I feel like that’s a great storage area for kids things and a great place for them to do homework when they’re older! Painting it white I feel like will open up the living room a lot more
Before you decide to tear it down I would “pretend to not have it” aka put everything inside of it in its new home and don’t use that area at all. That should help you decide how useful that space is!
Amanda Garcia yesss I totally just got a new tv stand, it looks nicer for sure but I missed out on soooo much more storage with my old one and I ended up dreading the process of getting my new tv stand when I could have enjoyed it if I had either planned better or thought about storage and use!
Myka Stauffer I know how that feels! After a long trip, I tend to get a little lazy and have to recover a little bit so this definitely helps! How was your trip!? Hope you had a safe and fun one! 😇😇😇
I say knock the desk area and wall out to make the living room flow into the kitchen!! The desk seems like it doesn’t serve any functional purpose other than storage! Taking out that wall it’ll feel so much bigger and open and you’d be able to see what the kids are doing more easily!
Knock it down and make a open space. It’s easy to store all that stuff in other places. It’ll be so much bigger and room to have kids play. Less cleaning also if it’s taken out. The kids stuff can go into the play room.
I would take it out. The kids can always work on school things at the table. Plus it’s less storage to keep unnecessary things! Thanks for the motivation 😊
Only you can manage two of my favorite things 1) cleaning/organizing and 2) ASMR!!! I swear your voice overs are the best! I’m inspired and relaxed all at the same time 😁
I would paint it white and keep it! That’s such an amazing space for storage, home office, or even a place for your boys to do homework once they hit school age.
Knock that cabinet out girl! The room will feel so much more fresh and light. The cabinet seems to darken the whole space. Super satisfying watching you clean that out though! xx
You asked about removing the built-in old desk. I say remove desk which looks dated and takes up real estate and take down the wall between kitchen and family room. The area will appear so much larger with an open floor plan. If you need storage for the kids that you'll miss from the old desk, you can always get a boxed one with cubbies.
You're right that was a work out, I was exhausted just watching you wrestle with those cushion and seat covers ! There's too much valuable storage to do away with that desk and cupboard unit. I'd definitely paint it white and just get new door knobs to freshen up the look. Great video, thanks Tiffany x
Yes love you cleaning videos!! One of the best “rules” I ever decided to make was to only let my kids have water on the couch.. it has seriously made things sooo much easier. I’m pretty lenient about a lot but that is one thing I don’t budge on.
Also... i feel like if you knock it down you might as well knock that whole wall down if you could. Maybe put A big dining table there or something. If you can’t knock the wall down I would keep the shelves (for now at least while the kids are young) and paint them white ...all that storage would come in handy.
that couch looks so comfortable yet so much work! We’ve had fabric couches but with dogs found it’s so much better switching to leather! So easy to wipe down especially when they get muddy outside! But we also live in the south so I’m sure fabric is much cozier in snowy weather!❤️
I would paint the wall units white. I love all the storage and would be great for your kids as they get older. The white would open things up and look good with your kitchen too. Everything looked great!
Awesome video! Super motivating 😊👏🏼 I’d say paint the desk white. It’s a beautiful piece and as you already know, with 3 kids you can always use more storage space!
😱 I didn’t even know there were couch cushion that had stuffing that just came all out like that. I would be so scared once I took it out they would never be the same. Love your channel 🤗. Great motivation as always.
My suggestion is to KEEP KEEP KEEP the shelving unit. You are going to need this area to stay sane throughout the years you are raising your kids. I’m not kidding I’m speaking from experience. I tore one out and ended up having to purchase things to put everything in and then things were strung out all over the place. At least this way it is all contained. I promise you won’t regret it. You can’t do away with having to have all of this stuff throughout the school years and it will come in handy as an easy way for the kiddos to help keep things organized and put away. And honestly you may be over it but it really is a beautiful place to display and SO SO PRACTICAL. Paint it white to change it up some. That will give it a fresh feel for you but my suggestion is to KEEP IT.
Very ambitious! I like the built ins. It houses all that stuff to keep you organized. I'd love that. Maybe get a window pane mirror to put under there or something.
Your voice always sounds so soothing to listen to while watching you clean, haha. It makes it seem like it will be relaxing to clean... although I do admit my brain feels much clearer in a clean home.
Paint white for sure. It will add character to the room and blend in a lot more. If you got rid of it you would have to find new storage for all that stuff that you have easy access to right now. It will also be great for the kids when they get older for homework and projects. I think once its white it will look totally transformed and you will love it!
I would paint the cabinet white. it's great for storage and it will be a nice place for the kids to do homework or projects when they get older. I also agree with using scotch guard on the sofa, it will save you a lot of work.
