BMW E39 and front suspension clunking. A match made in heaven.
I highly recommend the Monroe Spectrum front struts with the 6 cylinder e39 Sport suspension. Bought mine because I couldn't quite afford my usual Bilstein Sports at the time. I have been amazed at how good they are. Great control and more compliant than the Bilsteins and well suited to my 528iT (Touring). 3.5 years later, they are STILL going strong, and damping well. They are built in Spain, in the same facility that builds Mercedes shocks/dampers, and the quality really shows. Not bad at just over $60 per unit!!! Hope this helps someone.
my E39 M5 makes clicking noises from the front right wheel, gets worse the faster i go any ideas what it can be?
Thanks Nathan! I'm experiencing the same thing right now on my E39 530iA Sport. I replaced the front struts about two-and-a-half years ago and the sway bar end links too, but started getting a clunking recently. I forgot all about those thrush bushings!

Man, thank you for this video! I am getting ready to replace the shocks/struts and some other front end parts on my 1998 540i, this was very helpful. I have had a front end noise in the car since I got it last fall, hopefully this will fix it.

Nathan, those aluminum struts are Sachs, I believe, as opposed to Bilstein. I had one fail on me quite dramatically on my 540/6, when the spring perch separated from the tube. It jammed on the tire. I changed them immediately thereafter for Bilstein Sports, which are steel and solid as a rock! Please be aware of this potential hazard. I'll never use those aluminum struts again!!
Great content as always Nathan. Would like to see how you remove the secondary air pump in the bumper there as I'm planning to do a SAP system delete on my 530 as well.

It took over a month to get my Febi sway bar links for the e38 from ECS Tuning. Just saying. They arrived last weekend, and I ordered them back in early April
I'd use FCP Euro for your parts, dude. Prices are reasonable, and they have the best warranty in the business. Never had an issue with them. It won't take a month to get your order either.
I have an 02 540iA sport.. an d I will have to do the sport struts.. last pricing was 340 per front... uggh.. . Love the tranny, m62.tu will need guides and a main chain soon, would rather put the bucks into that..
Perhaps the front wheel woulnd't touch the wheelarch without the spacer. Anyway I jsut repleaced the same arms that caused me noise and I let it run so far that it damaged my disc, as I braked at high speed, the vibration distorted the hot brake disc.
Hi Nate just wanted to know can I fit sport suspension to my e39 530d . Are all the shocks the same 528 etc

Replaced my valve cover gasket and now the catalytic converter gets cherry red how, do you know if it’s out of time or the cause?

Hey Nathan quick question 1997 BMW 540IA the rear of the car is sagging lower then the front what could it be?
Does your car have the auto leveling suspension? It could be an issue with the airbags or the pump.
Hi Nathan sorry to bother you.. please help me out with this problem.. 2007 BMW 328xi front driver side wheel bearing replacement. After replacing, the steering wheel is swinging side to side while driving. With the wheel bolts tight I put a socket and ratchet right on the very top wheel bolt and I give it a rapid pull as if I'm tightening it quick pull and stop, the tire and whole fender side of the car lightly swings in and out. What do you think about this? I grab the tire top/bottom side to side and can't notice bearing movement could it be that my axle nut is a little bit loose or too tight. Please let me know what you think of this.. thank you very much in advance... Have a wonderful time...

@@ciscocane2716 I have not done it yet but I'm pretty sure the lower control arms are my problem... I loosened one of them and sure enough it has a lot of play in it... Good luck on your project..
