Oh Bert, if you have time to wait around for a RUclips comment reply, then get off your ass and just call them. And change your diaper while you are at it, 😂. They are an excellent company and they answer a boatload of questions on the vids, they obviously missed yours and now you are pouting like a child.
I did an ultimate topcoat in a glossy finish on a white marble dirty pour and it didn't dry to a clear coat. It took the glossy shine down a level and took the smoothness from the surface. Because of these results I decided not to put the ultimate topcoat on the bathroom vanity, so I can keep the smooth glossy look & feel.
I made a mistake and put it on to thick, I mean way to thick. This stuff was hard to sand down however, it wasn't a bad thing as it is a statement about how durable the topcoat really is. I called customer service and they gave me some pointers on how to fix it. I really put the top coat to the test because I knew I was going to sand it down a bit. WOW the durability is no joke. The only thing that scratched it was sandpaper! The final product turned out better then I expected. I would really like to see a video on how to fix mistakes regarding the top coat. Some examples could be if applied to thick, to thin, missing spots edge lines near backsplash and resurfacing over it with a new SCC design. Thanks for the video!

Stone Coat Countertops Ultimate Top Coat will be dry to the touch in 8 hours and ready for countertop use in 24 hours! Have you already used our products before?
@@StoneCoatCountertops Yes, I'm in the process of doing the countertops the way you did them in the video for the guy in Alaska. The black marble design with the Montana marble spray. I'm just trying to decide whether to pull the sink out or just do that section with the sink left in. I recently saw one of your videos where you left the bathroom sink in. Let me know your thoughts...
If you are looking to apply epoxy to granite or metal, it’s best to use a bonding primer to ensure that it will adhere correctly. We recommend using our bonding primer to prep surfaces. However, if you’re trying to apply a clear coat of product over your granite or metal, you can try XIM Peel Bond. This is a clear bonding primer that, when rolled on in one thin layer, can be nearly transparent. If you apply it thick it will haze, so keep it as thin as possible! After applying the bonding primer you can then apply the Stone Coat Countertop epoxy. This ensures you keep your overall metal look but give the surface a bit more protection. I would recommend sampling this technique on a small piece of spare metal just to ensure you get the results you are looking for.
This is probably a silly question but I'm doing my countertops after my countertops are done how long do I have to wait before I can put the ultimate coat on.

I don't know what the pros at stone coat would suggest, but I did epoxy on an outdoor concrete bench in my flower bed. Put the utc on it and it has held up really well. No yellowing and it's out in the sun with no shade. Not sure how it will hold up through the winter here in Ohio but will see when that time comes.
Would you use the ultimate top coat on anything but a kitchen or bathroom counter top? For example, I'm gonna try art coat on an old end table I have, but should I plan on using the ultimate top coat once it's done?
Hi Krissy, the UTC is optional. It does have enhanced durability. With the Art coat, you get the high gloss glass like finish. When using the UTC we have 2 sheens gloss and natural. Natural is more of a matte, the gloss takes the sheen down slightly. -Thea

Natural finish. Won't be glossy. Stone Coat recently began selling a gloss version, but they haven't done a comparison video yet. A different brand, Leggari, has offered similar finishes in natural and gloss for a good while now. Their gloss isn't bad at all, actually. Only con is that they sell larger volume, so testing it for oneself sets you back quite a bit.
I love you products and the top coat is very durable, but I hate the look. It turned a project that looked gorgeous into what appeared to be a cheap laminate. The guy in your video says it looks "Thicker" with the top coat. I couldn't disagree more. It makes it look very two dimensional and takes away all the subtlety and most of the complexity from the dirty pour.
