Damn. She just shot her mom and has NO reaction to it. That’s some insanely creepy and chilling footage. My god.
I agree, she had no emotion at all, walking in K*lling her mother.Just felt so evil around her.Hard to explain but she is dangerous.
Just calmly walked into the kitchen, sat down, and texted her stepdad….. she didn’t miss a beat! Didn’t look, act, or display any emotion at all!

@@Hope...M I think it's up to the DA. Based on the circumstances of each case. And laws differ in states. Obviously a 5 year old won't go to prison. But some lock up. This is a very sad case.
Totally agree. Surely biological age is what distinguishes a child from an adult. Whatever the "diagnosis" however vile the crime.
"with no history of violence"....you know who else didn't have history of violence? chris watts and he annihilated his entire family.
Yeah but he was fool enough to get with a woman who actually went by the name "ShaNAN" so there's that. I only wish they hadn't bred.
Kinda easy... at FOURTEEN!

@@princesabonita79 So who determines when a kid should be tried as an adult? I think it's the DA office. If she was 11 would it be the same? Are there any set laws that have an age where you are tried as an adult or you aren't?
It really depends on the nature of the crime @@Hope...M
Her attorneys went from dressing her like a little, innocent girl to dressing her like an old lady.
🤭 her dorky haircut reminds me of that Peppermint Patty character from the Peanuts Gang.
Considering what everyone knows she’s capable of, dressing her like a kindergartner in court is more frightening and creepy than garnering any sympathy.
That tartan outfit reminds me of the one they put Karl Homolka in when they did the walk through of their den and all she gave af about was the crystal she got for her wedding.
That first dress they had her wearing looked like a Catholic school uniform and I think it probably actually was one.
They should have been punished for putting her into a catholic girl school outfit on her first day of trial. That was so wrong.
No, there were not 3 victims, there were 2 victims. Carly wasn't then nor now, a victim. A lot of people have lost a sibling, have divorced parents and a father or mother who had addictions. That is not excuse for murder. Carly seemingly didn't like discipline; thought she was old enough to do what she wanted. She wanted so bad to be an adult, now she has it, she can go to prison as an adult.
I agree 💯
Tell me how it feels to be psychotic...
4 victims!! Add the two dogs ! Poor animals....
The "professionals" failed at their job... The parents tried to get her help. All she got was a nurse and some forms and the wrong meds. I hope they sue them! I was a young girl, bipolar, but I talked to a real doctor, was in the hospital for evaluation etc. I got help, she didn´t. You need to earn the trust of a young girl, before she tells you anything and understand, she don´t know anything about mental illness, so using those forms to diagnose her and then provide meds... is dangerous and stupid.
@@annestovgaard681how are you so sure that she was psychotic? Did u meet her or talk to her?
Her actions in the video were cool, calm and calculated, and she was quick thinking. She showed signs of a sharp mind, not disordered in anyway.

She rejected the 40 year plea deal?? Did she think she would get away w it? Unbelievable.
She most likely thought that being a "little girl" with so-called mental issues would gain sympathy from the jury, as did her defense. They thought wrong though!
her attorneys are banking on her "insanity" and her age will result in a shorter sentence.
they said her defense team did that
Her defense team was indefensible! Abominable! (Even guilty deserves good ones)
It truly is a tragic story, Mom is dead, daughter is going to prison for life, stepdad left with all the pieces and the biological father is clueless. Despite her mental health circumstances, she was clearly not going thru a mental crisis while committing this horrendous crime. Cold, calculated and with no remorse.
She knew what she was doing. She didn't want to be told what to do .
So true. Spoiled evil psychopath
This comment says a lot about you. Would you go to jail so that you can win an argument?
you need to do a lot of reading... then thinking... and then you write.
she has at least 70 yrs of someone telling her when she can take a shower or a sh*t or eat...and what she can sleep. I hope she makes an example to other stupid kids that want to kill. And good luck getting antideppresants in prison...some people in prison go without because its PRISON.
Even at the end she didn't want the state to tell her what to do that she refused the plea
I love that the defense dressed her like a harmless little girl to try and gain sympathy from everyone, what an absolute lie. That child is pure evil. No matter what your upbringing or mental health status, murder is never acceptable. This wasn't self defense, it was thought out and methodical. She showed no emotion until the end when her sentence came down on her and she realized that she wasn't going to get away with it. Should they have locked up the guns? Yes, absolutely. So the parents do share a tiny bit of blame, but they had no idea that girl was planning murder. I hope she actually does spend the rest of her life in prison as I believe it is extremely likely she'll kill again if let free.
I noticed that someone was trying to dress her like a 5 year old girl, quite often the outfits were too tight and it just looked ridiculous, it didn't help at all. The step dad raised my red flags. Asked to be able to see her again, talked about how she never once got angry and was such a gee golly good kid as he attempts to defend her all the while knowing he left the guns unsecured and yes, maybe the mom bears some of the responsibility but that step dad, something not right with him.

