You should do some time lapse run time tests, especially if they are pared with batteries to see how long they run on diff modes. Time consuming but its a key piece of info to weigh up wether one lights runtime will last longer than others, so we can compare models. Thanks all the same.
time lapse run time tests sound like so much fun that I would feel guilty having all that fun for myself, I think I should let other reviewers have that fun, they better strap themselves in first, though!
thanks for the great review,,,my question is, can we use a higher mAh 16340 such as 1800mAh or 700mAh is the max? if we can use a higher mAh, will it increase battery life? thank you
Lee Ian Yes, higher mAh will work and will last longer. If a battery 16340 has1800 mAh, it is probably not a rechargeable, and might be 3 volt, like a CR123.
I bought the flashlight only and you get the pouch, lanyard, extra o ring,in the same box minus the charger and battery. Just to let you know it runs on a 3.7 volt cr123 as the 3 volt ones blink low charge on button.:) which I don't understand as I used a new 3 volt cr123. other then that great light:)
The full bundle was $23.00 when I looked, incredible deal. A few years ago a light with two batteries and 400 lumens max was in $80 to $100 price range. I think the new USB chargers may have something to do with the price for the "full bundle".
You mentioned that a full battery will do maybe 30 minutes on turbo, but the heat must be intense. Does it heat up quickly and does it step down from turbo to hi after a couple of minutes?
Yes, it has a real time protection circuit that will shut down or step down the light if it becomes too hot or the battery is not providing enough power. I am not sure how long it would take to get that hot, it depends on how cold it is outside.
@@WeAllJuggleKnives Does the Olight this is a clone of accept a single AA battery as a substitute for the fancy one it comes with? I'm looking for a small flashlight that takes cheap, easily available batteries so I can make sure to have a spare battery with my on trips without worrying about charging it.
+ we.all.juggle.knives I have a question for you. Have you ever seen clone good knives of the Rat 3 or Rat 5 knives. stainless steel or carbon steel. thanks
I'd suggest not bothering with the current CIMA Rat-alike. It's uncomfortably handle-heavy, the sheath sucks, the jimping is like a cheese-grater on the thumb, ergonomically it just feels wrong. Build quality is good for the price but it clearly wasn't designed by someone who actually uses knives.
I use (carry) this light wherever i go, it DOES reach 900 Ish lumen but gets hot at this setting pretty fast, i mostly use the low or middle setting, beautiful and very handy backup light, buy one!
Well, be it knife or torchlight. When the original company is from China and the cloning company is from China as well, people keep quiet. But, when the original company is from America and the cloning company is from China, people start to make noise. People these days ... lol.
How's the quality compared to the Olight? I know some people feel "brand loyalty..." But if it's the same quality for less than half the price I have no problem going with the M3. Edit: It comes with a 16340? Hell yeah... that increases the value so much.
The quality seems good. I was one of those people who got a defective charger with my Olight (the light wouldn't change to indicate fully charged), so I've never seen Olight's quality as necessarily super anyway.
Thank you, I am considering Convoy S2+ now... Is there any light that is small like Convoy S2 and M3 but support USB recharging, and is reasonably priced?
good light only thing is when I use the magnet, it turns off the light and won't turn on useless you remove it from the metal. it's sucks but everything else works. Flashlight, battery, charger, and case for $28 is still awesome. I'll still edu my olight baton1 because of the magnet cap. this a good back up.
i believe its the same company that makes both as the bell and howll some other one you see on tv and about 40 other names that you see on facebook are all made by the same people with different price points
They make great lights. The problem is they have totally unresponsive customer service. They do not reply at all. I've noticed other comments with similar observations. Hopefully, I won't have an issue.
The capacity is different. Which is batteries, the higher that number, the more the capacity. Btw, mAh means milliampere hour. And currently for 18650, anything beyond 3600mAh are fake, I believe.
+Enzorox ok, i have the generic blue 5000 & i just got two thrunite 3400. Thing is the thrunite when charging the red lite on the charger stays red and don't go green to show a full charge. the blue batt work fine on the charger. Ever have that problem? Thanks.
+vagabond88817 I am no expert, but just an experienced user and some of the following terms might not be correct. To me, in charging battery there are 3 things in concern. Battery capacity, charger charging rate and power plug output. The higher the battery capacity, the longer you need to charge them. The higher the charging rate of your charger, the lesser the time needed. The power plug (not all charger need) limits the charger's charging rate. If your charger charges at 1A, but your plug's output is 0.5A, your charging rate will only be 0.5A. I know your 5000 mAh battery are fake, with it actual capacity possibly half that number or less. But I don't know your charger's charging rate nor how long you charge. Given the info, I guess that your charger might be charging at a low rate, and the 5000 mAh battery might be only 200 - 1500 mAh. So the 5000 mAh battery charged finish faster than the Thrunite's battery. But it is charging so slowly, that the Thrunite's one never seems to finish charging. My solution to you is, get a smart charger, but don't need to spend too much on it, something under US$30 will do. Something like xtar vc4, which can charge 4 batteries at once, from 10440 to 26650 li-ion batteries and ni-mh batteries of various size. It can show you how much how much current are bring charged to your battery, which at the end you can estimate the battery real capacity. It has a few other good functions as well.
I for one don't mind these clones at all. Generally they're pretty good quality and we get butt fucked on price by the known brands imo. I have a £29 Wuben which for example has little to no difference in quality to my £80+ Fenix ones.
It's funny how they copy the appearance so closely. I mean, flashlight bodies are just aluminum tubes, they could have made it however they want as long as it's a tube of this size, they didn't have to copy the texture and everything, but they did LOL.
been using olight for almost a decade. bought and own 6 olight flashlights and none of em failed me so far. would gladly pay an extra for the quality and reliability over clones that would cost me more in the long run cause i have to buy a replacement
I just got my M3 920 lumens light today. First thing I got to say is the light does NOT put out 920 lumens. Maybe 400- 450 tops. Why do Chinese lie, lie, lie! Maybe cause money money, money.money! This fucking lite would melt if it put out 920 lumens.Anyway I like the size, tint, magnet and price. Do Americans really think $20 will get you the same performance as the Olight S mini. Even that lite has only 550 lumens.I paid $23.99 for it at gearbest.com. It's well worth that I just don't like false advertising or in this case lies.lies, and more lies from our Chinese friends.Remember this. You get what you pay for!
The Chinese are in whole a dishonest people. Very few of them in business are honest. I'm sure very honest and moral Chinese exist but I have yet to see it. BTW the Olight is in fact 550 Lm not 920, I own an Olight so I should know.
They call it "Beacon".. I got all my equipment ready. Don't have a Movie Maker. Windows 10 doesn't have one. I'll try with the youtube one. All I need to do now is actually film a video. Even bought professional lighting. Let's see if it was worth it. In the beginning I'll do german and english videos and then whichever are more popular I'll stick to them. That's all my friend.
I know. I am Austria btw.. Seems our cutoms is mean. I ordered a knife from goinggear.com and it says held at customs (in Vienna), no a few days later it departed Miami on it's way to it's destination. Which is strange, seems it's going back. It's legal to own and carry knives here.. it's not like we're in crazy Germany lol
Hey, buddy! I was able to fix the problem with the BTU PK26 by backing off the tube from the head assembly, now it can fit a 20Amp Keeppower 26550 battery. I am going to be posting an updated video where I show it.
the fact that you said it had memory has me even more excited about getting this little thing!

