- In this budget friendly small space kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, linen closet konmari organization hacks & ideas video, we're organizing my small space using the konmari method and I'm sharing my best tips with you on organizing a small space. We’re konmari style organizing! In this video, we're organizing under the kitchen sink, the kitchen spice rack cabinet, the bathroom vanity, the kitchen pantry, and other areas of my small home. These ideas are apartment and renter friendly. I'm sharing lots of organizing ideas & hacks in this video.

Just a good advice: always wash new clothes before using it, even if it's just socks. It contains so much left over dye and chemicals

My command center is a notepad, pen, pencil,and marker in certain and same spot in each room. One active wall calendar on bathroom wall. Im big on function but not one to take time with asthetics usually.
Paper ruler and Sharpie= My labeling system.
Containers are shoe boxes, plastic bins or plastic storage units.
Underwear leaves dryer and goes into one drawer. No folding, no sorting by any method, no standing up or making a neat pile. Socks matched and put in drawer just pair by pair, no other attention to them. Within last year started to only buy solid color socks and 2 colors at that. Soon matching all socks will be very easy.
to each their own. if she's happy with it and it works for her and she can afford to do this, good for her.
my only thought is why a clear calendar over a black background? I imagine it would be difficult to see what's on the calendar.
How does this work with a notepad? Can you break down your thought process or checklist of how you can do it on a notepad?
Great organizing ideas. I love the small space ideas from Target. I have not checked there yet. My son loved when I organized his weekly outfits when he was little. It made him feel like he was a big boy getting ready himself. Now he is 17 and he still likes his clothes put together so that he can grab and go. lol.
You can put dirty socks in a lingerie bags and just throw it in the washing machine, after closing it of course. Helps with the missing sock problem.

😂 If only I could get my teenager to put his socks in a mesh bag when he takes them OFF!! 🙄 Instead of tossing them in the most random places like the middle of the kitchen floor, the front doorway entrance, tossed on the dresser (claims to try to throw them in the hamper bag, but misses.... And just leaves them wherever they land, lol)
@@Em22-wtf Ii feel your pain. That is why I started buying socks that are EXACTLY the same. Still had an extra sock here and there but no mismatched pairs.

Yes! I won’t wash them without one now! I found a sock stuck under the agitator almost completely sucked into the water outlet! THATS where my missing socks are probably 😂😂😂
Great motivator! Thank you! As a mom of 2 boys (22&14) I’ve found that just hanging & folding as I go saves alotttt of time. I’m not touching them at least twice that way . I sit on my bed & pour it all out from the dryer and have a spot for clothes on hanger, pants, etc. as I grab it I deal w it and put it in its spot. Then put it away. Instead of separating it all and then hanging them/folding them etc. time’s precious. It’ll save a ton of time each time you do it. Great job w the calendar! As well as the rest!
Watching for small space tips. I am living in an RV while looking for my last "forever" house. It's rough. Almost negatory on doing any crafts because you have to take machines out and put them back to take something else out. It's a never ending ordeal just to have a little creativity time.
Little tip for not loosing socks is, when they are taken off, put them together, then when you go to wash them take them apart. Wish I’d thought of this when I had children at home.❤

Sweet and great video. For that extra brightroom collection acrylic bin (Mon-Fri) -> One or two emergency outfits? (For when A spill /anything happens , this way it’s prepared and there for you & don’t have to scramble last minute to put anything together). I’m sorry if anybody already mentioned this and it’s redundant. I scrolled down to double check, but not all the way.

You could take the large plastic box draw out and use it then fold your towels inside the outer box so you just pull the towels out and the sides stop them falling over or getting lost so you get two uses of the box x
I noticed the door protector for children’s little fingers, I used white teatowels and rolled them up and stitch elastic tape around them and loops which gives extra thickness😅 if protection from the wooden frame and the children wouldn’t catch their arms aswell x

One of my daughters was really picky about clothes. It would take her forever to get dressed because she didnt like anything I picked. She was 2-3 years when I decided to start laying out her clothes for the week just like you are doing. But I put out 6 outfits. So if there was one she didn't want to wear an outfit she had an extra. It worked very well! No crying fits when I dressed her in the mornings. So maybe you could use the bottom drawer for an "extra" outfit?
No cheese drawer here but we definitely have a few delicious choices for grilled cheese. Havarti!!! Munster!!!!! Yum!!!!
Funny thing from my past. When my fiance and I started dating, his choice of cheese was American only! 🤢. He has since then been properly educated and now American grosses him out. Lol!

You could use a magazine organizer to hold all the water bottles either upright or side ways. It will keep them from rolling around
I worked in a pharmacy and we'd have to go through shelves to get rid of any expired medication, both prescription & over the counter.... That is the one thing that truly expires. Chemicals break down over time, most expire dates on meds are a couple yrs out so if it's close to expired, it's old.
Chemicals break down and change their make up over time, so it could have a bad affect, but worse than that it won't be as potent. So if you take something that's expired and doesn't work like it should, now you can't take more bc it could harm your kidneys, etc... So you're stuck W a headache or whatever and now you have to wait a few hrs to take anything else or to take more. It's better to just toss it and buy a new one. Otc items always have a much cheaper knock off and it's the same ingredients, so you're better off getting a knock off that's not expired 😊
Your car doesn’t look that bad,look up some of the detail guys on here,I can’t believe how bad some are, they make the cars look new. It’s just hard when you have little ones. Mine is pretty bad

Not a diy but living in Florida is fantastic but poses it's own issues like other places. Big one, rain plus sun ( besides rainbows ) creates condensation badly inside my vehicle. I don't have AC so to help this issue, I buy the damp rid knock-off version that the Dollar Tree has. They work just as good as the real deal and it's a fraction of the cost. One in my car door and no more mildew smell in my car. Yay!!!!!!