The only reason why he is alive is because he was close enough to her so as to remove the gun from her hand, if not, he would be dead, and he still defends her. Amazing behavior from the stepfather. He doesn´t even care about his own wife and being a widow because of this monster.
@@LauRa-re9unhe seemed a bit odd to me while testifying and sitting in the courtroom. The way he would look at her and smile, mouthing I love you, zero emotion while talking about the d3ath of his wife of 3 years. How was she such a good aim for her mom, yet only grazed his shoulder, which didn’t even require one stitch? It sure wouldn’t be the first time a juvenile has been convinced to do such a horrific thing; because you are 14, you will only serve a few years, type of thing. I just can’t imagine any child being that worked up over a parent finding out they’ve been smoking weed and using an iPod to text a boy. Why on earth would parents keep a loaded firearm in the house knowing you had a child taking meds for anxiety/depression??
@@Mskaytee I was wondering why she started humming while texting, the reason was to drown out her mother calling for help, she then put the phone down and calmly walked back into the bedroom!

I have loads of questions on that one and he wasn't her father. At this point, no one knows the real relationship she shared with her stepfather.
It doesn't make sense. She was spot on in hitting the target areas 3 times with her mother and had every advantage over the stepdad to do the same but he gets grazed in the shoulder. She just stood there and let him come wrestle the ghun from her? I don't think so.

@@crst00may33I’m with you on this theory. Thinking maybe an inappropriate relationship between her and stepdad. I always find it strange when people live in a home where someone has a known mental health condition and choose not to lock up their weapons.
@@crst00may33 haven’t heard that one but his blind loyalty to her now raises questions for me.
@@crst00may33 Not a chance. Number one, she was callous, and incredibly calculated, this wasn't disordered or frenzied. Number two, you think that WOULDN'T have come out at trial? There are indicators to that kind of abuse that mental health professionals can recognize, they're especially going to look for them in a case like this. So absolutely, factually and without a doubt, no way. The stepfather might honestly believe that she was not mentally sound when she did this, it's a cope. @tencentpistol1 she won't get no parole, she was only 14. She's probably gonna get 50 plus years with all the charges, though. She should have took the plea deal! 😅
What was up with the jury though, sending the question to the Judge asking how many years is life?? I think some people do not realize that 30 states do not follow the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that juveniles cannot be given LWOP, and I think that is why they asked. The parole board can deny parole for the rest of their lives, but the Supreme Court ruled that they have to be given a chance.

as a kid in the 60's, my father told me that if you want to break the law, they have a place for you with a bed and 3 meals a day, that thought always stuck with me.
Did you notice that while Carly was sat texting in the kitchen, her mother called out ‘help me’, Carly made a sound to block the plea, calmly put the phone down and went back to the bedroom, probably to see if the mother was still alive.
Yeah, and she shoot again, it´s not shown here.
That part is awful. That poor woman. 😢
I went back and listened, I had no idea her mother was saying that. I totally missed that. It's even more chilling!
@@LauRa-re9unI think that noise was the dogs hitting something. The state said her mother was hit 3 times, you clearly hear those 3 times in the beginning.
@@grannyof2 Well, after she went back to the dorm, the mother didn´t scream any more, that is why I though she shoot again. She may have done something else to her so as to finish the murder. I guess.
She might actually have bipolar, who knows? But it's entirely separate from what she did. She killed her mother in cold blood and she just so happens to also be mentally ill.
She was talking about killing her mom for a fairly long time before she switched meds. The message she sent her stepdad made complete sense, she wasn't acting manic at all in her arrest video. It seems like she genuinely thought that she'd be found guilty but given a super light sentence because of mental illness.
💯 on the money .
She is a psychopath
Carly has not shown any remorse she is crying for herself not for her mum
wow mind reading... LOL
I like to say thankyou that you're keeping up with this trial because i don't have time,to watch full trials.

