I remember watching this LIVE in my parents’ living room. And immediately running out and buying the cassette tape at Harmony House, a popular Detroit record store. My mom and I, both musicians, sat in awed silence as this played. We’d never heard anything like it.
I enjoyed the privilege of attending one of Mr. Jordan's master classes. He is an amazing, generous soul, on top of being an incredible musician. His arrangement of Mozart's Piano Concerto Number 21 brings me to tears every time I hear it. I still remember being transfixed the first time I heard him play it. I feel so lucky to have been able to hear that live. He once played a concert and then gave to the audience free copies of a CD that he had made for himself to listen to while he was at the dentist (apparently, going to the dentist is not one of his favorite things).
