- I am so smitten with cottage cheese and the multitude of curds it contains that one recipe wasn’t enough. Two was too neat. Three-three stretched my imagination and led to a trio of recipes that make it possible to eat a different cottage cheese recipe morning, noon, and night. I know, it’s almost too much.

I have never seen a 5 ounce container of cottage cheese. How cute.
@CarlaLalliMusic123
Would you ever do a soy sauce and/or (bottled) Asian sauce guide with recommendations?
Good Culture is the best!
The great debate in Iowa: A and E (Anderson & Erickson) or Daisy cottage cheese?
Just mixed my good culture cottage cheese into my egg salad. Sooo good 🩷
"Cook for yourself like it feels like somebody else cooked for you" I love that, Carla, you're the best teacher of everything.
LOVE cottage cheese with chopped tomato, cukes, shredded onion and dehydrated onion flake, minced celery and pepper. Mix and let sit to meld for 30 minutes or so. It's an excellent hot summer night meal.
A nice 1% whipped style with a little honey and black pepper swirled in is a beautiful thing.
Anyone else unable to take their eyes off the Mondo-cool Gene Wilder / Gilda Radner t-shirt or the bandaged pinkie finger?
Pro tip for those who blend cottage cheese: immersion blender. Less waste, no fighting to scrape it out of a larger blender surface, and I swear it's somehow the creamiest this way
Queen please collab with Claire Saffitz on her Dessert Person channel. We need a crossover episode 👀❤️
I love that!! I don't remember ever see a BA video with them together either... Outside of the whole crew episodes like Thanksgiving.
I think I'm obsessed at this point. Your videos are so wonderful! The way you cook and talk about food for some reason makes me feel validated in so many of my own cooking choices and discoveries. You have inspired me to explore the way I feed myself and my family in so many ways. Your advice suggesting that we cook for ourselves the way we want to be cooked for by others is straight up therapy after a hard work week.
I'm ashamed to say that I put off watching this video because I'm not a huge fan of curd. I love almost all other dairy but never eat cottage cheese. This video has convinced me I would enjoy cottage cheese if I belend it! I'll definitely be trying it out, thanks Carla!
Cottage cheese with Harvard beets or pickled beets (hot or cold beets) with dill has been one of my favorite foods since middle school, more than 30 years now. Glad to see cottage cheese finally coming into its own.💜
I love that combination too!
Before my daughter, often the only food in my house was that combo and rice cakes with aged swiss and Clausen sandwich stacker pickles..lol
@@katiemoore-rg5vi Lol. Cottage cheese, beets, and kidney beans with french dressing were three of my favorite picks at salad bars
You are my people.
what are "harvard beets"?
Cottage cheese is really having a moment
Cottage cheese is SO under rated and an absolute fun ingredient to many dishes.
Carla watching this video brought back a sweet memory of me in college pouring over a video of you teaching me how to poach an egg years ago. Thanks for (still) teaching us so much!
Just made the Turkish style eggs with cilantro absolutely superb!!!
You had me at how casually you said ‘I had to get over myself with the onion’. So true! Palates change. I have a hard time with fussy or picky eaters but trying to respect. I’m in agreement with mayo and mustard. Keep up the great work! Happy subscriber here! 👏🏻💕
I have to be careful watching Carla's videos with my morning coffee because I almost did a spit-take with laughter (more than once because apparently I don't learn). Fantastic recipes delivered with joy. Love it!
My protein deficient pregnant ass is going to buy cottage cheese right effing now. I need all of these dishes immediately.
Try cottage cheese with crushed pineapple (equal parts of each). It is Dee-licious!!!
@@HRHDMKYTI remember when they sold that mixture in stores!
So here for cottage cheese's long overdue redemption arc!
I don’t even eat dairy…but it’s Carla. So here we are. 😆
I inherited a baby cast iron like that from my grandmother. The seasoning is glass-smooth, perfect for a couple of eggs.
That shirt is iconic!
I FRIGGIN LOVE COTTAGE CHEESE
So do I
The speed at which my husband immediately went to our kitchen and made spicy pickled red onions "I need to try that like right now"
Love that you’re keeping it real at home, cottage cheese is the best ❤
That sandwich looks ding dang incredible. Thanks for reminding me how much I love cottage cheese!
They all sound amazing!
Wau, this looks amazing! Tnx for the ideas!