14. Life in prison…. She chose this.
And a Mississippi prison, no less.
Yep bet she wishes she took that plea deal, did she think she was going to get off ?
She ruined her life
She won’t survive it. Mississippi has some of the most horrible prisons in this country. It will be a violent ongoing HELL for her. Until someone ends it. Or she does it herself. They have problems keeping guards b/c of the violence. Severely understaffed.
@@Alexmila7979 do you really think a 15 year old mentally sick girl.. makes any kind of choices!... or maybe it is her lawyers... pls use your brain.
I have a weird feeling about the stepfather. I wish I knew more about the relationship between the mother and stepfather and the stepfather and Carly. It wouldn’t be the first time that a father figure groomed and got the daughter to commit such a crime.
Why would he groom his step daughter to inalive him?
@@Ann-sj4pt Many stepdaughters fall in love with their stepfathers, what a world you live in.The way they both looked at each other gave me chills. In the video, the mother's shots sounded very loud and the stepfather's were not heard at any time. WHY?
The drastic change in her hair alone would be a cause for concern. She went from long blond hair to Dora the Explorer
😂
The long blonde pic was of her Mother that she k+lled
@mypalsalvintage135 look at the thumbnail. The girl had long hair too.
So cold blooded
Most psychopaths do well on prison because they adapt and manipulate their way in to any situation with ease and before you know it she’ll have a bunch of inmates praising her on how she helps them and is a great friend.
did you just diagnose her? LOL

I feel bad for the dogs but my gosh she killed her mother in cold blood. The dogs will get a good home. I live dogs but animals are not human. Jesus say we have dominion over all animals. Glad she will never be free again.
My condolences to the family. 🙏
Thanks for always getting to the point ❤ short version I really appreciate it
There was something odd about the way the stepdad and her were exchanging looks. And his praise of her seems insincere. In any case, I’m really surprised this was all dealt with so quickly! So many cases drag on for a year if not more.
SERIOUSLY! what was that about???
Both had unreadable and odd looks on their faces, like dead fish. Strangely disconcerting. Could not put my finger on it, but felt disconcerting……
I’m from Mississippi and it’s common for trials to go fast. Probably because MS can’t afford drawn-out trials honestly.
The step-dad had raised that girl as his own for about a decade. He'd know that her mother (his wife) would not have wanted the girl locked up for ever like it ended up... forgiveness, compassion... hope? Denial also probably.
@@ChrisBishop-o5oa decade?? They must have dated for years since they were only married 3 years when this happened.
Why did the stepdad and killer smile at each other!
He's having an affair with her
Her stepfather needs to be investigated
How can they smile each other?😮
Those poor dogs 😢
To think she plead not guilty after what she just did in HD.
If she'd disposed of the camera she might have got away with it.
Stepdad reminds me of the guy in Slingblade.
His little tokens of love to the killer of his wife during the trial is creepy AF!
She only cried when they found her guilty. WOW
don´t lie...
She only shows emotions to her stepdad but not her mom. Also the stepdads over acting is suspicious. He’s acting like he’s dying from a small graze and somehow he how that’s all he got but the mom got cold blooded murder. Idk something isn’t right . My gut tells me the stepdad set this up. He told her where the gun was that was already cocked and ready. Does anyone else find his reaction fake? I think the mom found out about the stepdad and her daughter. The way he was on the stand wasn’t sincere. She needed her friend to come so the friend can say something about having 3 bullets for her stepdad. There’s one cover up . Please someone look into this further . I’m telling u he was overly acting when he was talking to the cops. The heavy breathing and pauses and high pitched isn’t authentic. She only asked how her stepdad was because it was a freaking set up !!!
Yes! And the way she was looking at hime during verdict and sentencing was very telling. He completely avoided eye contact then looked at her and motuhed "it's ok" it was so creepy and bone chilling.
I find it suspicious, there was a case years ago the foster daughter killed the mother, it was planned with the father and for life insurance, she didn’t give him up until she faced life and he was out enjoying himself. She also used mental illness defense and up until she was found guilty he had contact with her in jail etc. I can’t help think this is a very similar situation but also until convicted some people don’t consider someone guilty of a crime will his actions change now she’s been found not to have insanity once that sets in and the reality she was sound of mind when she did this him and the grand parents may see her differently.
Just watched the whole trial and your video was an excellent recap!
Y’all need to look at her step dad
Watch how they look at each other during the trial
Yes!!!!!!!!
Why is this not discussed enough?
He had her thinking she would get off Scott free and they would be together. That’s my thoughts. Hence, when she got convicted and sentenced, her shock. And looking back at him he mouths “it’s ok”. Shady af

