Just started Lauren's 7 Level System a few weeks ago, she is a phenomenal instructor. Lauren, my guitar teacher has been teaching me music theory - a LOT of it. I finally applied it. I just broke down "Treacherous" by Taylor Swift. I heard it and thought it was the most complex song imaginable. Well, key of D. A classic D chord progression. Simple melody. Often repeating the same notes over and over again. I could not believe it. Not even a key change. HOW does she do it! She can take three notes or so and makes it a masterpiece. It's amazing how many songs use simple chords and simple chord progressions and make it sound like this complex symphony. Thank you for your work and your teaching style!

Hi Lauren. I really like your style of breaking songs into simple chunks and making things easy to follow. I feel i have picked up really useful tips although i am still very much a beginner. I can see quite a few songs on your "lists" that i can see will be fun to tackle. it also struck me on browsing RUclips I have seen a few lessons by other tutors and some of the songs they have covered, I think you would be able to put over a bit more effectively ( Or add a little more spice to) if it is of interest, a few of these songs include. "Candy" by Paolo Nutini. "Maybe Tomorrow" by Stereophonics, "Chicken Fried" by Zak Brown Band and "All These things That I've Done" by The Killers. Keep up the good work, I love it. Kenny

Hey Lauren I have found another great song for beginners to play on the guitar ! the song is called "Rock And Roll Music" by the Beatles from the 60's ! The song is a 12 bar blues format song following the 1 , 4 and 5 chord progression pattern and the song only has 3 chords in it, A, D and E ! or if you wanna do a much more blusey version of this song you could do chords A7, D7 and E7 dominant chords ! lol :) i am learning that song right now and i am learning some cool riffs and am learning scales and arpegios so that i can perform some cool solos ! lol :)

This is understanding a bit of music theory, but in the beginning you can looks up chord charts or buy sheet music for the song you want to learn.
