All of your stitchy pieces look so nice. I really like your pumpkin start, finish and ffo. I wish I could whip out something that quickly. I appreciate your closing comments about stitching being a stress relief. I’ve been through some difficult times lately and find that stitching helps ease the stress. Today I sat down and looked through my four binders of Christmas patterns and thought that I will never stitch all of them in my lifetime. However, I realized it just makes me happy to look at what I have. It doesn’t matter that they won’t all be stitched. What matters is the enjoyment I get from thumbing through them. So thank you for being so encouraging about easing the stress and feeling the joy stitching brings with it. I hope you get cooler weather. I live in SoCal and our weather is predicated to be on the dry side but close to normal. The rest of the country, not so much. Looking forward to your next video.
Congratulations on Hey Pumpkin! Great job! ❤ Sometimes if a xstitch piece has a nostalgic vibe, I will put my initials and year in the lower right hand corner. I am 70 and that’s how we did it back in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s. Happy stitching!!❤
Great video. Loved your WIPs, especially Hello Pumpkin and the States piece. I don’t know where you bought the fabric for this round of project bags, but they so cute! I still put my initials and the year on all of my projects.
I love my tiny decision wheel. I have lots and lots of wips so I create wheels with like type charts ie smalls, Samplers, full coverage, holiday themes etc. For November I had 15 projects on a wheel and just spun every other day and just stitch a bit on each one. MY December wheel is all set with Christmas stuff.
It is always a fun time watching you! I had to laugh when you said “Don’t die!” Your projects are so pretty! I think you tried to do too many boards this year, but I like the idea of a wheel. I hope that works well for you! Have a great couple of weeks, by then it will be almost Thanksgiving!!
Love your video today! You are so down to earth and it makes it enjoyable. I started wipgo this year and one suggestion for it and tiny decisions put "Seasonal" or "Pick what your heart desires" so you have have some places to pick what you just want to stitch and not confined to the stitch on that square. Love your bags but I haven't purchased one yet because the ones I want get bought quickly.
Hi Nancy I just subscribed to your channel and have been watching your old video's and enjoying them. Wishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving. I the meantime Happy Stitching and be safe and kind. God bless Pat
Hope you are enjoying the scissor fob. My bag is in use, TY Nice work, cool finish. I do my white floss first, so it doesn't get tiny fibers into it from the darker floss, as red stitched before can make my white stitches look pink. I wouldn't put too much onto your decision wheel, as you might keep re-spinning, lol. that would defeat the purpose!! On special pieces I will add my initials & year. One Nation looks Great. Nice haul.
I absolutely love Heroic and have for a long time. I'm sure what I have in my stash has been purchased over time and are from easily 4 or 5 different dye lots so they are all unique. Anything I have remotely patriotic is done on Heroic so good choice for the one you plan to start.
I have several tiny decision wheels that I use when trying to choose projects. I have one with all my wips, one with Halloween/Spooky wips, one with Christmas wips, one with full coverage wips, etc.
I use the Tiny Decisions app when I don't have projects with a deadline. I also still put my name and date on the bottom of my stitching. It was how my grandma taught me and don't mess with what works. 😂😂 Patricia
I use a wheel. Right now I have about a dozen wips. I spin the first of a month choosing 3 wips. I only work on those 3 wips each month. I can work on them as little or as much as I like. If I finish a wip I select anything I want to put in its place or just work on the 2 left. When I spin, if the spinner lands on something that I really don’t want to stitch on, I spin again. The one I really don’t want to stitch on gets evaluated as to keep or give away. Hope this helps. My suggestion: if you finish a wip, select a kitted project to put on the wheel in its place. Remember you are the Disorderly Stitcher, so breathe……
I'm one of those who still puts my initials and usually the year also on the front of my stitching if it's an good sized stitch ( 8x10 or larger) or even my first name since it's only 4 letters (Glee). I hope that knowing their mom stitched it and in what year might increase the chances of my kids, grandkids, etc keeping some of these. If not? Well, I like signing my work and seeing that on there. On smaller pieces (pillows, stand ups, flats, etc.) , I attach where it doesn't show unless you're looking for it, my little name tags that say handmade with love by and my name. I enjoyed your video, Girlfriend 😁
Hi Nancy!! I use a app called decision roulette, a similar app to the one you're using. I find it helpful to help me take out the guess work of what to work on.
I use the decisions app on Tuesdays. My goal is stitch on whatever is called for at least 30 minutes each day that I stitch. Some days I keep working on it for the rest of the evening, but if I’m over it, I move into something else after my 30 minute timer goes off. The next Tuesday, I’ll spin again and repeat. Woman! Now I have the freakin’ Jeopardy theme in my head 😩😩
I put my 6 WIPs in the tiny decisions wheel but I would spin and I would not want to do what it indicated. I say stitch what you want when you want. I think at the end of the year I maybe down to 2-3 WIPs. I am not going to do wipgo since I will not really have many. However I have had Land that I Love in process since 2022 so I am going to try to break it up in 12 sections and try to work a section a month in 2025 in order to get a finish in Dec 2025.
Could you possibly be taking this wonderful pass-time and making it a job? In-put of a wheel is taking away what your heart wants to stitch when it wants to.
