    Hey Nathan, Yesterday I was replacing my fuel purge valve on my m54 when a friend who was helping pulled the vacuum line that attaches to the rear of the valve off of the other end. Yikes. I then knew I was in trouble. PS. Don't buy the DELCO purge valve because we couldn't get it attached to the bottom clip. So, Please tell me where I am going to find the other end of the vacuum hose. Thank you for being such a great resource for us idiots who get in trouble trying to be Nathan! God Bless ya!

    I had a brand new Behr radiator/trans cooler tank break open allowing coolant into the transmission and it ruined the clutch packs on a Volvo S60 2.4T; $3500-$4000 fix or ~$1500 for a good used transmission. Fortunately Behr covered the repair.

    Hey Nathan, another great video! I have a similar issue with my 06 325ci it seams to be coming from the right side of the waterpump if youre facing the engine (Drivers Left side). Can you please give my video a look, its a quick 30 second video. Anything would be appreciated , thanks !!

    Great video as always. You mentioned a shudder in high gear, have you any idea for the cause of a shudder in first gear on an E46? It only ever happens when I'm pulling into my gates which is a sharp turn and on an incline. I've replaced the water pump, tensioner pulley and belt. No idler pulley as its an m43. :/ She runs great otherwise.

      Euro E46 could be the trans mount, guibo, center carrier, or possibly subframe problems

      @TheCowgirlNiamh 8 лет назад

      Ouch! Lol. Subframe is fine. Will check out the others. Thanks for the suggestions :)

    Hey Nathan , I'm looking at buying a used 2001 325i for $2500 , I've already gone through the steps you showed in your videos to determine any problems it may have, everything' checked out fine. I have good mechanic skills and I feel confident to do most if not all the work myself. Is it a smart purchase?

    • @NathansBMWWorkshop
      @NathansBMWWorkshop  8 лет назад +1

      Yes if you have mild mechanic skills they are easy to keep running, only people that never held a screwdriver have problems lol

    My 2001 530i m sport makes a rattling noise when in park, and while reversing, but goes away as soon as you drive. It drives very well, no problems so far. Any ideas?

    Hey Nathan at the start you said something about fixing the transmission shudder under hard acceleration. I've looked hard, but I can't find that. Can you post a link? (Could that be a VANOS problem?)

    • @NathansBMWWorkshop
      @NathansBMWWorkshop  7 лет назад +1

      Hello It is usually the drive shaft carrier bearing

    The fan clutch of my E39 M62 is making loud roar noise upon acceleration. It is like a jet engine taking off. The noise goes away at idle though. I'm not sure whether the fan clutch is locking up as the sound increases proportion to engine RPM.
    The fan clutch appears in good shape, there is sufficient resistance when it spun by hand. The temp gauge has always been fine.
    Any ideas?

    my 540i e39 keeps having this belt squeal under load....changed tensioner..idlers..and.belt...and it's driving me insane

    • @NathansBMWWorkshop
      @NathansBMWWorkshop  8 лет назад

      Sometime i have problems with cheap belts from autozone or oreilleys doing that crap, but most of the tie its a bad tensioner pulley, do all of the new pulleys spin free?

    • @rype36
      @rype36 8 лет назад

      +Nathan's DIY Garage yea everything spins free....no play in bearings...but for some reason the belt just doesn't feel tight...with tensioner maxed

    • @NathansBMWWorkshop
      @NathansBMWWorkshop  8 лет назад +1

      there are 2 different belts, the later cars have and extra pulley that takes a slightly longer belt
