Never EVER associate with someone who has NOTHING TO LOSE. He could have robbed a bank or a store. There are all kinds of things he could have done to get back "home." He wanted to murder them. I would never.
I was about to comment that same thing. He should go to any back and give the teller a note about this is a robbery. Or any other thing that he could go to his home The jail.
Grown ups need to listen to children when they claim to be abused. This man suffered from childhood trauma that he never healed from. Doesn’t make what he did right. But it could have been prevented had the people who were supposed to protect him as a child did their job. I was abused by my god mother. She had tile floors. She would poor rice on the floor and make me get down on my knees on top of the uncooked rice on the floor and make me stay there until my knees bled. I had to go through years of therapy to heal from that. Nobody would listen to me as a child.
My mother did this to my siblings and I. Afterwards, we would have to clean the rice up, cook it, and then eat it. She did a lot more than that. She was a her01n addict. All of her kids were born with dr**s in our systems. She sold my 3 sisters and I to men for dr**s starting at age 4 which made me have fertility issues. I have 1 child and 11 m1sscarr1ages. We all wanted to k!11 her, but we didn’t. Despite all of this, I’ve never been arrested or even have a speeding ticket. I did go to psych hospitals as a teenager and that helped tremendously. I also did therapy in the past. I’m doing therapy now, due to being a cancer survivor 3 years ago. I ended up with severe radiation damage. I got holes in my bladder and colon and I’ve had 2 bags on my abdomen for 2 years as of today 10/17/24. One is for urine and the other is for waste. They are called a colostomy and a urostomy. I will have the bags for the rest of my life. Even with all of this currently, I’m still not a criminal, dr*g addict ( I did have an addiction as a teenager), hateful, selfish, narcissistic a-hole. Now I’m a mother, a wife, a cancer survivor, a sister, a friend…etc… I’m kind, humble, modest, honest, funny, intelligent, caring, creative, selfless and many more things. I will NEVER be a statistic, because I’m a success. I broke the pattern. Thank you to anyone that reads this novel 😂😂😂
I'm no psychiatrist, but it does seem like at some point as a little boy he decided "no one will hurt me and get away with it again". This is a horrible situation all around. 😢
He did what he "needed" to do - to get back to prison for the rest of his life. Good choice of story from The Crime Atlas - always appreciate this channel, thanks ♥ Hope that little girl is OK.
Woof. What a chilling story. I believe him that some people aren't meant for the outside, but the way he yearns for prison is frightening. I'm surprised they gave him life instead of moving forward with a DP case. That's exactly what he wanted, so it... doesn't really feel like justice at all. 😕😕
Just let some time pass, his thinking will change quicker than we can imagine. Once he realizes "I'm in this cell literally FOREVER" he'll keep thinking that every day of the time he has left on this earth. Greetings to you and wish you all the best!
If he really wanted to stay in prison he would of did something while in so he didn't get out I think was harder then he remembered now he's heading back w a story he can brag about n im not sure if this right but mass/serial killer usally end up with their own cell also?
What an entitled Psychopath. No one fed him and no one drove him around? I don’t blame the victim but the sister should have never bought this convict in your home around your children! 😢
Entitled.?? The dude had apparently blisters on the bottom of his feet from walking several miles back and forth to work, a job he probably lost because of lack of transportation. Meanwhile there's two vehicles at the house, and nobody's willing to at least take him to work, so he can help contribute financially to the household and buy his own food. Instead they eat all of the food by the time he gets home, and he just has to take it cuz he just got out of prison and he has nowhere to go. That man is still a human freaking being and they denied him his humanity. So he took their life. And yes he is absolutely wrong for that, but entitled is crazy
He as been institutionalised in prison , everything has been done for him ( a roof over his head, a bed to sleep in , three meals a day and no working ) he hasn't had to deal with life and he can't deal with it.
I think you should watch the whole video, dude explains everything on why. It's a messed up situation but it looks like all sides messed up and yes it shouldn't warrant him in killing.
@@smurfmonster he's upset because he weighed 350 coming out of jail and has lost weight, probably 50-75lbs. So strange that he wouldn't just cook something or make a sandwich for himself. He is a very sick person
Exactly what I was thinking... and the fact that he thinks that he can get out of prison after being gone for 20 years and they are supposed to house him, feed him, provide transportation to him because they're all related. Forget the fact that he's already a felon, FAT af so he's not missing ANY meals, and murdered someone else already. There's no way he would have been even living in my house... wtf did he go to prison for before? Nah son.... And you kill the kids too? Were they supposed to be feeding and transporting you too? Why shoot them too?
You know I watch may of these and well adults are adults, they dig their own holes, ignore warning signs and make their own choices but its always children who have no choices in the situations that pay the ultimate prices. So sad.
A felon, who put himself in prison, with such a skewed sense of entitlement boggles the mind. No one owed him ANYTHING, not shelter, food, NOTHING. It's chilling how nonchalant he is describing what he did. He didn't care and every person in that house was an expendable means to an end. I pray that poor, precious little girl is able to overcome all the tragedies that were thrown upon her and she's able to live a good life. My heart breaks for her 😢