Looking forward to making these 😊
Thank you for inspiring my sat morning breakfast with everything on hand! You’re the best
Your spinit technique helped me to innovate in my kitchen. I didn't have poblanos to char for a green enchilada sauce so I broiled a yellow bell pepper with two thai green chilis instead. Perfect fruity-with-a-kick flavor that poblanos would have given. People couldn't tell the difference. This is unrelated to cottage cheese but I just did it a few days ago and I wanted to let you know. I'll try cottage cheesin this summer! I'm living with a vegetarian and thinking about vegetarian protein options.
Long Live Cottage Cheese! Thank you, Carla
I really like your red and lilac tea towel queen
The cottage cheese eggs… made them this morning! Very yummy
"Cook for yourself so it feels like somebody else cooked for you" Yes.
omg this is so perfect i just bought cottage cheese for the first time in a long time this past weekend! thank you carla!!!
Cottage Cheese Renaissance 'bout to happen thanks to Carla.
I like this ideas of light lunch
Cottage cheese + ranchy things as a dip for cucumbers or veggies.
Love Carla!
I'm definitely going to use the layering tip when making veggie sandwiches in the future.
Agh! I have a pair of those tiny cast iron pans!! Finally I have the same tools Carla has. Yay!! I’m still hating on dill though, so will be substituting arugula or green onions/chives. You are *really* inspiring me to poach an egg or two and make that chili nut cottage cheese snack- sounds *so* yummy 😊!!
carla-the turkish eggs were so. good! first time poaching eggs and they were pretty shit (my white completely separated from the yolk…how??) but it didn’t matter. still tasted great & made it dairy free with cocojune’s labneh and it was soooooo delicious!
Omg I made the CCR and used it as the base for the Turkish Egg… absolutely delicious!!
@CarlaLalliMusic123 Is that a Gene Wilder & Gilda Radner shirt?!?! If so, I absolutely need to know where you got it!! Also, thank you for giving some love to the oft-underrated cottage cheese!
LITERALLY this week was just trying to add cottage cheese to my diet and yesterday wondering what ways I can have it. Literally. Thanks, Mama Carla!
My favourite easy summer lunch is cottage cheese topped with chopped cucumber and tomato (and anything else you want) with some balsamic glaze and olive oil. Serve with toast points or crackers or a bagel. Delish!!!
Nortica is my favorite cottage cheese. Would love to use it in any of these applications ❤️
Love cottage cheese always have, pepper and salt it rarely makes it out of the container into a bowl
I've always really loved cottage cheese, even when most people don't! I rarely use it in cooking, however, and usually just as part of a snack with some sort of chips or fruit. So, I'm excited for this episode!
Can I also recommend adding a light miso to the nutritional yeast cottage cheese dip situation? So good. I like to do this with everything bagel seasoning and green onion for a higher protein bagel topper!
Bubs & Grandmas in LA had ranch cottage cheese on their menu x
Add some pea pods to your cottage cheese n tomato mix. So fresh and crisp.
Obsessed. Wouldn’t be mad if u did a part 2. Maybe explore the ways to sub cottage cheese w ricotta
What a timely video! I've been going through so much cottage cheese, but I just put a lot of lemon pepper mrs dash in it. I can't get enough. I made veggie dip out of it a few times, but that's too much work and I just want to eat the stuff with a spoon, not a mini bell pepper.
One of the only things I remember my mom making was cottage cheese patties and they were actually really good
Can’t decide if I love cottage cheese or your nails more!!! 🍄
This what I want to see!
I would ABSOLUTELY substitute Ricotta instead of cottage cheese any day!
First of all, I can't wait until I can go out and buy cottage cheese. Secondly, THAT SHIRT IS EVERYTHING!!!! Love it. Love those two beautiful people on your shirt. Wow, just wow that shirt. Where did you get it??? I live in Vancouver BC so you will never have to worry about another person in your area wear that shirt as the same time. Omg cottage cheese
Totally off topic, but how much do I love your shirt! Gene Wilder & Gilda Radner forever ❤️❤️❤️
Fantastic tshirt, BTW!
This recipe will come in handy. My neighbor is teaching me to make my own cottage-style cheese. In return I am teaching him how to ride horses remotely. The walnuts and eggs I can get by bartering with my other neighbors. Dill grows in my window box year round. Probably because I meditate.
Watching this hoping it'll get me to enjoy cottage cheese, at least in these contexts... the only time I've had it was when I got my wisdom teeth out and I was not a fan! But I also ate it pretty much plain so perhaps I just need to jazz it up lol
Oh the day one’s know the “deli-cat balance” charades story 🤣
my favorite lately is to have cottage cheese with a sliced tomato and crumbled bacon on top (yes, salt n pepps of course). Also I JUST discovered Good Cottage Cheese brand this week and it is delicious and less carbs. YAY! (I am not sponsored by them either.)
