The Convoy L6 is probably the most significant budget flashlight of the year. Essentially, it gives you the range and brightness of a $200 light, for under $50. When first introduced, the light and all the pre-orders immediately sold out. It looks like they have finally gotten more available. Banggood let me know about a discount code that brings the price below $50, I will include the code in the text description box.
Wow! This thing is a beast! Lovin' the critters. I need a solid thrower, but can't get one until next month. Unbeatable price! Hopefully they'll still be in stock. Incredible review. Giant light saber! Haha. Thanks for your responses!
+WeAllJuggleKnives Do you have a preference on chargers? I know I asked you a similar question not long ago, like, what charger(s) do or have you used? You say you use a Thrunite Charger...can you tell me the model please? I only own one charger and it all spawned when I purchased that Nitecore EA11 awhile back this year. It is the Nitecore D2 (2015) version. Digital display. Very simple to use. It was only $19 on Amazon, and I read WAY more pros over cons on the reviews. The majority were verified purchasers rating the charger with 5 stars, most up to 1 year of use. I haven't had any issues with mine. It only charges at at max of 500 mah, and those were cons to folks charging 18650 and larger batteries. Just that it takes too long. Psshh! Do it while ya sleep! I like the options, such as being able to lower the mah rate to 300mah, for a slower, but more efficient charge. Any input/critique/advice/suggestions are always welcomed and highly valued. Thanks.
I bought it when it first came out in neutral white. A few days ago I received my second one in clear anodizing with a cool white emitter. I can't tell you how impressed I am with this flashlight. All I can say is, I have over 60 flashlights, some of them over $200. This one kicks ass. Built well, very bright. Best of all you can order spare parts which you can't do with other flashlight manufacturers. For example, I purchased a spare driver which included a mode switch for around $5. The new one I got came with spare o-rings, spare tail switch, translucent switch boots, and a lanyard all for less than $60.
How's the tint difference between the neutral white and the cool white? I have lights with the neutral white XHP 70/70.2 emitter, but none with cool white. Wondering if I should try out the cool white on my next light. I'd like to get rid of the yellow in the hotspot.
Cree emitters mean little if the driver system behind them are hot garbage. And that's if they even are Cree; plenty of LatticeBrights and Luxeons being sold as Crees.
That is simply amazing. The fog bank footage is out of this world. After watching this video about 4 to 5 days ago, mine arrived today. Can't wait til it gets dark outside. Great video.
Got mine in. Yeah, amazing. The distance of a thrower but with a bloody beam Sweetness. Got a set of 4 Dishonest 5500 mAh protected batteries that fit well. Topped their charge with my Xtar VC2 charger (love it) and we are off and running. I also got a two-dimensional of KeepPower 5000 mAh protected that do very well. This is my biggest light...the Convoy X3 is next, down one...also a very favored light. Then Convoy M1 & M2 (the fraternal twins which act as car glovebox lights), then a C8 (the dog walker) and finally a red and blue S2+ set (purse & pocket). So between the 18650 and 26650 Convoys here, we're up to snuff. All the above are with medium warm color led's.
Ive got the L6 and DAMN it is the greatest cheap light ever! Finding 26650s that meet the 70mm or less in length took some real searching but found a pair of 4000mah high drain King Kongs and thus far the Kink Kongs hold their charge unlike any other 26650 I have ever tried. I lost my damn tac ring for this thing....
Hey! Just stumbled on your page for L6 review. Thank you for the informative review! Not sure if you ever see this comment but what is the different between the cool white and the warm white in flashlight. Thanks in advance!
Loved the review. Just ordered one as I've been looking for an affordable 3000+ lumen thrower for some time now. Thanks for the discount code & keep up the good work! Also picked up those batteries as I only had experience with 18650 so far.
Just got this baby with 2x Keeppower 5200 + 4x Soshine 5500mah and Nitecore SC4 !!!!! I think im ready for a Hurricane and Volcano at the same time !!!!
The question i have is why is it only $50 if its a $200 light? Are they using inferior parts materials or poorly assembled? Is it going to last like the $200 brands?
Cool review... I'm getting one in the next couple days. Waiting to see the cyber monday deals and coupon codes. This will replace my trustfire TR-J12, which is "only" about 2000L OTF, but with 3x26650. Cant wait!!!
How can those night-active deer handle looking into the flashlight without even blinking? Are their eyes blind-protected or something? I'd have assumed they'd freak out more than anyone (or freeze). They act as if there wasn't even any light. (Did you already make them blind? LOL.)
