Legendary. Chuck Berry didn't have a regular band. Wherever he would go to perform, whether in the states or abroad, he would employ local musicians to play with him because, as he put it, "all the guys know my music." When you booked Chuck Berry, you got Chuck Berry. Often arriving at the last possible minute with his guitar plus the one pick he carried with him and his amplifier which was always miked. So, for example, when he performed on live television in Belgium in 1965, it was Chuck Berry on lead guitar and vocals and all Belgian musicians on piano, double (upright) bass and rhythm guitar. And I'm not sure, maybe he brought his own drummer that trip. Really remarkable! I seem to remember one performance on Carson where Chuck came out on stage and said the song was in B♭ and Doc spoke up and said that the band had practiced it in B and Chuck said no, it's in B♭, and the band, being the consummate musicians that they were, transposed the song on the spot.
Gracias a canciones como "Maybellene" (1955), "Roll Over Beethoven" (1956), "Rock and Roll Music" (1957) y "Johnny B. Goode" (1958), Berry redefinió los elementos del rhythm and blues.[4]

Year?
I was a Johhny Carson junkie, rarely missed a show. Looking at Carson early 80's.
looks like this appearance was from January 11, 1989.
Cocaines a hell of a drug
Now you know why so many Rock and Roll bands copied his music, ie., Rolling Stones.
