There are a few different style faucets, if yours looks like this one, chances are you'll be able to fix it using this video. You'll need a wrench and possibly a tool to remove your faucet handle. Good luck and remember to turn off your water if you take off the valve. - Хобби
I have done this like 10 times since buying my house and Everytime I forget what to do. please never delete this video
Andrew,
Your video was made 8yrs ago and still come in handy today. Was able to fix my mother's leak. Thank you!
short, concise, clear, and to the point. Excellent. Thank you!
Thanks! Perfect video. Mom's faucet drip is GONE in under 5 minutes. She's thrilled and so am I. One of the best DIY repair videos I have viewed!
Thank you SO much! I felt that I had the basics down of what to expect when I took the bathroom faucet apart, but mine didn't look ANYTHING like the faucet in another video. You did a great job explaining what to look for, and what to pull off and what to unscrew and so on. Took the pieces to the hardware store and got just what I needed. I DID find out the hard way that there is a left-hand faucet handle and a right-hand faucet handle, so it's REALLY important to keep track of what came from where.
Simple and concise. All I needed to know to repair my faucet. Great repair video.
Well done video. Changed both valves out within 15 minutes, even with a placement error. Straight to the point. Thank you!!
It was just the when you said to line up the post,it was off line. So helpful. Save me time and money. Thank you !
Just did this repair this morning. Two cartridges, 2 rubber seats and springs and a tube of silicone grease (optional). Total was around $40 at Home Depot. Mine was leaking under both handles. I may have been able to just tighten the large nuts but I decided to do a complete repair. Good for another 10 years (fingers crossed).
Practical, short and informative. Thank you.
Thank you. This was very helpful and it WORKED! I replaced the seat and spring in the base for about $3.50.
Same as below. Thank you. This was very helpful and it WORKED! I replaced the seat and spring in the base on 2 of my 3 leaky sinks about $2.00 per sink. Going to pick up the parts for the last sink. Thanks Again
Straight and to the point. Helped me fix my leaky faucet!!!
Very helpful video! Here are a few tips/tricks that can help first-timers. ---- (1) When buying supplies for this project, it can be very helpful to take a photo of your faucet with you to the hardware store. ---- (2) The valve can be quite tight to remove! To help loosen it, you can gently push up under the edges of the valve with a SMALL FLAT-HEAD SCREWDRIVER (think computer kit sizing). Don't force the driver in (it'll bend or tear the plastic). Move it around the valve base to loosen all sides. At the same time, you can use your other hand to pull up on the valve. With some patience, it should come loose. ---- (3) The "o-ring" you mentioned as "secured to the base" is called a "seat" - and this is often the source of drips. It's sold as a set with a spring that sits underneath it. If you're shopping for them at a hardware store, you'll ask for SEATS AND SPRINGS. If that's the source of the drip, you want to replace both the seat and spring at the same time. You'll need NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS to pull both parts out of the recess they sit in. To replace them, place the spring - small end up!!! - down in the well, then use your pliers again to hold the seat so you can place onto the spring. To push the seat into place, you can use a couple of q-tips or the eraser end of a pencil. Don't use your pliers to put force it - you may damage the rubber seat.
I put the parts in a plastic bag and took them to the hardware store. I pulled them out and without even examining them the helpful clerk recognized it as Delta hardware.
The valve was a bit hard to get off. I ended up just using pliers on the stem at the top and that did the trick.
I stuck an Allen wrench into the seats and springs instead of needle-nose pliers - an auto mechanic stole my needle-nose pliers out of my car and I don't have one anymore. Needle-nose would probably work better, but even a narrow screwdriver would probably work.
Good tip on which way to orient the spring - Delta should have included a diagram with their replacement parts. I had to do an image search on the internet to figure that out.
..........important "To replace them, place the spring - small end up!!!
This video along with this comment helped me to fix my bathroom faucet today. My issue ended up being the seat and spring. Once I replaced those the drip stopped.
Thank you for the refresher.Very clear, very helpful.
Better than the video on Delta's site, which was longer and only had a single faucet instead of two like yours and mine.
I made a couple of dumb mistakes due to being a novice at this.
1: After I replaced the seat and spring and put the valve back in I decided to see if the dripping had been solved by what I did before putting the handle back on. I turned the water back on and watched for a few seconds, observing no drips.
Hooray, I thought! That did it, and just then hilarity ensued.
A geyser erupted shooting the valve, spring and everything flying. The water reached the lights above the mirror and I tried to turn them off as I also tried to turn off the water again at the same time....not possible and I was afraid I would blow a fuse with all that water on the light fixture so I hit the lights, turned off the water and tried to salvage some mail that had been laying on the counter.
Yeah, notice how I didn't say I put the bolt back on before trying that? It dawned on me that it wasn't just for the handle, it held the valve in place too.
I'm laughing about it now, but the rugs in that bathroom are still drying. If the lights had been on long enough to be hot I can imagine the bulbs bursting, but at least that didn't happen.
2: I had a second sink with the same problem and I already had the hot water turned off and the handle and bolt off. I decided to take a break and brush my teeth before finishing that job.
I felt sure it would be okay to run the cold water while the hot water was turned off even though the bolt was off. WRONG!
Even though the hot water was turned off , the cold water came out of the tap and the valve for the hot water - not so much a geyser as a spray and I just had to turn the cold faucet off, but more hilarity.
Some may call those naive, novice, noob or stupid mistakes, but I consider it a learning experience.
Also, if it's a Delta faucet and you need an Allen wrench, don't even bother trying your metric set - at least if you're in the US. I sometimes wonder why I have both English and metric tools - this is why!