Giveaway bucket is a genius idea!!! I have it hidden away but now as you are saying about people seeing it, I will totally put it in a public place! Thank you for this!
Thank you! 1) I love your cleaning videos (well all of your videos really)! 2) I'm so glad you wash your couch too. My husband teases me about doing this. I showed him that you do it too, and he sees that maybe I'm not so abnormal lol 😂. If it were my house I'd keep the desk, but that's because I homeschool. So it would make a great space for that.
SUNDAYS are my cleaning and decluttering days! For my couches, I usually put large blankets over them especially when I have people over it. That helps with keeping them nice and clean. Plus they’re extra soft! Haha and I love how little pup is just hanging around while mommy cleans! So cute! Stop by our channel and say hi 👋
Knock it down and the wall! Imagine walking straight into the living room and seeing the view of the kitchen your kids and not having to walk around! You have plenty of storage in that house! Plus the new couch you were talking about.. I say no more sectional.. you can do so much with that space and love it
Although it would be nice to have the flow from the kitchen to the living room I would paint it white because you actually use it. If you didn’t use it I’d be all for tearing it out. It’s a good place to store children’s books, puzzles and crafts. It’ll be a good study area as they grow up too so I would say keep it in and paint it. 🤗 Or you could take it out and eventually do a study room for the kids when they get older or you could add desks and computers to the play room
I would keep it and paint it white. It's such a good storage area for coloring books and all the paper things that come along with having kids. Plus its a huge selling feature if you ever decide to move.
Girl don’t take it down you will be sad about it later it’s a perfect spot for all of your kids arts and crafts also your arts and craft omg I could think about like 100 s of way to use it one other way is homework for sure that’s a big plus you can also edit your videos etc... so yes paint it white girl it’s gonna make the room look much bigger love y’all
For whether to keep the desk or not- I say knock it all down, but put in built in cabinets or shelving along the wall (between the sliding door and that window in your dining area) that are similar to your kitchen cabinets so it matches well. You’ll still have that storage, but you’ll have the open room.
My husband made me get a leather couch before we had kids. I disliked it a LOT!!! But I am so thankful for leather right now with 2 kiddos making messes around! When we grow up as a family though, totally getting warm soft covers! Haha!
With the leather couches, I feel like it is easier to clean but the leather you have to keep up with it otherwise it starts to crack and tear! But soft covers do get dirty easier! So both good and bad! For our covers we got insurance on it so we’ll definitely be putting that to use!
@@theproductivemommy8169 Great idea. My kids are grown with families of their own, but I do have an elderly kitty and the baby wipes isna good idea. Thanks.
Your couch almost looks like memory foam! So comfy! And paint those cabinets white!! I’m so jealous you have an office space I would love one for my house
Thanks for the motivation!! I’m doing an 8 week deep clean in my house, excited to see everyone’s spring cleaning videos. One of my favorite times of year. I wish there was a liner you could buy for your stuffing, like a gigantic mesh bag. You did some serious work there. LOL your face at the art cabinet 😆 Relatable.
I really think you should paint the desk area in like a buttercream color so its not too stark white. I wish I could have something like that built-in. You have a lot of storage. Great video. ❤
We have a couch similar to your last one thing that helped restore our couch/pillows I used pillowcases from Dollar Tree (body and regular pillowcases) to put the stuffing back I to. It helps to maintain their shape and structure. Just an FYI 😀
OMG your storage! I'd keep the storage and just paint it! It will make such a difference just to paint it, and then in a few years if you still don't like it you can get rid of it!
Love your videos.💞Idea-💡Maybe you could get one of those proof away leather couches. You can easily wipe them off or scrub them down with multi-purpose spray. Add some throw blankets to cover, then just put those in the wash when dirty.
I think you should definitely get rid of that desk unit and open up the room into the kitchen with lovely bifolding doors to open up into your garden, it would look lovely.
This makes me want to go organize my junk drawers at 3 am 😂 also we tore down part of our wall between the living room and kitchen and was scared but loved the final result!
I would rather keep that built in desk!!! It's extra storage space... plus it really adds a nice elegant touch to the living room... and painting it white sounds good if really want to... I would keep it its natural color though... I'm a huge fan of that woody warm color on furniture!!!