I’m so glad I don’t have small children anymore, my children had seven sets of clothes, I washed every day so I didn’t need so much and we line dried and had cloth nappies which I washed daily
You use Olive & June nail supplies, too!! Love that brand!!! Saw it quick while you were cleaning out your deck of small drawers!! 😊

@CatherineElaine at the 1:05:00 mark you are using your Cricut Joy to make labels for your bins. I'm newer to the Cricut world but have never seen label making look that simple. Do you have a video on how to do it (and I missed it) or could you make one? It looks so much simpler than how I've been (trying) to do it!!
The organizer you hung in your front closet .. you hung it on the wrong side of the door, thats why it didnt fit. Bedroom & bathroom & laundry room doors ALL open to the inside of the room. Your closet door opens to the outside. Try another hanging organizer like this on the other side of this door and you'll see what i'm saying.
Not that you'd necessarily want an eyesore hanging on the outside of this door since it's in your front entrance, so you guys did an awesome fix.

Family Command Center: Can you actually write legibly in those small squares? How do your kids reach that? How do you keep digital and 3-D calendars synched without having go write everything out twice?
I use chalk crayons and they work great! I can read everything perfectly

Bottom drawer- an extra outfit.. It can be the afterschool play clothes or just if something gets dirty or wet.

Perfume please. Fantastic haul lisa again. Love all your sparkley bits. I'm moving soon so excited. It's council so hopefully our forever home and we can decorate to our taste. Feeling very stressed at min with thought ov it all lots to move and sell and I'm surrounded by boxes...grrrr. but worth it. The pear looks like a pantomime prop or massive Christmas tree. Super cute though. Loved only fools too lisa when familys were family and had time fir one another. Reminds me of growing up. Great memories for us both xxx

@@MHaapalaho My first card got a monthly "subscription" from TEMU added to it. The bank closed the card and now my email password has been compromised and I've gotten overloaded with phishing mails. Thought about putting card on PP again, but my big bank had virtual cards to use online and I still ended up with that "subscription". I don't think any of them are safe. I thought about just getting a gift card at my local grocer when I'm ready to buy from TEMU, although the product quality has gone downhill and the costs have soared. Probably not worth it.
Temu uses forced labor. Terrible work environments. They don't pay import tax due to the low sale prices. They also use cheap materials. Why do you think their prices are so low. I will never buy from them.

I know I’m watching this way late and you may have found a use for the last acrylic drawer for your son’s weekly clothes, but I thought it would be a good one for hats/gloves/scarfs. At least for colder seasons (not sure where you live if that’s even a climate you deal with).

Nice organization... The only thing, I would've done different is specificed bath cloths and hand towels. It may save time with having to look inside and unfold the bath cloth or hand towel.

You could’ve stopped and made the black painted arch stop right above the top of the vent, so that the eye is not drawn to the vent and it’s more hidden & blended in vs being a focal point where your eye gets drawn down to it.
Last drawer I’d leave it blank looks sleeker that way or if not then would label it weekend

Hun, of course a doctor is going to tell you that medications that have expired should be thrown out. I do agree that depending on how much time has passed since they have expired affects their potentencey, but that also depends on the medications.
all medicine no matter what it is should be thrown out after expiration. it can be dangerous. that's like saying you shouldn't throw away expired makeup just because it hasn't hurt your skin *yet*

Hi Catherine, those products for your car don't work well, I had leather seats and was sliding for days after using that armor all. I have been using Dawn a few drops in a bucket with hot water, gets the grease from foods and snacks off the plastic/vinyl surfaces, great for cloth seats as well, I wiped them down with a cloth getting most the moisture out them went back with just warm water. I also used it to clean the mats with a hose, put some Dawn on them and spray. Cleaning the car is the last thing on our list so they do get build up. Even as an adult with grown children the car is always the worst! to clean! LOL! Great job, I love seeing these videos when you compile all the goodies! PS detailing once a year is great but about $200-$300 depending upon where you live, some places have specials with coupons, check the internet in your area for places.
armor all is great, in fact my boyfriend, his brother and i all use it for our cars. we all have leather seats. none of us are "slipping"

If you ever see this, can you let me know where you got that one? It looks like a better system then the one I'm currently using, which is a shoe organizer, but I think the more solid one is better!
Just a suggestion... the last drawer can hold 5 pairs of socks . Also don't fold the socks the way ur doing it will ruin the elastic in some time just fold each pair together

But I'll tell you anyways if he has in your homework that he has to do then you could place that in the bottom drawer so that way he has it ready to go by Monday morning and he knows exactly where it's at he just has to grab it and head off to school.
That way it keeps him more organized
And he knows where everything is.

I never will understand why people are throwing food away because there is an expiry date on the package before at least looking at it, sniffing it, taste it. If the food was in the freezer and the package was never opened, you still can eat it. Also cheese packages. If the cheese is not green sample it.