The On The Road M3 gives you similar performance to a certain $50 light, but for only $20.
Which do you like more this or the DQG tiny 4? Also what is the most high performance battery to get in this size? 700mah seems low.
I usually carry an 18650 light, so I guess I like those more in general.

looks great but i wonder about the durability. also olight has this one available in copper and brass which is pretty cool.
The Copper looks awesome

Just bought one through the link, they seem to be having a flash sale on the full pack as well.
Thanks for the review, looking forward to the arrival!
Any chance you can review the Angryfox Playfox E6? It is also similar to the Olight S10, but comes with some interesting accessories.

Yeah this is a great deal, I hope they do a version of the S1 and S2.
Hello ! Thank you for review ! Which light version youve tested, cold or neutral white ?
Hi! Cool White.
How about water test and fall..
where can i buy this ?
Does this flashlight also accept a single standard AA battery as an energy source?
No, it would not provide enough voltage for this light.
Hows this compare to the astrolux e01
+ we.all.juggle.knives I have a question for you. Have you ever seen clone good knives of the Rat 3 or Rat 5 knives. stainless steel or carbon steel. thanks
There is a brand called CIMA that makes them with worse steel, I haven't tried it but there are a lot of reviews CIMA knives on here.

Did you get the cool white or warm ? And it's held up well?
OTR lights aren't that cheap anymore, at least from where I can get things.
Well, be it knife or torchlight.
When the original company is from China and the cloning company is from China as well, people keep quiet.
But, when the original company is from America and the cloning company is from China, people start to make noise.

It's a double standard. Flashlight lives matter!
+WeAllJuggleKnives greatest comment ever
It's because it's a different culture there. Their whole small biz sector is built on copying
Of them which do you recommend, the Cool or Warm/Neutral? Thanks, great vid as always.
I always prefer the Cool White, it's a little brighter.
Thanks!
I just ordered one about two weeks ago. hopefully it will come soon

Would you recommend Convoy O2+ or M6/M3? I am about to buy the flashlight and have a feeling that you would know what is the best among these two?
Hi, did you mean Convoy S2+? That is a very good light, know many people who have one and love it!
Thank you, I am considering Convoy S2+ now...

What? Why is it doing that? The whole point of the tail magnet is to use it hands free.
Thank you for the review.
If we could see the comparison of beam shape or more long range shot, this review would be great.

i wonder what the battery life is like?
They say it is 30 minutes on Turbo, a lot longer in the lower modes.
My M3 just arrived. Very impressed.
Excellent, congrats! :]

I'm glad you're finding good deals because I like helping people get good stuff that won't kill their budget :]
I might have to pick this up and compare with my olight s1r 900 lumen. Looks great 🙏
There’s just no good way to put one of those on your key ring.
Still have it? Does it still work? Haha
I don't think this is as good of quality as the olight. Good find for a budget light
