    I always use it in tactical mode, ready for strobe and turbo anytime. Wide beam, you hit both eyes without aiming. Simple, powerful, love it.

    Way brighter than my Surefire M600DF. Bought 3 of these. Carried one for over a year in a factory with high ambient lighting for maintenance diagnostics on industrial machines.
    Only had to use it in self defense once in pitch black night at 185 yards. Person surrendered in under three seconds on turbo strobe. Then proceeded to walk very slowly hands up while an entire parking lot of an apartment complex was illuminated.
    May not be best 21700 flashlight but it’s simple, tough, and reliable. Bought many for coworkers.

    I added the luminous tail cap to my P20iX; beside the fact that look highly unusual, the real reason is that tail cap gives me the cigar grip, which I have learned to use since the 6P.

    Welcome to a flashaholic! I carry a light with me since long time now. It helped me in many occasions along the years; and it has been invaluable those times when I found myself in complete darkness. The best EDC for many years before LEDs was the Surefire E2, incandescent with some incredible 60 lumens output, and one hour of runtime on two CR123 - it was expensive!

    Thanks for your review. What I don't understand... To select a desired use mode:
    Keep holding the Mode Button (STROBE READY) on the tail cap and the flashlight will access the TURBO Level or STROBE MODE while simultaneously loosening the tail cap? Simultaneously Loosening the tail cap? Meaning: loosening the tail cap at the same time? It will make no connection to the power anymore? So... how to acces the other mode? Could you explain or show how?

    Hello my friend, I have a new p20ix. When I fully charge it and leave it unused for a few hours, then I reconnect it to the power source, I find the power indicator pulsing again and it does not give me a constant light, even though I fully charged it previously and did not use it. I do not know if this is normal or if there is something wrong with it. Battery or device

    • @NitecoreStore
      @NitecoreStore  4 месяца назад +2

      That is normal this light as a little bit of parasitic drain, so whenever it reconnects to the charger it will top off again, but we wouldn't recommend that as usually the parasitic drain takes only a fraction of a percent of the battery and charging it back up to full from basically full is really stressful for the battery

    Mine decided to change yesterday. It used to have 6 different brightnesses + Strobe, but yesterday I turned it on and it did not want to turn on, so then I turned it back off and on. This time it came on, but at full brightness and when I tried to turn it off, it started to strobe. Ever since then, when I turn it on, it comes on at full brightness and only has 4 different brightnesses. Strobe still works if I press the mode button when the flashlight is off. Also, if I press the mode button while the light is on, it goes in descending order from brightest to less bright instead of going in ascending order from least bright to most bright.

      Hey, I would try looking at your user manual as you just described turning your light to tactical mode, to return to your daily mode operation hold down the mode pedal and unscrew the tail cap, the LEDs should blink once, then release the mode pedal, screw on the tail cap, and you should be good to go!

    Your video says to get a good flashlight that can be a blinding tool.
    It doesn’t matter how many lumens it has if it’s candela is low.
    This light has roughly 12,000 candela. That’s not enough to blind someone reliably.
    A good blinding tool should be above 20,000 candela.
    Personally I can still see very well when a flashlight is pointed to my eyes until it reaches a measurement of 60,000 candela or above.
    That’s why I carry a Cloud Defensive MCH.

    • @iosonoi.7132
      @iosonoi.7132 9 месяцев назад

      That being said, this is still a good light with a specific intended purpose.
      But this is misleading.

    • @billjohnsonseattle
      @billjohnsonseattle 6 месяцев назад

      @@iosonoi.7132 The cloud defensive may be a lot brighter, but I’ve seen reviews that say it gets unbearably hot after just 15 seconds or so. Thats going to be a no from me dawg, not to mention the Cloud defensive flashlight’s price is just way too high considering that. A 3-4000 lumen light will have plenty of blinding power anyways…

      I also believe that the effectiveness of the flashlight is limited, and the opponent can deal with this problem, especially if the place is not dark enough. But what do you suggest? What is the alternative method or the most effective tool?

  • @Blue84Stang
    @Blue84Stang 9 месяцев назад +1

    *sigh* you don't need a 4000lumen flashlight.... Ever.... Particularly with a shorter throw, thats just a recipe for disaster.
    Can't find the article anymore, but a long time ago there was an article published which talked about flashlights for tactical usage. Within the article, the topic of bounceback (reflected light) was discussed. It pointed out that the brighter the foreground light was, the more light would be reflected back, thus negatively impacting one's night-adapted vision. It pointed out that a consistent amount of light would naturally reflect off of most surfaces. This is bad, because you would lose ALL of your dark adapted vision very quickly; which would then mean that anything outside of the range of your flashlight (distance OR width) would be even less likely to be noticed. So, the idea of multi-thousand lumen flashlights generally is rather absurd. The lower the lumosity, the less impact on dark-adapted vision.
    NOW, thats why LEP flashlights are super useful. With almost no close-range spill (unless they have aux LED's or intentional seepage), they can maintain a fair amount of dark-adapted vision, while still providing usable night vision.

    • @CorruptionManX
      @CorruptionManX 2 месяца назад

      Can you recommend a good flashlight that matches what you said?

    • @Blue84Stang
      @Blue84Stang 2 месяца назад +1

      @@CorruptionManX sure. I have been using the Nitecore CR6 for MANY years on the mid level, and it works well for throw and not a ton of spill, though, at times, I do find it a hair too bright and bump it down to a low or superlow level. One of the other things I like, is the secondary red mode. Not quite the same brightness as the white, but less impact on your night vision. As far as LEP flashlights, Nitecore and Acebeam both have some decent LEP flashlights. Honestly, flashlights have got to a point where even the little keychain ones are almost too bright for me. I had a Nitecore Tiki, and in low or mid mode, it was really handy.
      Haven't had a chance to use the Nitecore Thumb yet, but if you aren't looking for a ton of throw, its 85 lumen could be plenty for the near-range stuff.