@@yvonnemarie57 the mother is happy and pain free, the husband and dogs are traumatised. GET IT?
Another preventable death, caused by easy access to firearms. Shame.
Carly may have used an axe to murder her mother. She was obviously going to kill her mother and step father because she wasn't getting her way. The gun was a convenient weapon.
The editing and narration on this video is excellent. Thank You
Wow she gave up a wonderful life….loving professional parents, beautiful home with golden retrievers no less and her entire future. So many kids suffer with abusive, neglectful parents, poverty and hopeless futures.
Here's my spidey sense feelings:
1. When the stepdad was asked about the no contact order, his eyes closed and his face revealed pain regarding the no contact and then lightened up when the lawyer said the judge had it lifted.
- 2. When he discussed the shooting he was smiling through it which is when he should have closed his eyes and face cringe with pain at the thought.
3. Him saying she NEVER showed any signs of anger which is obviously a lie, being that she had issues abiding by house rules.
4. There's no footage of her shooting her stepdad and him wrestling the gun...and only got grazed on the shoulder??? Did it go down as they both say or did he get her to graze him.🤔
5. When the judge is reading the verdict, the stepfather looks devastated...broken. Why.
6. He's visiting her in jail and when the question was asked he couldn't help but grin and sway his chair back and forth like a school boy with a crush
7. It appears to me that there was much more going on than what is being revealed. Did they have some kind of relationship? Did he let Carly know where the ghun would be and make sure it had bullets with less recoil so it would be easier to handle? How far back was she when she shot at him and how did he manage to make it across the threshold to grab the gun from her? Was this all planned out in advance and the text to him was a subliminal message to let him know without coming out with it??? Why was he laying on the ground when his shoulder bone was just grazed?🤔🤔🤔🤔
Did she send her friend out so she wouldn't see exactly what was to take place? There's something off between Carly and him and I have my guesses.

The way she just calmly sits down on the stool after murdering her mother shows me she is a psychopath...no a sociopath. Just an absolute animal.
There's a lot of talk about the weird looks both her and heath were giving each other, and who's to say the secret bf wasn't heath, they had something going behind closed doors, go watch the trial again
That video of her being totally calm while texting as her mom after KILLING her mom is just chilling. The defense going all in on the "mental illness" route was a bad idea. Her behavior beforehand (boyfriends, weed, sneaking out etc) was/is totally normal for all teens. What is not normal is the cool detached way she murdered her mother and attempted to murder her stepdad. She may have a mental illness, but if so, it seems like it would be anti-social personality disorder not something like schizophrenia or psychosis.
First you read, then you think and then you write. Tell me, what does "psychosis" look like...
What makes me soooooo mad is you can clearly see in the video shows no mental illness but they want to blame her actions on mental illness i have PTSD anxiety Depression and i don't just go around killing people STOP BLAMING mental illness on their actions they know what they did they know its wrong that is what pisses me off the most
She is not even breathing heavy after shooting. Gets on phone like nothing happened. Mind broke
I can't believe the step dad testified in her defense. 😮
He actually testified for the state
She is a psychopath and has no empathy. I believe she needs to stay locked up. If she can do what she did to her mother and stay as calm as she did, she doesn't need to be out in the community.
She really thought she was the smartest person in the room. I'm so glad she didn't get away with this! Her moms screams are horrific. Can you imagine the shock and betrayal??