Hey Queen! Ive been watching you for years, your channel is the first cleaning channel that i discovered and im in love! Whenever i clean (or not) i watch allllll of your videos and get inspired and sometimes putting them on repeat! I cant thank you 1 enough! Also, you inspire me to be the best wife i can and in the near future, the best mom. Youre an amazing example flr every single mom out there! Also, you and Chris are couple goals! You guys are so sweet 😭we dont even deserve you. Also, the kids 💕 i have no words left! Also, the couch is beautiful and i got inspired by you when i purchased mine. Its almost exactly lile yours but its a black, kind of grey-ish lets say. But i had one at my parents house which was indeed a pain to clean. I feel you. But try listening to yoir heart. Is it worth it selling/throwing away this beautiful couch? You said you are doing that twice a year which i find ok. But whatever you do, every single couch will need a special treatment. They need to be cleaned. But maybe considering getting a couch like this one but with sponges instead of wool? I thinl it would be easier for you, queen. I love you so much, sorry for my english, for i am Romanian. Take care and thank you for being the best out there! Forever! ❤💘 Lots of kisses for the kids from me! :)
Hi there, I came over from Amanda's channel! I enjoyed to your cleaning video, your couch looks so clean, good job! Your face before you started tackling the cabinets: 😂😂😂😂. I love the Method pink grapefruit scent as well 👍👍
I always thought your desk would look great painted white but now I think I'd rather just take it out completely. With your growing family I think you guys could really benefit from the extra space and more open concept. Plus, you wouldn't have to worry about always cleaning and dusting that thing! PS the crumb that magically disappeared off your bottom at about 4mins cracked me up!😂
I say knock it down! You could easily get a small cabinet to hold the kids craft supplies & such. But it would be easier to see them when cooking dinner, etc. I personally love wide open spaces!
I never sweat more than when I have to put my couch covers back on my couch cushions! lol I highly recommend Ikea couches, super easy to clean and cheap :) Love your channel! (I came over from Amanda's channel :) )
We had an open area and put cabinets in to help with the noise. Leave the cabinets.. Paint it white if you want, but from someone who had the open flow and will never go back I say leave it. It also gives a little private shield and space. Best thing we ever did was put a bearer between kitchen and den. Either way I'm sure you'll make the area look nice.
Just a tip for getting the covers back on easier...turn the cover inside out and shove your hand inside the cover (you should be touching the exterior of the cover) put your hand in the corner and grab the cushion. Repeat to the other corner and then you should be able to just easily pull the cover over the remainder of the cushion.
Leave it and paint it! Especially if you and Chris decide you want to live in your house for awhile. It will really come in handy when the kids need a spot to do homework!
I say paint it white!! I'm not really sure how much wall space there is between it and the end of your wall going into your kitchen, but you could potentially still take down part of the wall to have a more open concept. White would be so pretty 😍
I immediately thought the same as others on here, even before you asked, that the desk area in living room would be great homework station. Yes, paint white and see...
Definitely knock it down, I don’t think it serves a purpose other that storing clutter, having an open layout will let you see better what the kids do in the living room and will be much better,♥️♥️
I feel like that’s a great storage area for kids things and a great place for them to do homework when they’re older! Painting it white I feel like will open up the living room a lot more
Sarah Catherine I love white cabinets! Hopefully ina year or two we can remodel our kitchen! Cannot wait! 😭😭😭
Before you decide to tear it down I would “pretend to not have it” aka put everything inside of it in its new home and don’t use that area at all. That should help you decide how useful that space is!
Good idea. I voted to remove it but this is good advice for all types of situations.
Yes! It has so much storage I know personally I would hate to lose the storage but really whatever your family needs girl!
Amanda Garcia yesss I totally just got a new tv stand, it looks nicer for sure but I missed out on soooo much more storage with my old one and I ended up dreading the process of getting my new tv stand when I could have enjoyed it if I had either planned better or thought about storage and use!

I say knock the desk area and wall out to make the living room flow into the kitchen!! The desk seems like it doesn’t serve any functional purpose other than storage! Taking out that wall it’ll feel so much bigger and open and you’d be able to see what the kids are doing more easily!

Definitely paint it white. It’s such a great storage and desk area. Great for the kids to use when they are older too. Out in the open. I love it!!!
Knock it down and make a open space. It’s easy to store all that stuff in other places. It’ll be so much bigger and room to have kids play. Less cleaning also if it’s taken out. The kids stuff can go into the play room.

Repeat to the other corner and then you should be able to just easily pull the cover over the remainder of the cushion.
I love storage but I think it would be good to take it all down, you could always incorporate storage another way to best flow
Leave it and paint it! Especially if you and Chris decide you want to live in your house for awhile. It will really come in handy when the kids need a spot to do homework!
Yes I totally need one of these organizers!! Awesome video girl! 💗
Paint white! Love how much it stores!
Nothing like a little Monday motivation. I would paint the cabinets white
Greetings from South Africa
Definitely knock it all out! ❣️
I would take out the unit and open the wall right up and get a bigger table so it’s all open plan. Would be so much bigger and brighter and open!
I desperately need to to do this to my couch. Thanks for the motivation! 💜