This light was my go to during hurricane Irma here in Florida as our retention pond travelled 20’ towards the back of my home. We were completely disassembling the downstairs of a 4,100 sf home. I kept using it to cut through the windy rain to keep an eye on the progression of the water! I’ll try to link to a video upload in an edit to this post! ruclips.net/video/KqW-esckXQE/видео.html Another sample: ruclips.net/video/4CVh9lczyZE/видео.html
awesome review. good to see bambi hangin around. Any word on the tint of the neutral? Got a few Mankers recently snd either very yellow or very green. CW is just white but I love truer neutrals with only a touch of warmth. cheers
Just ordered the neutral white version, but unfortunately they're on back order so I'm looking at about a month or more. I'm now considering cancelling the order and going with the cool white one which is in stock. Just how much of a tint does the CW one seem to have, does it bother you at all? Thanks.
I prefer the Cool White because it looks a little brighter, the tint definitely doesn't bother me, but I also own the neutral white one and actually I was just testing it out last night. I'm putting together a comparison video between the two later this month.
Thanks for the reply. I'm glad to hear that you've finally got your neutral white one. I don't suppose you'd be willing to comment as to whether there's much of a difference? Not looking for massive spoilers, just a bit of a hint as to whether or not to change my order so that I get it this month. Thanks. :D
***** Not too big of a difference, I think most people will get the Cool White, so you should probably get that one unless you just really hate Cool white.
Thanks. I've just re-done my order with the cool white one. Tried your discount code this time and to my surprise it worked, I thought it would probably be a US only thing. Got about £6 off this time so pretty happy with that. Looking forward to your review on the N2-3A version.
Well my N4-1C (6000k) version finally came today and I absolutely Love it. To me it looks like it's a very pure white, I can't see any blue in it. If anything I'm glad they didn't have the N2-3A (5000k) in stock.
Just ordered one...got the below $50 price & free shipping. What about the comment re the less than 70mm battery length requirements? Won't all 26650's work in this?
Dollars for lumens I don't think you'll find a better value than the Convoy L6. I was extremely impressed by the beam output in turbo and other modes. The flashlight worked flawlessly until the first time the batteries (Keeppower IMR 26650 5200mAh with only three charges on them) were removed for charging. After reinstalling the batteries the light will not turn on. I also tried the flashlight with other 26650 batteries and even 18650 batteries with no luck. What I have now after eight months is a very short and very expensive club to swing at people in the dark rather than a flashlight to see them with.
I'm sorry to hear that. Yes, this is a great light for the price, but the downside is that returns are near impossible to the China websites that sell it. The same thing happened to me with one Thorfire light I got. Thorfire themselves asked me to send them a video showing the problem with the light. I did! They said they'd replace it and never did.
WeAllJuggleKnives - The secondary spacer ended up being about one full turn loose. I used the following video to diagnose ruclips.net/video/Y2_fKOcGzNc/видео.html and it was spot on. Things are looking BRIGHT for the Convoy L6 again. I enjoy the content on your channel, keep up the good work.
There are Skyray King Lights, the newest is the 10 Emitter model, sometimes they have them on Amazon for around $30, might have to look around, it should be 3,000-4,000 Lumens with good batteries (the ads will say they are way more lumens than that, but I have the Skyray 7, 8, and 10 and I think they're around 3,000 - 4,000).
mine is in the mail waiting for me to get off work! I switched from 6500K to 5000K. I hope I made the right choice. all my cree 6500k lights all look too blue.
It's a tad warmer than I'd like but it's all around not a bad tint. I have xhp35 hi lights and they seem to be a tad bit better but very similar. I also have an xhp35 hi cool white that I think is too white. It's not blue, just a shock to the eyes but it's in a thrower so it's not a huge deal.
Thanks... But which is which. I think the Cool White model is brighter than the Neutral White. I just don't know which one is the Cool White. Thanks for your quick response. Do you know which model is the Cool White one? I couldn't find that info on the website of the seller.
The different models usually have different color temperature value, so some will be more white and some will be more clear or warm white light. The high the K value, the more white the light is, and it will look brighter.

