You're right, Michael was originally pronounced Mik-eye-ell, like Raphael. The 'el' suffix means "of God", hence why all the angels names end that way.

"Israel" translates to "Struggles with God." "Michael" means "Who is like God" (phrased as a question). "Gabriel" means "God is my strength." "Raphiel" means "God has healed," "Azrael" means "Helped by God," "Ramiel" means "Thunder of God," and "Uriel" means "God is my light."

i actually very well remember, about 2 years ago mikey and jack (purplecliffe) were watching pokemon ripoff trailers, and PALWORLD was one of them. crazy to see how palword actually made it.
Not only did it get into early acess.. it passed through the legislation Process in Japan.. that has some of the strictest Copyright Laws in the world. :D

@@greed94well i mean there's absolutely some assets that were taken, I mean primarina's hair is VERY distinct and azurobe's is a 1:1 copy of that. But the design as a whole is changed enough to where its legally distinct most likely.
It's still pretty lazy at best and genuinely scummy at worst, but legally if it can pass the japanese copyright system then there's absolutely no legal issue.
Plus gamefreak/nintendo had a mod taken down in under a day, whereas they've had 3 years for palworld. If nintendo hadnt sued them already, then they definitely aint doing anything now.

Funniest part about the luxray, Boltmane comparison (the ones from the thumbnail) is that boltmane isn’t even in the game. It is an unreleased pal that is only seen in a trailer from 3 years ago
Yeah, and then people like Lockstin Gnoggin go on to make a (at the very least slightly biased) tier list out of all the pals and say "Well, this is pretty blatant, they could get sued for this." If they were gonna get sued, Nintendo would've done it years ago when the game was still in development and there were trailers showing off the blatant copy. And then he proceeded to put Arsox, a pretty original design since there are no official fire ox/goat pokemon, into BLATANT COPY BECAUSE AN OBSCURE FANGAME DID A SIMILAR DESIGN. A FANGAME. And the disrespect to my boy Chillet! He's just a big cold ferret! What makes him a blatant copy! Furret is literally just a big ferret. That's it. The most simple, basic thing to do with a ferret, just make it big. And Chillet is blatant because....it's also a big ferret? Despite looking nothing like Furret other than the inspiration of big ferret, and even having a unique dual typing! I couldn't even finish watching his video, his logic behind ranking them so low is just "Well, it looks pretty unique, but it's Palworld so it must be a copy."
@@HappyIsaac0420Chillet is shaped like a friend. I fell in love with it when I used one to run my fridge, and it just took a nap right next to the fridge while emanating its chill. It's too bad Chillet isn't that strong or fast, but having that piercing Ice slash on an early mount made my Chillet (named Frosraid) a reliable combat mount early on.

@@coltonwilkie241 to be fair so long as you have a Metal Coat and someone to trade back and forth with, Syther to Scizor is an immediate evolution. In PLA, it’s even more immediate since the Metal Coat acts like an evo stone so the second you have a Metal Coat and Scyther you can instantly become Scizor. I know these are very idealistic circumstances that don’t happen often in ingame playthroughs, but can happen in postgame pretty simply.
Other notable examples are Galvantua at level 36, Scolipiede at level 30, Yanmega at level 33 because it gets Ancient Power at that level, Orbeetle at level 30, Centiskorch at level 28, Armando at Level 40, and Golisopod at level 20-which doesn’t seem high at first-but because it’s in the slow xp group it takes forever. For context, Kirlia as a pokemon has worse stats than Unkown and then evolves into an amazing pokemon Gardevoir at level 30. For many of these you put in around equal effort for usually less reward. Sad.

As for brock you could argue he gave up his gym leader title to his dad full time whereas cilan and clemont are both still actual gym leaders whilst travelling with ash. So the post makes a lil sense if you squint hard enough

I was so confused by your thumbnail since I didn't recognize it despite catching every non-legendary pal in the game. Turns out that pal isn't in the game anymore but was shown in earlier promotional material. It's fair to point out, but it's kinda awkward having that as your thumbnail since anyone who has played the game without seeing that earlier promotional stuff will be thinking "Wait, that's not even a real pal." :P
There’s a Pal that’s basically it’s spiritual successor, they probably where aware that they where pushing it with the first design and changed it during development

The story just took a whole new level of depth and complexity. Kudos to the game developers for such brilliant writing.
Pokemon has had to know about Palworld for a bit now. If they were going to do something about it, I think they would have by now. I think most of the frustration of it comes from players who want better Pokemon games than what we have gotten from the company who is the highest grossing media franchise. I hope this pushes them to release better games coming forward. Because we all love Pokemon, we just want better quality games

Hey Mickey regarding Palworld and Nintendo:
Nintendo has 0 leverage to sue Palworld. Palworld did pass the legislation Process in Japan including Copyright checks (Japan is VERY strict with that). The only thing Pokemon can legally do is to make Palworld change the design of Verdash (the Cinderace lookalike) and similar Pals (what comes to mind would be Robinquill that is very close to Decidueye for example). If the Palworld Devs are clever the use the early access period to change those designs anyway to avoid more Pokemon fanboys piling on them and reviewbombing their game(s) :P
Nintendo made the Public statement to stop their Support Outlets being flooded with "OMG DID YOU SEE PALWORLD????? SUE THEM!!!!" messages.
I honestly don’t see the Robinquill similarity, but there’s other pals that are also in the chopping block for a redesign like the one that looks like Dynamax Eve and another that’s a flying type Cobalion.
Actually there’s a very few pals that would need a touch up, the vast majority of them are fine and unique for themselves

