm on vegan if and never felt better and fueled up
Rachel ive been doing this for a week and ive only been eating fruit & a little bit of vegetables & i cant stop the bloating!
Btw great video! Ur food looked amaziiing
Krystal Beauty hey, look into vegan mono meals and research vegan food combinations. You may be bloating from mixing acidic with sweet fruit.
Hi, I wanna try this, but can ou give me some breakfast and dinner ideas?
Your place looks so beautiful! Would love to see a tour-type video 🙌🏾
I do 21/3 IF.. I break it was some fulvic acid in water and a delicious a$$ smoothie 🙌🏾
Plus the disease related to meat/milk are not something I want to be spending money on the future
this video is RIGHT ON TIME! literally been considering this but was looking for some vegan inspo x
Subscribed !!! Maybe show pictures for ur month change??💜
deffo going to try this. love you girl !
love this! this video has made me want to try it , so thanks Rachel!
Cool... just a thought... exercise right before your first or last meal... or both... great vid...
Try drinking sparkling water it helps to give you that full feeling. Watch videos by keno body he Works out in a fasted state.
Good for you! Do you weigh yourself every day?
I'm vegan and love intermittent fasting!!
Will you do any fashion videos? I love your style so much
super interesting!!!! probs not for me but defo keep us updated please!!! also what lens do you use with your canon 700d
This episode was the canon g7x mark 2, but normally 50mm on the cannon x
ooo thats so interesting i was thinking about getting the g7x mark 2 or the cannon 700d, but this video looks amazing and the g7x is more portable :) xx
❤️. I absolutely love your view. The plants, ceiling is so lovely. ✨🤗
*When u realise you have been intermittent fasting for years. I don't eat breakfast and I don't eat after 8...🙈🙈 Yet I'm still chubby 😭 maybe I haven't been drinking enough water.*
Cynthia's Corner ...I've heard that when a person breaks the fast, the person needs to eat certain types of food in order to benefit from fasting.
jb hann I'll be intentional next time lol. Thanks 🙌🏾
Camille×Bimbo: The starvation thing is a myth
VeganWitch it actually isnt
u are soo positive. lovely to watch. 😄
I’ve been doing it for a year now and I eat 3 meals a day. I keep doing it cause it makes me overeat less, cause there’s only 3 times a day at which I can possibly overeat now instead of 5-6 😅 but besides that I unfortunately didn’t notice any benefits
What time do you get up and go to bed?
Thanks
Love your accent. Going to do this.