What kind of changer will charge those batteries will my regular 18650 charger from thrunite charge them
Yes, I use my Thrunite charger to recharge them, it is a 4 slot charger and it can fit two of the 26650s at once.
This would make a great edc light for me other than my shitty coleman headlamp that has high, low, beacon, red, and blue :)

That fog bank footage is LEGENDARY. And all that reach in _cool white_, a tint that struggles hard against fog!
I've had many cheap Cree Led flashlights and none could ever clear a fog bank like this. It's definitely worth the price.
Great video.
you can never go wrong with a convoy. this bad boy is on my wish list
yeah, Convoy is solid!
Got mine in. Yeah, amazing. The distance of a thrower but with a bloody beam Sweetness. Got a set of 4 Dishonest 5500 mAh protected batteries that fit well. Awesome, I have a couple of those Keeppowers, they're my best 26650 batteries, and then to back them up I got some Soshine 26650s.
Oops. My AI is trying to take over. I meant Soshine not Dishonest. Kinda funny though. Yeah, no dogs poop in the dark in this neighborhood!
so glad I got one, feels nice having good quality flashlight.

Hey! Just stumbled on your page for L6 review. Thank you for the informative review! Not sure if you ever see this comment but what is the different between the cool white and the warm white in flashlight. Thanks in advance!
Mine came this monday. It really is awesome!
Loved the review. Just ordered one as I've been looking for an affordable 3000+ lumen thrower for some time now. Thanks for the discount code & keep up the good work! Also picked up those batteries as I only had experience with 18650 so far.
Excellent, I'm glad you got in on the deal!
How long does the battery last based on each mode?
Just got this baby with 2x Keeppower 5200 + 4x Soshine 5500mah and Nitecore SC4 !!!!! I think im ready for a Hurricane and Volcano at the same time !!!!
Congrats! One of the best budget friendly lights of all time!

They don't look directly at it, so to them it just looks like the sun came up early :]
Keeppower 26650 5200mah protected (version 2016) fit great in the l6.
Just make sure you're not buying the new double-wrapped batches. Those might even fit the tube, but you're not getting them back out.
Run times about this flash light ? I hate that they don't say about the run times.

+WeAllJuggleKnives looking forward to the review!

The N4-1C
Thanks for the info I just subscribed👍
Steve B
Welcome!
at what time does it fully charge?? (Batarry full) ?
just orded one off your link, thanks for the review! is that the cw or nw version?
Excellent, the one in the video is the CW version.
Which model did you review and recommend. Was it the N2-3A or N4-1C? Thanks for the tip off on this flashlight.
I believe it's the N4-1C

How hot does it get at full brightness?
Well ok this looks great!!! So I looked it up, every light I found The battery and charger was NOT Included....
Yeah, I would recommend Soshine 26650 batteries, I got mine on Amazon. I charge them with a Thrunite charger.
Awesome video my friend. I need a high lumen flashlight that's a flood light on a budget. Thanks for any information on flashlights.
Wow! those things are bright they would be good mount lights on an AR or on any other assault rifle.
More like a GPMG.
AR's aren't assault rifles, and no it wouldn't be a good weapon light... this thing is fucking HUGE, and heavy as hell lol.
Sheep Dog69
Which is why I said GPMG! lol
could you possibly review the armytek barracuda xml2 or xpl version?
Should I order protected cells let me know sir
Another great review, thank you and another greeting from Germany ;)
when I look on the website it has design option, which one of the two do you reccomend? cheers
I got the one with the highest K value, looks like that is the N4-1C version.
+WeAllJuggleKnives thanks!
mine is in the mail waiting for me to get off work! I switched from 6500K to 5000K. I hope I made the right choice. all my cree 6500k lights all look too blue.
the one on the far right looks just like it.
Stacy Keen How do you like it so far with the warmer white compared to the blue?
It's a tad warmer than I'd like but it's all around not a bad tint. I have xhp35 hi lights and they seem to be a tad bit better but very similar. I also have an xhp35 hi cool white that I think is too white. It's not blue, just a shock to the eyes but it's in a thrower so it's not a huge deal.
Does anyone know the difference between the two models they are offering....N2-3A and N4-1C ? Thanks
I believe they are Neutral White and Cool White models.
Thanks... But which is which. I think the Cool White model is brighter than the Neutral White. I just don't know which one is the Cool White. Thanks for your quick response. Do you know which model is the Cool White one? I couldn't find that info on the website of the seller.
I think they listed them in the same order as they listed the k value, so I think the N4-1C is the cool white model.
Hi, do you still use this light or has it become obsolete its been 7 years lol
It's still good, definitely one of the top budget lights of all time.
Could someone explain the diffrence in designs? (N2-3A, N2-7A etc)
The different models usually have different color temperature value, so some will be more white and some will be more clear or warm white light. The high the K value, the more white the light is, and it will look brighter.
thanks
never received a notification!
Would you be able to give me the dimensions on a tramotina sugar cane machete ,Thought if anyone could it would be you. love your video reviews and testing. keep it up
Hi! The Tramontina is 13 inches long and 4.5 inches at its widest, not counting the rear spike.
Hi how can I buy it ?
I like this flashlight!
I got mine from banggood at 5000k. This light has mad booty and stout! I'm very happy for the review, I was waiting for this review just to justify my purchase, I'm love this flashlight and you could beat the fool out of any dickheads with this light, I love mine! Thanks.....
I will justify the heck out of your purchases! LOL.
where do you apply the discount code?
...you go to banggood.com and buy the item. Before you press the button, you see the discound code box, where you put the code and then you click it on the wright. You will see the price reduction immediately.

The Cool White
Reached to the goal and further. I am satisfied.
Score!
I wiill be picking one up.
Awesome!

Gotta be one with nature like me LOL

Ha! 2 years later now it's going for $140 on Amazon lol
Yeah Amazon is really bad for certain brands. Even though Gearbest and Banggood have other problems, for some brands like this they are the best option.
WeAllJuggleKnives true, was thinking about getting it until I saw the price lol maybe I'll just stick to my acebeam ec60 and protac hl4 lol
