Nice review, and as I bonus I caught a glimpse of my little I20N in the rain at Eastern Creek, had to watch that bit of the video in 0.25 speed to check the number plate to make sure though ;)
Good review guys, I 100% agree with it needs more side bolstering. I have no idea why you can’t get the buckets in the sedan when in Korea and the us get them.
Good review lads. The stupid driver assistance thing can be set to a favourite (star button) so it is at least 2 button presses. Still annoying but not overly dramatic.
Nice to see a review really calling out Hyundai with how bad these "assistance" systems are. Most reviews just brush it off and say "turn it off" but thats not realistic in the real world and daily living when these things turn on at every restart. The system are actively causing more distractions than they save due to their inconsistencies.
I just drove the drive of an i20N from Melbourne to Sydney and found the LKA and LFA functions pretty good on the mainly straight freeway and open sweeping bends. It stayed within it's lane and I would actually use it. My co-driver didn't agree - he thought it was fidgetty.
@@inCARnationAustralia don’t get me wrong. The systems are good in the right environment (and when you opt in for it). How it’s legal for a car to take control of a wheel without the user opting in for it though, I will never know.
Only thing I can't seem to turn off for good on my Kona N is the stupid emergency braking when reversing with people/moving objects nearby. People just walking past causes the brakes to slam on.
Mostly a good looking car in my opinion, I would have it in black maybe that would hide the spoiler and other styling elements on the doors. I would buy the Sonata but I’m 66. 36 year old me would have bought this.
Hi Mark and Stu, I was wondering if you could give an opinion on the manual vs DCT? I worry about long-term DCT reliability, and this is steering me towards the manual, but the manual is only ok for shift action. I hope you can share your thoughts.
Hi Jason, I haven't driven a manual i30N for years, so can't comment on that. But I really wouldn't have any qualms about the DCT which to my knowledge is reliable. We seen plenty of DCT gearboxes and the Hyundai i30N one behaves beautifully. It's a different box from their mainstream cars. DCT car will always be faster than a manual box but I'm sure the 3-pedal car is equally satisfying. Please check the N-cars.net and other forums for plenty of discussion. Mark may wish to comment as well, but he's outback, out of phone/WiFi range this week.
@inCARnationAustralia Thanks so much for your reply. I'm pulling the trigger on one of these soon and will check out the link. Really enjoy your reviews, and always look forward to your next one. Best car review channel on RUclips, IMO!
Hi Jason. I’ve driven the manual as well and I’ve found it to be excellent, great feel and very involving from a drivers perspective. Probably for me the benefit of the DCT is that allows left foot braking, which I prefer. But you won’t be disappointed with either.
We didn't do enough to say categorically, but it told me I was getting better than 8 l/100km on the first 100km I drove (quite gently). So better than 30 US MPG or 35 UK MPG
I'm happy now. I've just ordered one with the DCT in Cyber Grey. Can't wait to get it. Thanks guys.
White one for me. Getting one in next week
Honestly, for the money, what a great car. I test drove the pre facelift model. Very impressive. It was on my shortlist.
Another great video. Will definitely have to check out those roads some day.
Happy to be The Viewer.😀
Great review guys.
Yep, first thing I do is turn off that bloody lane keep assist!
Pre flight checklist. Lane keep off, Speed alert off.

nice to have options.
These are about 300HP at stock anyway, theyre greatly understated. Plenty have dynoed

The best improvement i made to mine was 18” wheels with 40 series tires.
Took the harshness away and quieter inside.

Yes good call. I think they look quite sharp in black. Won't date so quickly.
Hey guys do you have any Lotus’s lined up? Would love to see an Exige!

Thanks, Mark. much appreciated. I've had more fun test driving the DCT, so I will likely go with that.
@@jasonlegggo2815 Yay! DCT good call.
I have soft spot for a rice car, blue it is!
u can add power and hvave switchable maps so why wouldnt you?
Great driving roads guys!!!! i30N Sedan a compelling argument against a Honda TypeR, with a lot better looks and a sunroof!!
Definitely plenty of improvements but the Pfl looked more aggressive and unique and has none of that shit safety tech
The Type R is a much sharper driving machine and actually more comfortable to sit in.
@@sodazman it's not more comfortable. The suspension is way stiffer
@@sodazmanand close to $20k more. Plus the i30 sedan N gets heated & ventilated seats.
Most who own this car know the manual is the safe bet
Does it drink much juice if you drive normally?

It can be economical in certain situations but that isn't really a main priority. On the highway with the DCT though is pretty good (7L/100km)
u just put it in n mode not custom n mode
That gearbox seems to behave closer to a CVT than a DCT
I have a hatch N DCT, it behaves nothing like a CVT.
Haha!
Stupid comment it’s nothing like a cvt!
Tell us you have no idea about cars without telling us you have no idea about cars!
Turn the transmission to the lowest setting and you het dsg farts
😂
