Just got two units of the p20ix after watching yours and others reviews. Awesome light. Still need a bit of a compact thrower so this P23i or even the way bigger P35i should do the trick. I’m a night worker and do everything at night so my lights have become my best friends from late night shopping, walking to the work building with no lights outside or throwing the trash at 4 AM, using my nitecores to make sure I don’t run into orb weaver spider webs lol. Great video review as always & thank you NITECORE for making quality products!

There are many good options for compact throwers. If you’re partial to nitecore they have the mh25v2! Acebeam has a series L16 through L19 and olight has the warrior x series.. Fenix has the TK20 there’s a bunch of larger ones too from all brands.

Cannot stress enough how good your reviews are on pointing and explaining those "little" details that make night and day difference in real situations. Features, put in real life context, that the rest of the flashlight reviewers simply overlook, focusing on nuances like threads, knurlings, lanyards, etc. Those people need to understand that the momentary Turbo/Strobe ready features are of social importance. Just like the antilock brakes (ABS).
The flashlight is the undisputed best self defense tool, according to the experts: the most effective, legal, safe, non damaging and multitasking of them all.
Thing is, none of those is valid of you don't have the right one in your hands - that's where your great reviews step in.
    Well done! 👍👍

What an awesome light! We have an AR 15 for home defense we got recently but no light yet. This would be perfect for us. Unfortunately my only shot is to win one having 4 kids and 1 income. I was going to look on Amazon for something cheap if I get any Christmas money. When we leave to go camping, hiking or such and can't take the rifle I could easily take it off and carry it in the holster. Right now I have a olight i3t so this would be a huge improvement all the way around for us. Great video btw! I would def buy all that for $229 if it were possible, great deal. Great review. I gave you a sub. Just got my 23i this evening. Wow, that thing is bright! I really like the features and the feel of the buttons. The feel does make a difference to me. I've had some lights that I didn't like the feel of how the buttons worked. I even like the holster. I will likely carry it in tactical mode and will seemingly never need it over their "low" mode of 250 lumens because of its nice concentrated beam. So glad I decided on this light. I'm truly impressed with it.

I bought one of these after watching your video. Very impressed with it, however the NTH20 holster that you can buy separately is not worth buying. The flashlight continually pops out of it even when you're not moving or walking so in rapid movement or if attached to a bag etc there is the risk of losing it! The flashlight though, is well worth the money.

Being a paramedic, I use my flashlight for a wide variety of things, but all essential parts of my job. For example locate victims, search for house numbers or street names when trying to get to the caller's location, search a house's interior or trash bin for valuable information (like hidden medication packaging), provide my collegue with light to treat our patiënt, and sadly sometimes to defend ourselves when things are about to get out of hand. I currenty use a Heider 18650-flashlight, which is "okay", but not very use-friendly in terms of it's controls, plus it's having a bad connection somewhere, causing it to keep changing modes automatically. Long story short, I think the new P23i is the perfect for my job because it's compact, easy to control, has a nice mixed beam, and offers some self-defense options (strobe + bezel) in case of an emergency (obviously we as paramedics don't have any other tools to defend ourselves).
Thank you for the fun and informative reviews, you got me hooked on Nitecore!

I’m skeptical on 3000 lumen lights of this size, I currently use the p20i both as edc and one of my duty lights. It’s great. I find that 1800 lumen is very practical for longer uses of turbo. Turbo really isn’t needed for TOO LONG but if the next level down is too much of a step down then it’s sort of silly to have a level gap of over 1900 lumen. (Referring to Fenix R series of 3000 lumen lights, goes from turbo at 3000 down to high at 1000) I’ll probably get it to try though as nitecore products have always been good to me.

The Olight Warrior 3S does 2300 lumens for 2.5 minutes if you're looking for a long turbo mode. It depends on a person's needs. I don't see myself needing turbo for more than 30 seconds. I like the fast burst of high candela to help in defense purposes as the light has the practical lumen ranges for daily use. The 23i offers me that better than all the others I looked at.