I'm a no-dairy situation but have recently figured out that it is creamy and smooth and delicious to blend together a soft tofu, butter beans, lemon juice and some salt, and I reckon that'd work out pretty reasonably as an alternative to cottage cheese in a few recipes.
If this has been asked and answered in prior videos, I apologize. BUT, where did you get those dish towels? They look so soft and absorbent!
Humbly requesting a video about dill and how to start loving it. I WANT to love it but I am, like you once were, hating.
YESSSSSSSS
immaculate timing
A favorite combination for me - cottage cheese and kidney beans with a drizzle of french dressing. Sometimes I spread it on my morning toast, then top with sliced tomatoes. It's a good protein choice for breakfast.
Awesome t-shirt
LOVE these cottage cheese recipes. What else would you use with the cottage cheese ranch?
Juicy sandwich on a bagel? Truly going to drip everywhere. But it looks very tasty. They all do.
I cannot eat tomato unless it is cooked. I used roasted red pepper in the tomato cucumber salad Excellent
"Cott-prese salad" is right there, why has no one invented that yet? I love cottage cheese salad with pretty raw veggies and a good sherry vinegar!
I don't like cottage cheese, but I'm perfectly willing to admit that it's probably just because I didn't like it as a kid and so I've avoided it as an adult... which is ridiculous, because there are so many things I love as an adult that I shunned as a kid. I'm going to try the Turkish egg one, at the very least. And if I find that I've been missing out on something wonderful, I will absolutely proceed to the salad, which is intriguing to me, even as non-cottage cheese eater. Maybe even the salad sandwich. That one doesn't really feel like me, and that has nothing to do with the cottage cheese... but I've loved other things Carla makes, so why not?
A bowl of cottage cheese with a side of Lay’s potato chips. Try it!
I think I'm going to try the CCR with my lox & bagel next time?
Yes!!
Nice! I love cottage cheese! I haven't eaten it in years! Shopping day in a few days. Facebook marketplace is my happy place, so long as no one tries to scam me! I got some $2000 speakers for $200 a few months ago!
You can't say the word "extravaganza" just as a normal word. It always has to be: EXTRRRRRRRAVAGANZAAAAAAAA!
For breakfast, mix cottage cheese, chopped pineapple and chopped walnuts. It has staying power for energy.
I invented the coleslaw, can't tell me otherwise.
ha ha ha ha!! I invented the word "spork" in middle school. it really was me!!
Love the t shirt! Where is it from?
Cottage cheese is the new cream cheese
This has prompted a very philosophical question: Are all sandwiches actually salad sandwiches?
♥️♥️♥️
Funny you post this bc I have a container of cottage cheese I need to eat before it expires 😂 unless it already has … ooops
Shocked MORTIFIED that people smooth out the curds
House of Curds.
Hear me out. Doritos with cottage cheese 🤌🤌 that little cottage cheese is the best honestly. Its a little more expensive but dang, its good.
Add “some” butter.
*one cup of butter later 😂
Cottage cheese 0:39 is way too salty for me. I don’t eat it often for that reason. but I do love it. IDoes anyone know of one that is lower in sodium than most? I live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and have access to a Whole Foods store.
could not find the recipes in either of the substack links... what gives
They are definitely all here. Scroll to the bottom of the post. open.substack.com/pub/carlalallimusic/p/carnival-of-cottage-cheese-the-recipes
But WHERE did you get this perfect shirt???
Daisy brand is the best, only has 3-4 ingredients
"Siri" stands for Speech Interpretation and Recognition Interface
It is also a name too! My great grandma was named Siiri; she was Finnish
I don't care for your conspiraSiri, Carla, but thanks for the CC ideas
SHIRT!!!!!!!!
I thought this was going to be a TED talk on how to spice up your relationship based on the thumbnail title.
I did miss more of the red oil on the egg etc
Still searching for a good cottage cheese brand. A word of warning to my fellow Canadians: the no name brand cottage cheese tastes like straight up boogers.
Once I find her (a good cottage cheese) I will be trying these! I've made GYR (Greek yoghurt ranch) and the CCR is calling my name.
Anytime I "invent" something that I know probably already exists, I call it a "Pete Campbell moment" lol.
I like the one at costco