Second: yes they will send someone either way, but they need to decide WHO they are going to send, how much priority to give to this call. If she said "yes" he sounded serious, they'll take a cop the nearest car off whatever they were doing and redirect to this case. Funny, in jail, you'd never just assume you're entitled to your cellmate's food. He complains about how people act on the outside, but he didn't even act appropriately for jail.
In jail a meal is provided for you. He had to rely on charity , having nothing for himself. He expected his family to treat him like family and care that he wasn't eating.
You have to learn the distinct difference between Jail and Prison. You would know this if you had a proper education - paid attention to detail - read BOOKS to educate yourself and studied correct grammatical Legal English. Learn that Jail means a POLICE holding Cell It is NOT the same as Prison. Understand that there are distinct differences between the two. I live in Cleveland, literally 2 minutes from where this happened. I have no clue how I didn't hear about this psycho and his actions. Wow! FYI...this most definitely is NOT the Brooklyn neighborhood of Cleveland.
In the beginning of this story they cited it as Brooklyn Centre which by all definitions is this: Brooklyn Centre is a neighborhood on the West Side of Cleveland, Ohio.[3] It borders Old Brooklyn to the south, Stockyards, Clark-Fulton, and Tremont to the north, and the Cuyahoga Valley and the suburb of Cuyahoga Heights to the east.[4] The cop was saying 44th and Clark.

Yes..I agree with your sentiments 💯. The whole story is sad but trauma is real..regardless of source and unfortunately some folks will get to fighting stage and that may mean...everyone dies...so sad
He's so honest the detectives are speechless they really asked no questions. I understand him and how he feels about needing help but he just seemed a little entitled like they owed him something. But if it was my brother I would always make sure he ate. I would have helped him but I also don't know their history so i can't say what she should've done as his sister. This was a very simple yet complicated situation.
It looked like the police were just chilling in the cop car and acted like they resented being flagged down by the guy and didn't want to deal or believe it.
I think they were more shocked that a dude just admitted to killing his whole family. I would be taken aback and POed if someone killed their whole family and behaved so casually. They also can’t be 100% sure. People confess to things they don’t do more often than you’d think and you end up investigating a whole lot of nothing. Waste of man power.
they probably thought he was high outta his mind (or some shitty prank ig). idk what they were doing beforehand, but they probably were expecting it to be a waste of time in one way or another.
This is so sad in every possible direction. Sad they got killed, sad this guy was released, sad he didnt get help when he was young, sad there is no such thing like resocialization.
Right! The way he cut them off to tell his 'woe is me' story of being starved out... because no one wanted to cook for a grown man, I'm like, wait, you killed them over what?! The attitude is unbelievable! 🤔😐
The most mystifying and befuddling part of this interview is Mr. Muniz, after essentially murdering his family for not providing any food, refused an offer for some fare from the detectives.
It's worth remembering how very difficult life is for many of us. No-one asks to be born and we are thrown into a life where the system is not set up to deliver the most basic of human rights - unless you have money. If you don't have an equal share of resources, you have to problem-solve the best way you can. Mental illness is often the mind's way of coping with adversity, fear, and feelings of low self-worth. Success is not how big is your bank balance, it is how well you navigate a way through existence doing as little harm to others as you can. There but for fortune go you and I.
Before incarnation, everyone chooses their own family and place where they will be born, as well as gender and a “life task”. There are people who incarnate to be murderers. This is one possible experience of many in this world. Everyone is here voluntarily. We are not our bodies. 🙂
orrrr he wants to protect himself by removing himself as a potential threat. Maybe so the police don't body slam him on the concrete just to handcuff him anyway. While I do think this guy is all about himself I feel like this was the worst possible example out of almost 40 minutes of content to point to for potential narcissism and ASPD traits lol
This is quite the interrogation, wow. I’ve seen this interview room so many times watching The First 48. Girlfriend did an excellent job providing information to the 911 Operator. Finally we have a 922 Operator who wasn’t an asshole.
This man is institutionalize, just can’t make it on the out side , to hard for him , jails like a hotel to him , 3meals a worm bed ! Most of all No responsibilities, can’t handle responsibilities to hard for him .
Muniz did some absolutely terrible things. If we want to stop inmates from reoffending, we need to invest in programs that will help them become functional citizens. That includes education, mental health treatment, and ways to stay involved in their families lives. I’m not saying it would’ve prevented this man from what he did, but he was someone with an unmediated bipolar disorder and part of that blames lies on us, on society.
This society has a strong disdain for the mentally ill unfortunately - majority say that is no excuse and they are tired of hearing about. It's sad, humanity overall seems to have become mentally dysfunctional.
I'm not victim shaming, but as the man of my house with wife and kids as well, I would never allow my wife's older brother who's been institutionalized in prison for 20+ years stay overnight let alone live there. Husband Anthony or "Tone" and even "Angel" the father could've protected this family and had a duty to do so with children living there. A sad and tragic mistake to make.
Fascinating. Though his actions are inexcusable, I almost admire the guys honesty and knowledge that he doesn't belong outside of prison. It's a shame that he couldn't have found a less horrific way to return "home".
Love your channel...quick correction tho..im from jersey and unfortunately have done time in jersey. Five with a five means sentenced to 5 years, must serve five years before eligible for parole. He didnt have to do anything. The guy confessed to everything