Thanks so much for this. I didn't even know where to start and you made it very easy. I had to replace the guts and the little spring and gasket. $15 and 10 minutes of my time. Thanks again.
This video helped me repair my faucet leak. Thank you for this video.
Simple ... Precise .... short and informative. Well done, thanks for the info :)
THANK YOU! I actually popped the o-ring (I guess that's what it was) out by mistake. put it back in reassembled and "magically " no leak! thank you for this short to the point video. you saved me a lot of money b/c I was on my way to buy a new faucet.
Great. Simple. Well explained. I forgot about the O ring below the mechanism. Thank You!
short, sweet, to the point and right. Thank you.
Thanks...i didint know how to remove handle but got it done thanks to you. Leaky faucet fixed with just a lil tightening. 👍
Don't have a delta, but you solved my problem in 40 seconds. Thanks!
Thanks for the clear, concise instructions. I was afraid to remove cartridge until I saw the method on your video. Was going to call plumber but instead, took it apart, cleaned it and re-assembled as you described. DRIP GONE!! Many thanks.
Great video -- clear & easy to follow! Thank you!
Helpful video. Thanks for posting. My plumbing skills are pretty limited so your assistance is appreciated. I'll have to look at your channel and see what other kinds of good advice you might have for me.
Excellent presentation Did exactly as shown. All fixed and works perfectly. God bless and thanks
Very helpful. Easy to follow. Thanks so much for this!
Thank you, Thank you! After an hour of frustration, you saved us!!!
By 1:48 I had my leaky faucet fixed. Thanks for this excellent, to-the-point video
With this video and $3.15, I fixed the dripping problem! Thank you!
Thanks! Fixed my leak because of your video.
Thank you. This was very helpful to get me started, but please add more detail about the seat and spring in the base for those of us who know NOTHING. With the advice of the Menard's guy, the repair cost me a dollar (for seat and spring) instead of $13 (cost of the stem). The problem was with that rubber seat you see at the bottom of the water.
Excellent! Quick change out- According to the Lowe's guy - if it is a Delta Faucet - there is a lifetime warranty on the original. You have to call them first. It doesn't help if it is already leaking and you need to replace it before they can ship one.
Worked like a charm. Thanks very much for the assistance!!
My exact faucet. Very helpful. Thanks
Thanks Andrew, I used a 3/32 allen wrench and then tighted the large nut.
thanks for a short and informative video, what about the seat and spring?
Thanks for being concise.
Great VIdeo. Quick and too the point without the minutes of useless babbling that most youtube videos have at the beginning. Thank you.
Like your instructions. To the point and how to do it.
Nice job on instructional video! Worked great!

Very helpful! Thank you !!!
Excellent How To Video.... Pretty sure even my Cat can fix it now. 5-Stars Thank You !!
Very helpful
Thanks! Very helpful. Ken
Thank You My Friend...
this video is very helpful!
A couple of more helpful hints: Delta faucets like this typically take a 3/32" hex wrench to remove the handle set screws. Also, if you're replacing the rubber or ceramic seat and spring make sure the narrow end of the spring is inserted into the rubber or ceramic seat. Then reseat them with the spring down.
Make your own video, loser.
Thanks! I was wondering what size wrench to use
I'm not able to unscrew using 3/32" Any suggestion on how to remove screw?
Thanks, awesome video.
Nice video do you have one on a 3 pc delta shower faucet leak. I have a gasket at the end of the stem that needs replacing. got it done now cold water leaks and don't know where to get parts cause these were old new parts before store closed
You're a life saver!
As the Cars would say, this is just what I needed
Makes it look easy & it works !
Thanks this was a big help!
Do you use a flat head screw driver to take the handle off or a Phillips thanks for your help!
Great video !
Good Video thank you. Did you guy's know that Delta faucet parts are guaranteed and sent to your home free by Delta? I was surprised and Delta provides good technical support over the phone. They did for me anyways, good luck.
I did not know that - thanks. I procrastinated for so long in fixing 2 faucets that it would have been worth the wait for shipping. Instead I spent a little less than $5 on parts.
Thanks maybe i give them a call
Stan
Super easy and fast!
I did exactly what is explained in this video except, i messed up on the lever orientation. Then no matter how i rotate the cartridge after that, the water kept running and i couldn't turn it off. I wonder if it's the ceramic seats and spring underneath.
thank you. you saved me the cost of calling a plumber!
Thank you, thank you and thank you!
Thanks u saved the day
We did all of this. It’s still 💧 dripping. Do have any suggestions. I would appreciate it. Great video.
Thanks a lot
thank you.
I just want to know how the spring goes with the rubber cap, i cant seem to get it inside the socket and water now is full on all the time.
How about help identifying your cartridge # so that you don't go home trying to install something that just won't fit, even with a large hammer.
This was helpful but a little more information about the o ring would have been nice.
Thanks!
Good job
i need to know where to purchase that screwdriver (and what type is it). None of mine are small enough to remove the handle.
great video! thanks
What if it still leaks after changing this part
what kind of screwdriver do you need?
what size allen wrench are u using? thanks
i have a delta faucet, and water is leaking from both hot n cold handles (at the bottom) and it drips from the faucet as well. what needs to be replaced when this happen?
Have delta my cold water side drips how do you remove top plastic
Thanks
Hi there, Thanks for the video! But I still have a question that needs your advice. I just replaced a new seats & springs for my Delta faucet. But why it is still dripping? Where did I do wrong? Thank you!!!!
Same here
Very useful Thanks
check the cup and spring recessed in fixture below the part this guy is holding for a drip from faucet!. remove with needle nose. replace with wider end of spring facing down . o ring if drip from turn handle base.