5:11 the issue with saying these things, is that yes they might be copying, pokemon has just done SO MUCH that it may be hard to come up with original designs. Like even if you wanted to do a small sheep pokemon, pokemon has that. Pokemon has just done so much
15:52 Ting Lu is supposed to be based off an Elk. I know he looks Moose-like because of the cereal bowl on bis head, but the antlers are very specifically thinner than a moose would have. Though I think a moose themed pokemon would be really cool, maybe Ice-Ground type
the luxray looking pal is cut content, was removed from the game before release. so using it as comparison is also really pushing it.
There is also a Mewtwo-like one that shares the same stance/body plan people compare that also isn’t in the game just in the files people push.
The only ones that are really dead on similar is the one with prismarina hair, cremis for eevee, and the grass cinderace, but they’re all distinct enough in design and in-game to be set apart. I even think the grass cinderace has a better design just cause it is less human like lmao.

pokemon made a statement because they kept getting pressured to.
palworld devs say theyve already gotten the game verified by a system that checks for japanese copyright infringement.which is far stricter than american copyright.
the game has been indevelopment, publicly, for three years and nintendo never send a cease and desist. but a mod came out adding actual pokemon to the game and nintendo had it shut down in hours. so they are obvious watching very closely and yet still have taken no action for all these years.
I also would like to add that in gen 7 ash does adventure with trial captains which is as close as you could get for that region

The fact they didn't just have Ray-ray learn the move by levelup and instead had a dude placed there to teach it is just peak comedy. Just like in gen 7 shadow bone was a level 27 move when Cubone eveolves at level 28 so you wouldn't have access to it until the league. God, learnsets truly were trash until gen 8, honestly.

5:09 Anubis was a god of the dead, Lucario is based on that deity. And Palworld came to making something that's based on said deity. Ether someone didn't do their homework or had forgotten that fact. Also other myths and monsters can also be found, it ain't just pokemon.
Palworld's more like Ark mixed with Breath of the Wild and Tears of the kingdom.
I think it's more that their body structure is somewhat similar. You look at Beerus from Dragon Ball, who's also based on the anubis and he doesn't look anything like these two. He's also a cat, not a dog/jackal.
Same with Azurobe. Pokemon has at least four species of snake pokemon (Arbok, Serperior, Sandaconda, Seviper) and none of them look as similar as Azurobe does to Serperior.

Palworld publicly had video, mainly of creatures, for 2.5 years and if Pokémon was going to take action they would have done something and it never would have come out. If they take any action now that it is popular would paint them in a bad light
Ive been waiting for palworld since that first trailer dropped and I specifically reserved a day to play all day and night long when it came out. I got ill right after it released so I had a ton of time to play. I've actually had a lot of fun playing it. I think at least 80 hours so far. It's got a ton of potential, and I love a lot of the Pals! In fact the ones that pocketpair created that aren't actual Pokémon knockoffs are so much fun and so cool!

People really think that NINTENDO of all companies the same Nintendo that dishes out cease and decist like theyre hotcakes, wouldnt nuke the creators of Palworld from orbit at the smallest legal ground, amazes me to say the least.
I respect Mikey so much for not wanting to support Palworld because of plagiarism. It doesn’t matter that Pokemon is a very successful company and I’m not saying it because I like Pokemon. Plagiarism-trying to make money off of other people’s work-is wrong and it shouldn’t be encouraged or incentivized.
Exactly. If they're willing to steal from the big boys, they're willing to steal from the small fries too. If you consider Never Grave to be a ripoff of Hollow Knight, then they already are.
But Palworld is both a very VERY different experience that Pokémon brings, and out of all the 130 pals there’s only like 6 that are sus and 3 that are actual Pokémon clones, but… I mean, it’s Nintendo we are talking about, if they had any legal ground to sue, they would’ve done so years ago but they didn’t, and Pocketfair is located in Japan which has much more strict rules for copyright, and they got the pass.
Legally speaking, Palworld is perfectly sound, and I say this as an old Pokémon fan… You don’t need legal confirmation to dislike Palworld, you are completely allowed to not play it or like it, if it’s not for you then that’s all there’s to it.

@@tothemax1517 You’re aware that Fair Use Law doesn’t exist in Japan? As in even parody its considered plagiarism? Gintama is a good example of legally sound plagiarism in Japan since it only parodies series from its father company.
Nintendo, GameFreak, The Pokémon Company and Pocketpair are all located in Japan, meaning that if a lawsuit had to be placed it would be in there where, as I said, their copyright laws are much more strict than here in the states.
As I said, the devs of Palworld already had their game checked in by their legal authorities and Palworld was in public development since it’s inception, meaning that after all these years pokemon has never had any troubles with Palworld, and mind you, a mod that replaced the pal models with Pokémon was given a cease and desist notice mere HOURS after being published.
If Pokémon wanted to sue them for plagiarism, they would’ve done so years ago, but simply put, there’s no legal ground for them.

Again, this is NINTENDO and POKÉMON were are talking about, the dudes literally took down a Palworld mod that replaces the models with Pokémon in just a few hours of it being published.
Palworld has been in open development for years, if Pokemon could not sue them then, they deff not have any legal ground to sue them now
