    Great video Simon. I bought the 45ltr but found it a little too big to take out for short shoots so also bought the 30ltr which is perfect.
    I now find that when I go away I take both bags but use the larger 45ltr version as a place to store my gear where I’m staying & use the 30ltr to travel around with.
    I love them both but if I could change anything it would be to give them more pockets to store the smaller items you tend to take out & it would have been nice to have an elasticated pocket for drinks etc on the side.
    But they are truly great bags.

    This backpack is brilliant. I was suriprised how better it is than most of the hiking/mountaineering backpacks i was looking at, even though it's a Gitzo and not an Osprey etc.. I love the features, the materials used, it's really a true outdoor backpack with a photo gear insert. I use it as a hiking backpack as well. I've had it for two years now and it's still like new. Well worth the investment.

    Finally found a review that shows a super zoom lens (600mm) actually inside the icu, many other great camera bag reviews I’ve seen only use up to 200mm for examples and it’s hard to know if a 600mm can fit! Thankyou!

    • @SimonWantling
      @SimonWantling  Год назад

      Thanks Lizey, glad you found it useful. I'm still using it and it's going strong. Be aware that with the new mirrorless cameras that require a adaptor to use an EF lens the it would fit in with the body attached to the lens. I just take the body off and then every fits nicely.

    Have you tried turning the camera/lens around and put it in with the lens pointing down? Maybe it'll be a better fit then?

    Just got the bag, having seen great reviews. Really impressed with the design and interior lay-out/padding etc. Only gripes are around the quality of the buckles and straps. They feel cheap relative to the rest of the bag and definitely in comparison with Shimoda and Wandrd bag standards.

    Hi Simon. I have a 600mm f4 and a 7D mark 2 and I am looking to invest into another backpack. Has mine hurts my shoulders and neck on a short walk of 15 minutes. Do you have any problems carrying the bag, say walking 30 minutes or so

    • @SimonWantling
      @SimonWantling  3 года назад +1

      Hi Andrew, I used to carry my 600mm over my shoulder mounted on the tripod but now if I want to walk with it it's always in the bag. I personally have no issues carrying it. It sits nice on the shoulders. I guess over time anything gets heavy but I like this bag a lot and the plus is it is accepted by airlines if and when we can travel again.

  • @jonathansmithies

    Having tried this bag, my honest opinion is that it’s let down by the straps. The inside of the bag is amazing, but after 2 hours with this on my back (only half full), my neck, back and shoulders were hurting. The support simply isn’t good enough. Gitzo came close to building a great bag, but IMO the lack of comfort for extended periods is a complete deal breaker.
    My personal choice and recommendation is the f-stop gear Tilopa 50L backpack because it’s so much more comfortable. I can walk around for hours with a full pack and it’s completely fine.

    • @timblass4811

    What do you think of the canon r5? Heard the was actually a new r6 coming out soon! Would you consider getting one. And what would be the disadvantages of a mirrorless to a dlsr. Is a mirrorless camera more for landscapes

    • @SimonWantling
      @SimonWantling  3 года назад

      Hi Ben, the R5 look great and I'm just waiting on my copy of one being available. Don't think there would be much difference between that and a decent DSLR for landscape photography. Apart from perhaps the increase megapixel sensor.

      It does but it's very tight so I wouldn't like to recommend it based on that. What I do is leave the adaptor connected to the lens which fits fine but take the camera off and put it in a separate compartment. I also have the 800mm f/11 the bag at the same time. Thanks