He literally could have confessed to previous murder to go home
He looks like he’s been eating good tho 👀

Bingo and sorry u went through that
I'm no psychiatrist, but it does seem like at some point as a little boy he decided "no one will hurt me and get away with it again". This is a horrible situation all around. 😢
Absolutely tragic. Thanks.
Yeah. That's not bipolar.
That is true psychopath
He did what he "needed" to do - to get back to prison for the rest of his life. Good choice of story from The Crime Atlas - always appreciate this channel, thanks ♥ Hope that little girl is OK.
"I couldn't get a job so I killed them..." bro, what?
He had blisters and no ride with 2 cars in the drive and missed meal time all the time. Probably a case of extreme hanger

Oh yeah dude I'm friggin thumping on the walls in my house with frying pans to the beat
Yessss
That dudes face is the monster in the basement.
Now here's a man that takes food real serious!😬
15:08 wait… this is the most entitled piece of garbage
He doesn’t look like he’s missed many meals!! This guy’s a psychopath he killed the family because they didn’t save him food?!?!
Next season on Signs of a Psychopath...
Lol I love that show and ‘Evil Lives Here’ 🤣💀
It's odd that his response to his families perceived disregard was murder. Perhaps they felt that energy and were keeping their distance.
So sad.
He is mad that he lost weight? He could stand to lose some more. Despicable 🙄
My heart breaks for her 😢
911 operator: so he said he killed his family....do you think he's serious?
-Na I'm just wasting everyone's time. Have a good night.
Crazy/drunk/high people can yell all sorts of things that may or may not be true. Some people have a history of yelling crazy things just to shock others. Better to be safe than sorry and call the cops.
Drugs, drunk, stupid people making fake calls. All the people that call in making fake leads or taking advantage of a missing persons and calling in making demands for money saying they have the missing person. Happens alot
It was a completely valid question. They still would have sent responders out either way.
@@alyssaxrad she's literally calling the police to report it so she clearly believes it's potentially serious. And to your point, they're going to send someone regardless and that person is still going to approach with extreme caution...so I don't really see the point of the question,.
Do you think it's serious? YES - ok we'll send someone
Do you think it's serious? NO not really - ok we'll send someone
@@TJ-fu5kr "so she clearly believes it's potentially serious."
Notice how you have already walked back your claim to "potentialy serious" 🙂
Firstly: it's a perfectly normal question to ask when you hear a crazy story like this. II seriously cannot care that you think it's an unnecessary question.
Second: yes they will send someone either way, but they need to decide WHO they are going to send, how much priority to give to this call.
If she said "he didn't sound that serious", they'll send a cop-car as soon as one is available.
If she said "yes" he sounded serious, they'll take a cop the nearest car off whatever they were doing and redirect to this case.
If she said "yes, he's a psycho, he's killed before, he has four guns and votes Trump"; they'd call SWAT.
Don't tell 911 operators what questions to ask just because you don't know what information they want.
He was fed in jail.
He felt that was removed by his family.
You have to learn the distinct difference between Jail and Prison.
You would know this if you had a proper education - paid attention
to detail - read BOOKS to educate yourself and studied
correct grammatical Legal English.
Learn that Jail means a POLICE holding Cell
It is NOT the same as Prison.
Understand that there are distinct differences between the two.
You have much to learn -
So be teachable and allow others to teach you what you do not yet know.
And remember that education is expensive.
So be gracious about it.
Anyone who is teaching you fro FREE is doing you a great service.
Good bye and good luck.

