    Another great video, always like the soccer field and creek shots, shows most practical use ranges. Hey I saw a new up coming light you might want to look into, Eagle Eye X9. Looks like its going to be similar to Convoy L6 but maybe better design and brighter. Anyways thanks for the awesome videos.

      John Hertzog Who says he buys them? A lot of flashlight companies will send lights out to youtube reviewers for free in exchange for a review. Assuming the light does well, it will be good advertising for the price of a light at their "cost" which is probably half the retail price.

    • @johnhertzog7647
      @johnhertzog7647 7 лет назад

      That's awesome especially when some of the flashlights go for a few hundred dollars.Also he does much more than lights .Just the videos I have seen he has reviewed several thousand dollars of knives and multi-tools.Since I've been a subscriber he has amassed tens of thousands of dollars of gear that he has reviewed. I do know some companies will send a few products towards an already established youtuber if that were the case here I would not have posed my statement.Thanks I'm not all that new to this that's why I gave credit where it was due.

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  7 лет назад +1

      RUclips also pays videomakers, so remember, even when a reviewer buys an item with their own money, they might have got that money from RUclips

    Do you think these old style (4 emitters, smooth reflectors, $250+) throwers are a dying breed being replaced by single xhp35 lights that have 1300 to 1500 meters range and are half the price?

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  7 лет назад

      Only if they can match the brightness, but with the discounts this light is way less than $250.

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 7 лет назад

      WeAllJuggleKnives Most of these new ones are 2000 to 2600 lumen, but they have a more focused hot spot. So they don't have the same total output, but they still go farther for less money.
      The one advantage of the 4 led lights is they probably have a bigger hotspot which makes them more usable.
      Heck, you can get 800 meters from a modded Convoy L6 which is really cheap. You have a pretty big hotspot still, so it's quite usable.

    • @dannybeeh6332
      @dannybeeh6332 7 лет назад

      JasonWW2000
      There is no way you can get 800 meters from a convoy L6. The L6 has 70K candela. To get 800 meters you need 161K. That’s 2.3X more lumen output needed. So are you going to push the LED to 8200 lumens? You’d bloody burn the LED out within hours.

  • @tedtedsen269

    i got the q250 tactical flashlight 700 lumen, on its home page they claim it is 2000 lumen that is nonsense it is measured to about 700-800 lumen at max but i can zoom it to about 450meters verey weak at that distance and back to a crazy wideangel strobe its made of Aircraft aluminium and wether sealed

      It sounds like you want the Soonfire NS17 available on Amazon, it has USB recharging, it is the generic version of the Nitenumen NE01, which in turn is a generic copy of one of the Nitecores.

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  7 лет назад

      I would go with the Manker U21, it has brightness, range, and endurance. But the other must-have lights that are favorites on the budget light forums would be the Nitenumen NE01, Convoy C8, Convoy S2, Convoy L6, Astrolux S2, Astrolux S3, Eagle Eye x5, Shadow JM35, Starry Light DXM.

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 7 лет назад

      For gifts I would only go with built in charging. The Eagle Eye X2r and X5R are pretty great and you can buy replacement parts if anything should ever break.
      I don't know if the Manker U21 is worth the extra money over the identical Utorch UT02. Both are throwy lights, not what you call general purpose.

    These are cool, but I can't see myself wit any of these "Coke can" size lights on my person. Maybe if I had a farm or a vehicle to inspect remote locations. But it seems very nice and powerful!

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 7 лет назад

      traderjoes I hear you. They seem pretty big. I've got a DQG Tiny 7x xpg2 on the way to try out. It was reviewed here. 2500 lumen in a tiny package. It's a flooder though. I think the first soda can light I'll get will be the BLF Q8 when it finally gets into production. It's going to be a high quality version of all the cheap ones being sold no a days. Target price is $40 and it should do over 5,000 lumen. Can't beat that.
      Even my thrower version Convoy L6 was $65 plus $9 for the SMO reflector. It should be doing over 4500 lumen and 800 meters throw. I just need to accurately measure it.

      That’s for laser pointers. These lights simply do not have the range to hit an aircraft. Even if it does it is just white light, it cannot damage anyone’s eyes.

    Can anyone tell me how long does this flashlight maintain it's 3600 lm before it steps down due to thermal/time step-down protection? I need a flash light that will maintain it's turbo intensity for a minimum of 30 minutes. I purchased a Thorfire TK18 and in it's turbo mode it gives off 1200 lm and it suppose to maintain it for 45 min, however, after reading the operation instructions "FINE PRINT" it tells you that to prevent from over heating the light will step down to a lower mode after 3 minutes. This is referred to as "Thermal/Timed Step-down. So I would like to know if this flashlight has something similar. Thanks.