I picked up my p23i a few hours ago to replace my mh12v2 i bought just a couple months ago as edc in my jacket.
I love my mh12v2,but i wanted even longer range and better ability to break car Windows during car accidents (i can happen at any time).
Really impressed by the rugged build quality, still haven't tried it outside,so i am really looking forward to testing it more.
The mh12v2 impressed me alot,so i know my new p23i is going to blow my mind hehehe.
I started with 2dollar led lights, this is my 3 Nitecore flashlight i have bought within a year or 2,and i can already feel the need for many more,i guess i am hooked on your flashlights hehehe.
Thanks for making awesome products and for being so active on social media with great videos. :)

Really have to thank you guys for the awesome Flashlights, my older P20 which is in retirement now was my best friend during the Night Shifts and saved alot of lifes already, mine included.
It would be awesome to get my Hands on the new P23i either through this giveaway or buying it later. :)

    Hi there,
How does this compare to the Fenix TK20R v2. The outside design looks much more robust on the P23i but in terms of turbo runtime, I most interested as all lights claim hours of runtime like the TO20R v2 says 3000l at 2hrs 50min is so untrue.
While P23i says 3000l for 30min, I’m assuming it steps down after 20sec or so, but to how much lumens and for how long?

Can you make the rear mode change button larger like all the way around the tail cap and not just on one side? I really like the idea but with the mode change button being mostly flat it's not so easy to find especially under stress. Why not make the mode change button go all the way around the tail cap so no matter how you pick the light up you will easily find the mode change button?
Maybe it's not technically possible but seems like it could be. Thank you for the video Nitecore has been making great lights for years I still love my old Infilux 2 and D10 with the "Piston" switch.

I am not in law enforcement or the military. We live in a rural area where there are virtually no city lights. We live next to my father in law who is dependent on us to help him. There are many times that he calls us at night to come down and help him. With no lights in the area and his house being a ways away we need to use flashlights to find our way. Currently, we just use some energizer flashlights which have 350 lumens. It doesn't light up as much as I would like to feel safe. This flashlight would allow us to see anything (mainly animals) that may be in our path and scare them off. This would help my wife feel safer as well.
    Thanks Nitecore!

Much more light increase my vision and I used to work in the field ops. So see first and see better is way to sucess. And I want that p23.👊👊👊

a light like this would be invaluable for me. I work as a security officer for a large scientific exhibition centre in Scotland and the supplied torch is just a cheap Chinese thing. It's an RS Components branded torch (flood) and its bright enough for some of my rounds but there are a few long corridors that just disappear into darkness. So now i'm here looking at this. Hope I win!!!! If not, i'll probably buy myself a MH12se as the throw on that thing looks amazing.

I'm a police officer in Central Florida. I was gifted a flashlight by my father 12 years ago when I began my career and it stayed with me until last week when it finally stopped working properly. I hope to win the P23i giveaway because I've recently used my partner's P20ix and can definitely voice for the outstanding quality and law enforcement application practicality of Nitecore lights. Great review! Please consider me for the giveaway.

I have collected numerous nightcore lights for years. One of the great lineup of nightcore have are the PXXi-Xeries. P10iX is your standard floodlight its great for closeup that can replace your typical bar light. But its sales online in several shops are not as quite as popular as the P20iX which have a great balance have much brighter spot and more reasonable flood. Also its great having a strike bezel unlike the P10iX. Then there is the P20i. A not so great light because of mediocre feature. Only have strobe and fewer lighting mode. This P23i is a huge upgrade in terms of light output and being a true tactical flashlight. Having a high ccd and higher lumens mean its much bettet than its predecessor. P20i only comes with 4000 mah battert while the latest P23i comes with additional 1000 with 5000mah battery. Also the tailcap is a great addition It would be great if I can have this in my collection.

I work as a security guard and part time firefighter. Have been using an Olight M2R but that’s much more of a flood beam and doesn’t serve as well for doing searches. Especially in less than desirable conditions. This light would be a great Xmas gift :)

Your reviews is always great, this light very good also for EDC, can be use for self defense as well. I love nitecore products I'm using now t4k but can only burst 4,000 lumens for 10 sec. Wish it has 500 lumens after the 200 lumens. Anyway this will be awesome light to carry for outdoor or indoor use.

Hi ! Is it normal for the tail cap (or the tube itself) to be hard to screw in and need some force or pressure to screw it back and feel something is grinding between the battery and the tail cap ... or is it the threads?

The p23i steps down from 3k lumens to 1800lumens after approx 30seconds.The nice thing is that it stays on 1800lumens until the battery runs out, around 2h30min on 1800lumens,good performance.

This will be perfect for walking my small dog in the evening. Good enough spill to see the footpath but high enough candela to deter these bigger dogs that are prowling around on the loose with no leash or owner to be found. Would rather hit them with some candela than something else.

I've been looking at the Nitcore lights for a long time. But unfortunately the models that I want aren't available in my country. I'm currently doing residential security in a medium sized housing community. Thankfully it's well lit. But if I have to look at something in the dark, it's the trusty phone flashlight that I have to rely on. This would be a lifesaver for me!
