Incorrect information about Lawrence Fernando, I personally know the whole story. He should have done a proper research such as confirming with the Army and interviewing with people who were directly involved in 1996 Mulative war and even a interview with Lawrence and soldiers who are still alive. For your information there was a court of inquiry carried out by the Army and Lawrence name was cleared. Few days before this incident happened he was ordered to report to Colombo and was even sent a helicopter to report back to Colombo, to give a statement for the Gen. Kobbekaduwa commission court and that's why he was on duty leave. Lawrence was injured from a motar attack during the rescue mission, got injured to his spinal chord at the back of his neck and he was unconscious and everyone thought he was dead. He was also awarded a gallantry medal for being wounded in battle. I think this youtuber should do a further research with reliable and correct sources and deliver the true story. Just for your thought again, Lawrence who was a Colonel at that time facing court inquiry appointed by the Army Commander with Generals will not take any action if he had done even a slightest mistake. He had reported the camp vulnerability and has asked numerous times for special forces (commando) but they never provided.

He fired against LTTE not his people. Regardless of whether the enemy is Sinhalese (JVP) or Tamil (LTTE), the Sri Lanka Armed Forces always stand for the integrity and stability of the nation. So he simply did his job as an officer.

I think Balraj and Theepan were their best commanders. LTTE's attack on Elephant pass garrison was a great example of tactical skills of Balraj. Balraj's health was deteriorated during the fourth Eelam war which was a huge benefit for us

For your information there was a court of inquiry carried out by the Army and Lawrence name was cleared. Few days before this incident happened he was ordered to report to Colombo and was even sent a helicopter to report back to Colombo, to give a statement for the Gen. Kobbekaduwa commission court and that's why he was on duty leave. Lawrence was injured from a motar attack during the rescue mission, got injured to his spinal chord at the back of his neck and he was unconscious and everyone thought he was dead. He was also awarded a gallantry medal for being wounded in battle. I suggest you to do a further research with reliable and correct sources and deliver the true story. Just for your thought again, Lawrence who was a Colonel at that time facing court inquiry appointed by the Army Commander with Generals will not take any action if he had done even a slightest mistake. He had reported the camp vulnerability and has asked numerous times for special forces (commando) but they never provided.