I'm usually very critical of cops but in fairness I doubt they're used to people coming up to them like "yo I just killed my whole family, cuff me". They sounded like they needed a minute to process things" 😂
I think they thought the guy was high out of his mind because no one just walks up and admits to crimes.
Right!! Like they get paid to just sit in their cars and relax.
To be fair, I live in Jersey and Camden is one of the worst crime ridden cities in our state, so these cops probably thought this dude was tripping on something
You got no clue(besides the few seconds at the beginning) of what they were dealing with that day, week, month, year or in their life. deplorable crime but its great insight into the mind of a criminal. a true psychopath, no empathy, no remorse, no regrets.
Typical American response blaming the individual. Society is fine, very functional.
@@sebastianbardon391 what?
@@hovhyhov I'm not sure which part of my comment isn't clear but what I mean is that you are blaming the individual (even throwing a psycological diagnosis) as if these guys appeared randomly on American soil. You have the biggest prisoner population by far in atrocious conditions, some of them working as slaves. Throwing poor people and minorities face first in jail for years or decades with a high rate of recidivism. Instead of improving the material conditions of these populations, the government sends militarized police on them. They never had a chance in life. Society failed to them. And once they commit a crime or reoffend, you just blame them.
You're the one lacking empathy.
@@sebastianbardon391 the environment may be a factor but the individual is blame for his actions. Otherwise how do you explain all the other people in america who don’t annihilate their families?
@@hovhyhov Being the wealthiest country in the history of mankind, that's not a good answer. The crime is that you have these marginalized communities where the institutions are underfunded or non-existent, dr*ugs thrive, no access to quality education, no mental healthcare, an oppressive police, etcetc. This guy, on top of that, spent 21 years in the can. I don't think he had many chances to find a decent job, even if he tried.
Some people turn to crime, others end up dying on the streets, other work three jobs.. many comments here are too quick to demonize him and other individuals. The real problem is the society. The richer keep getting richer every day, jails are already full of poor people and there are more on the way.
I live in Cleveland, literally 2 minutes from where this happened. I have no clue how I didn't hear about this psycho and his actions. Wow! FYI...this most definitely is NOT the Brooklyn neighborhood of Cleveland.
In the beginning of this story they cited it as Brooklyn Centre which by all definitions is this:
Brooklyn Centre is a neighborhood on the West Side of Cleveland, Ohio.[3] It borders Old Brooklyn to the south, Stockyards, Clark-Fulton, and Tremont to the north, and the Cuyahoga Valley and the suburb of Cuyahoga Heights to the east.[4]
The cop was saying 44th and Clark.
@lindapietrasz8070 yeah no. Def not Brooklyn center. Lived here my whole life never has this part been considered Brooklyn center🤔

The family should have never invited him there to stay, there's plenty of half way houses.
I dont usually like thinking like this, but this man is a complete waste of human life and is worthless. He killed his family because they didnt make his grown ass food and because he wanted to go back to jail where he was taken care of. He played the victim. Disgusting.
What a shame when all a person wants to do is go home, and to them, home is a prison cell.

Yes..I agree with your sentiments 💯. The whole story is sad but trauma is real..regardless of source and unfortunately some folks will get to fighting stage and that may mean...everyone dies...so sad
Not when you are hungry and need to eat. Most people hustle to find work… any thing.. any kind of work to feed, clothe and house themselves.

Waste of a human life!

I'm not victim shaming, but as the man of my house with wife and kids as well, I would never allow my wife's older brother who's been institutionalized in prison for 20+ years stay overnight let alone live there. Love your channel...quick correction tho..im from jersey and unfortunately have done time in jersey. Five with a five means sentenced to 5 years, must serve five years before eligible for parole.
