Ellen, Messages on my Mac M1 died about a year ago. It refuses to launch and just shows the crash screen to send to Apple. Everything is up to date and, again, I used this video to double check all the settings on iOS and Mac. It all looks good. Messages on Mac is still delivering them in the control center but, I want to, once again, open the Message app on macOS and type and manage it there. (I prefer the keyboard over the screen for typing, as you can tell from this wordy comment!) Any ideas how to fix? I asked Apple Help one time and, of course, they want to wipe the OS! No. All the rest is working fine and all up to date. No way I am reentering and resetting the thousand things all set up perfectly now. Surely there is a way to reset Messages on Mac to wake it up from this zombie state of the crashing undead. Thanks!
Sorry but Apple would know better. I wish I had the answer. Have you tried removing your Mail accounts and see if Apple Mail Crashes with no accounts? To delete accounts go to Settings> internet accounts and delete them. Now try adding g them back one at a time!

@@EllensTipsForiOS Ugh, not worth the hell just for Messages on Mac. Maybe the big update will fix it.
It’s really not that hard! But you can wait and see if it fixes it and then I would try deleting accounts and adding them back.
i did a date and time bug for a game, but now i receive no notifications from messages and i’ve done every step and nothing is helping. please help
