- My compressor went out and it was only a year old. Here I go getting to do it all again. Maybe this time it will last.

good to know about the flat bolt head on the A/C compressor , thanks .
Yeah, the first time I did it I didn't know that. It helped a lot when I got it figured out. Thanks for the comments!
my 91 GMC 1500 has the original AC compressor in it , and it only makes that noise for 2 seconds so I added an ounce of pag , its good now .
That's awesome! You are very fortunate. Thanks for watching!

I’m convinced that these big box parts stores “lifetime warranty” means a lifetime of headaches. Awful quality! It’s great to get replacement but who wants to deal with recurring issues. I’ve started getting refunds instead of replacement parts and swapping the failed parts with OEM whenever possible.
Yep! I agree.
What did you flush the evap coil and lines with.
Actually I used BraKleen in the green can. It is readily available at Walmart and works great. I linked to the Correct stuff in the description. I read a lot of forums that said they used BraKleen and I had some. I did purchase the pressurized kit. I just emptied the Can of BraKleen into the pressurized kit reservoir.
Do you have a high pressure switch? Did you have to change the low pressure switch when you converted from R12?
I used the factory switches that were already in the system. I didn't check them or change them. Thanks for watching!
Was that a brand new compressor or a rebuilt one?
Not sure what brand. It was new, or I think it was. Whatever O'Reilly's sells. Thanks for watching.
